A large number of us here clearly have digital cameras, be they camera phones or the expensive monstrosity I own. There's already a thread for photos of yourselves, I propose this one for pictures of anything but.

In order to start the ball rolling I include a shot I took last night. I was attempting to catch swifts flying in front of the moon. Ultimately I failed in that endeavor, but caught something rather larger...

I urge you to add your own.

So 2 replies and all pictures of planes.

Coincidence or is there a perverted nest of air nuts on the board?

B17 is an impressive looking vehicle. I think on looks I still prefer the Lancaster but it's close.

Well, asked Morat and he said that the thread was basically for any images that you thought were cool. Well, here's some pics I "took" - they're actually screenshots I took from Gran Turismo 4 on the PS2 which I then transferred to the PC (A rather nifty feature of the game, me likes. :))

Not Beardy
18th July 2005, 12:40
Every time I see pics of the new up-and-coming racing games for the next gen systems I think they're real. I thought that pic of the Grand Turismo pit crew was real until I looked a little further.

Andy
18th July 2005, 12:42
Thing is, those screenies are from the current GT4 game on the PS2. I absolutely cannot wait for the next consoles - but enough of that, Don't want to turn the topic into a console debate... pictures! More!

If we're allowed to post screenshots of games we played, then I have a few to share.

http://www.n00bstories.com/image.view.php?id=1374594755

This screenshot was taken during a community match for the game Command and Conquer Renegade. My community(The-Pits) won 4-1, in the screenshot you can see a mesh of troops in the center of the map.

http://www.n00bstories.com/image.view.php?id=1070534348

This one was taken when me and another member of The-Pits community went into another server to see who can get banned first for suspected cheating... Even though we weren't cheating. We got impatient and gave up after a few games upon realising that there were no moderators in the server. I will admit he was better then me, and probably would've won our little contest.

http://www.n00bstories.com/image.view.php?id=1106234368

This was taken when I got banned from a server for "cheating". I visited their forums, had my name cleared after a quick argument, and was allowed to return(I never did go back there after that happened).

Now for WoW:

http://www.n00bstories.com/image.view.php?id=1289702814

I'm afraid this thread is now mine for the duration. Just got back from the War and Peace show. (Just where the -hell- was Darkness?) This means there will now be pictures of tanks. Oh and armoured cars. And trucks... And Jeeps

Morat
20th July 2005, 19:54
Under the advice of "The Captain" we opened the back of the APC above to get a look inside. There are two seperate compartments on the left and right of the vehicle. In the upper left of the picture you can see the fire ports that allow the troops being carried to fire their rifles out.

Andy
20th July 2005, 20:05
Ah, so ye did go. Had a lot of fun myself. Myself and Luke were to be found mostly either hanging around by the Forge World stand, looking for cheap hand grenades (2 for a fiver, bargain!), or watching Tanks "shoot" cars (With poorly timed explosions, woo!)

Morat
20th July 2005, 20:13
Missed the fake shooting but saw the symptoms later.

So, the only other pic I have from the day, other than the Forge World stuff... The Abbot that was to shoot the ill-fated Ford Fiesta... I'd upload a large movie of the car being "shot", with a nice second or so delay between the shot and the explosion, but alas, it's 12MB, and hence, no upload for me :(

Well, back from Holiday, and I fear now, as Morat did earlier, that I shall take over the thread with pictures from various parts of the World, specifically the Meditteranean. Anyway, to start off. Pics of the boat we sailed on, which was pretty friggin' massive, and that.

Some more, this time from Pisa. Unsurprisingly, the Leaning Tower features here...

Andy
29th July 2005, 10:08
And finally some pictures from Rome. Rome isn't what it's made out to be. It's actually massively crowded with loads of traffic, and you get easily lost. However there is a lot to see, if you can make your way to the front of the crowd of people.

Danzig
29th July 2005, 10:31
All those pictures from holiday and I have just spent ages looking at the ones with the cars and the famous monaco hairpin! Is it as tight as it looks on TV?

Andy
29th July 2005, 10:37
The hairpin isn't as tight as it seems on the TV, though it's obvious how it's still a struggle to get round there. Coaches aren't allowed round that section because of the corners, which is an example of how sharp it is.

Dredged up like a corpse with pockets full of bricks.

Some (not so good) shots of London and some modern art.

Bit too dark by the time I took the skyline photos so they're slow and handheld not a good combination.

The art is currently residing in the Tate Modern and is entitled "Embankment" by the artist Rachel Whiteread. 14,000 white polythene casts of individual boxes all piled up in the main turbine hall.

very observant
yes they are looking at the same shore line.

It's actually a little cat, but has a great spirit. That cat goes everywhere with that guy. Shopping down town, boating as you saw there and even goes hunting with him.

There was a thunder storm on its way that night. That always makes for great sky watching.

this is the forest that covers most of northern canada and siberia. it's called taiga and it's a bitch to walk in because the ground is mossy, and the brush is thick. the mosquitos and black flies can drive an adventurous person insane.

this is pisew falls, the highest accesable falls in manitoba...meh, nice to look at though.

the grass river.

unassuming path is actually thousands of years old as aboriginal and later, scottish and french fur traders would use this portage to go around the falls.

Wowzas, those are some fine pictures yo.

That forest thing looks crazy insane beautiful. I can almost see a unicorn or something walk through. Or little gnoblars and sprites zipping from stump to rock, hopping over mossy lumps of grouns and spritting around the high branchs.

Went out to my great-grandmother's 90th birthday celebration at the homestead. Manitoba has nice homesteads. We were under attack by ladybugs...I didn't know that it was possible for so many ladybugs to exist in one place.
