What can I sell?

The main idea for The Marketplace, is for buying/selling/trading wargames-related items. So obviously, miniatures, bits, scenery, paints, etc. etc.

However if you wish to list something which is not wargames-related, then that is up to you. It is a friendly trading area, and therefore a lot of interests are similar around the site and there will no doubt be someone interested in your item!

(If however, the marketplace starts to turn into a place to sell random things, rather than mostly wargames things, then the ruling will no doubt be changed)

How to write your topic

If you wish to sell an item, you should describe (Pictures please) your item in detail, so the others can see exactly what it is they are getting if they buy from you. If your post is too vague or does not contain enough detail as to what is on sale, then your topic may well get removed. It's in everyone's interests to make sure that both the seller and the buyer know exactly what is happening with the trade, hence you are required to write your post in some detail, preferably with pictures.

If you are looking for an item to buy, then obviously try and make it as clear as possible as to what it is you are looking for.

If you are trading an item for something else, then again, detail, and preferably pictures, are required.

Pricing

Obviously it's up to you to name a price - but make sure you have one. Asking for "offers" is vague, and people don't/won't know where to start! What's the least you'd want to sell it for? How much do you want?

Location

It's also advisable to put a general location of where you are from - for example, if you are from the UK, finding someone also based in the UK would be a lot easier than trying to trade with someone from the US.

Payment

it is generally more acceptable as well, for the person paying, to send payment first. Then the item can be sent to the buyer once payment has come through.

What to do when your trade is complete or no longer available

When your item is sold, you find someone selling what you were looking for, your trade is complete, or if you are no longer buying/selling/trading, then you should Lock your topic. You have permission in this forum to lock topics which you have started, therefore you can lock your topic to indicate the fact that it is no longer available.

Feedback

Remember once your trade is complete, you should use the Feedback page. (http://40kforums.com/vb/showthread.php/25081-Marketplace-Feedback)
