I am thinking of making my drop pods with the doors glued shut. From a modeling viewpoint, it means I don't have to paint the inside and also it gives me some spares. BUT, what about from a gaming point of view?

Can I just claim the doors open and close as required, like we do with transports? What about the pod shooting, as the gun is mounted on the inside of the roof?

IMO this should be OK, as we do it for other models.

What about LoS issues? I think to be fair, I should just treat it like a solid vehicle, similar to a rhino, rather than looking through the holes.

Your thoughts please.

i would say they need to be open, drop od doors close manually AFAIK and they need to be open to fire it's built in weapon

Not having the doors open would interfere with WYSIWYG for the Stormbolter, as well as making it a solid target. With the doors open, it is rather easy to shoot through the interior (giving a cover save). I'd leave the doors openable.

Out of curiosity, why do you not think someone would be able to shoot through the massive open holes in the Drop Pod?
