OK, this is turning into one of my favourite rants, but what is with GW changing how the rules work in their FAQs? Erratas are one thing, but there are many times where the FAQ section is interpreted as if the writer hadn't picked up the codex, and just had a casual knowledge of the codex.
The current subject of my ire is the Necron FAQ. In particular, the Monolith section.
Q. Can a Necron unit that teleports through a Monolith’s portal move after emerging?
A. Only if the Monolith (and the teleporting unit) hasn’t already moved that Movement phase. If the unit has already moved before being teleported, it may only be deployed within 2" of the portal; if it hasn’t already moved, it may deploy out 2" and then move normally.
Fair enough, right? It acts like a normal transport, and you can do whatever you could normally do if the Monolith had moved.
Wrong. The Necron codex explicitly states that Necrons emerging from the Monolith portal count as emerging from a stationary vehicle, even if the Monolith has moved.
So, how do you guys play it? According to the clear rules of the codex, or according to GW's dice-roll of a FAQ?
