3 Hammerheads is quite nasty. I know how my army would do against it... and it's not good. But then again, hopefully I'm not going to have to compete (I'm the spare player incase we have odd numbers). Should do well I'd think, but there will be many, many extremely beardy forces at the tournament, so who knows.

3 hammerheads is very nasty - I faced 3 with my scout army, and the submunitions shots were pretty much taking out a squad a turn. On the other hand, you don't have too many troops for holding objectives and the like

Seems like a good list, as you have plenty of Plasma, lots of anti-tank, and the pie-plates and Troops should help with infantry.

You might not score much when it comes to army composition, however.

hmm... My nurgle would struggle coz they can't have heavy weapons, though if i woz you i would a battlesuit and put more troops in.

Bulk up your troops fire warriors and kroot are after all a nice unit!

Yeah, it's legal.

He actually has 10 crisis suits and 3 hammerheads, then an ethereal that can hide in with his firewarriors.

The kroot seem like a waste, but I guess he needs them for the troop choices.

It's a lot like a list I posted on this board last year, 3 hammerheads, 10 crisis suits and 2 units of 12 firewarriors were in mine, I didn't use kroot. I'd love to hear how it goes down with this one ;)

Woops looks like I mixed up Pathfinder costs with fire warrior costs and the Kroot costs with Kroot mercs :oops:

Not quite, it's not min/maxy enough to be beardy. I guess for a tau list it could be considered beardy, but I guess that just means it's a tourny list :roll:

why the hell does your commander have fusion guns? You want to suicide him against a tank I suppose? if not, your commander is useless. If that IS your tactic, you're not really playing Tau. Tau don't sacrifice their most valuable warriors.

anyways, well, its not my list, I'd have 60 Firewarriors, and I suggest you pray you don't run into someone with say 8 missile laucnhers and 40 marines cause then you're toast.

I agree with 00asason that you'll have to hope for the first turn. A guard army with lots of lascannons will eat those expensive buggers

i have 7 lascannons a turn- those hammerheads are toast- ps almost every marine and chaos army will have a lot of antitank capabilities- therefore it is bad tournament practice to rely on tanks as the pivot of your battle plan

I have one question about the tournament. Is there a way someone could take some pictures so we (the people on the other side of the pond or people that don't go) can see some battle reports or stuff like that?

i still think you wont fare well come end game when you have to hold objectives- remember its the most models within 3 inch not the closest

Indeed someone can. I am bringing along my camera, and provided I don't have to play any games (I'm the spare player, so if we have an odd number of people turning up, rather than leave someone without an opponent, I will take their place), there shall be many pics. I'll try and take a lot of pics regardless.

I would say drop 2 crisis squads... add 2 crisisuits to your HQ, and take more firewarriors.

You don't need the antitank for your commander cause you got 3 hammerheads with railrifles. So he doesn't need a fusionblaster.

Yeah as much as tanks can be great, you need the troops to back them up. As Baranor said, troop-heavy Space Marines with a decent amount of anti-tank weapons (like my Ultramarine force) will be tough for your army to stand against, and I'm sure there are other ones out there too.
