Another space marine noob question

Quick qestion:
Does the chapter master need LoS to use the orbital bombardment? Or can he call it on any unit on the board?

Checked the codex. It say that "Calling down an orbital bombardment otherwise counts as firing a ranged weapon with the following profile......"

This implies that you need LoS.

EDIT: Saw that it counted as barrage, Tarion is correct......

Yeah, that quote was what made me think it might need LoS.
It's good to hear, I think I'll be attempting some first turn destruction to get the enemy onto the back foot tactically.

They get cover if it is between them and the center of the marker.

Kind of....

You use the centre hole of the template as to 'determine where the shot came from' so a unit behind a hedge won't get a save if it landed behind them, but would get a save if the templates hole was in front of the hedge.

For Area terrain (eg woods), you would get the save reguardless of where the template's hole was.
