When is a Lord of Change > 2 Chariot heralds?

Part of me really wants to like the Lord of Change, I mean anything that packs a 3++ save gots to be kinda fun.
However I can't seem to find any time that its better to take the Lord of Change w/Legion instead of dual Tzeentchian Heralds w/ Bolt/Legion/Master.
The Heralds can target more units with more firepower and have more wounds and are significantly cheaper.

i am painting a l.o.t. right now. i justify the addition not for tactics, but because the model kicks ass. remember only half the hobby is the battles.

I wonder the same thing myself. I love the idea of taking a pair of LoC's, but really cant see why I would want to give up that much shooting.

And I'm really atached to the idea of running 5 MC too...

I could see him being of more use in a mixed god list, were there is more reason to get everyone into CC, but in a mono-Tz list, the herald is to key to your offensive power.

I think it comes down to liking the model/fluff. Still it's not like the LoC is bad(it's techinically better anti-tank because it's a MC), it's that Chariot Heralds are better.

An arguement could be made either way with durability.
Do you want 10 T4 wounds with a 4++ save or 4 T6 with a 3++ save?
One handles small arms better, the other the big guns.

the lord of change is really frustrating for me to deal with. i had to stick a squad of termies, a dreadnaught, and a number of missle shots into it just to kill it. then i had to face the rest of the opposing army. like i said, its annoying.

i once faced a lord of change in cc, it took me ages to take down, i used a dreadnougth and a khorne lord with a bloodfeeder who rolled above average for his attacks. In the end it was a couple of leftover lesser summoned daemons who joined the battle(cheapest model from my side 13p) who killed his loc.

Yeah but the Heralds have twice the shots @BS4 so their overall firepower is superior still.
