An entitre Tau army classed as stealth is potentially very much possible !!!
Check out the following Apoc datasheet :

The devilfish optimised for stealth gives any unit within 12" radious the stealth ability - whats more they deepstrike anywhere on board ! So imagine deepstriking your fish next to 9 broadsides - 9 Broadsides on a gaming board with stealth  - even Titans would surely fear this - they would not even get close enough - especially if you give them targetting arrays where you will surely score 7 out of 9 hits more often than not !!!
What do you think ? I like it

its good of you think in those terms, now think in terms of how many ork boys you could get for that? or how many nob bikers?
its a cool idea and one which i like, just not effective against infantry much.

See I prefer to think how quickly my bikes will get through that Stealth Field and Power Lance their way through the Devilfish' hull ;-)
Strike Fast, Strike True, Strike White.

thats amazing. Cloaking your gun line with one of these would be great. I could really see this being a useful tau asset.
What is a strategic strike asset?

When you play apoc games, each person can choose from a list of strategic assets, where are pretty much 1 use per game mega abilities. SOme of them happen every turn, some happen once. THeres army specific ones, and theres also general ones.
The one that you get from the 3 markerlights just makes your guys hit on 2+s. Makes sense.

thats good for gun lines cause the most range you can possibly see 36" with stealth feilds
it would be most effective with rail rifles misslipods and markerlights
thanks for sharing, plus i love the ork quote in it so i sigged it.

I like the idea of Marker drones on the pathfinders devilfish.
And it would be nice if the Pathfinders had a stealth field generator or at least +1 cover save.

My main thought comes from the fact that the Imperial forces / orks / chaos all have massive amounts or armour for Apoc, and i see very little for the Tau other than a Barracuda. So as mentioned originally - cloak your Broadsides and Hammerheads - on a gaming board you'll hit Titans and super heavy tanks - couple Broadsides with Targetting Arrays (secondary system of SMS if anything gets close) and you will hit more than not !!!
Though as a couple mentioned, horde armies such as Orks would be an issue - this pathfinder Apoc combination is at least 900 - 1000 points - however - if your not popping Titans with a solid shot, turn your your hammerheads to submunition rounds with shed loads of Firewarriors in front - all cloaked by a devilfish nearby !!!
