Which mark is the easiest for chaos beginners?

Black Legion, as you can take whatever the hell you want.

well yeah you can take the "hell" you want but there is nothing like super magic or chainaxes. or the gift of screaming or dieseses. but abbadons kool.

(he reminds me of Martin Luther king)
you know i have a dream that black people and white people will walk together and not be fighting. I have a dream that Khorne a tzeentch will march side by side slaughtering people.

Actually, unless I'm mistaken, you can have ANYTHING. Any of the psychic powers, the khornate chainaxes. Anything.

Just so long as it's on the models with the right mark.

well yeah you can but if you have them w/ those weapons they are khorne or tzeentch and count as elite now so its more limited.

Black Legion allows the lwast restrictions and most options.

Korne requires the least amount of actual tactics (sorry, but it's kinda true). Build a solid army list, and hope that your army freaks out and rolls big for rage.

But how often do you take more than 3 units of them? Besides, what else (other than a unit of obliterators) are you going to use your Elite slots for.

Chosen are hard to use properly (cost too much)
Possessed... Meh. I'd rather have a unit of Berzerkers a lot of the time.

I dunno man....if that was true, my friend who played Khorne would win a lot more games that he does. I think they're pretty difficult to play and I honestly wouldn't try, but that's because I don't like to use units that I don't have control over 100% of the time.

My fave is IW, but Black Legion are the easiest

From a fluffy standpoint, I have to go with Word Bearers or Thousand Sons.

Thousand Sons because I am ALL about sorcery... the fact that they're Chaos, honestly, has absolutely nothing to do with the army (and, for those that read up on them, technicaly the 1ksons have nothing to do with Chaos... they are simply the followers of Magus the Red, a powerful sorcerer. Ahriman created the Rubrics to AVOID the corruption of Chaos).

Word Bearers, on the other hand, are just COOL. An army of super-zealot priests that worship demons as the ultimate manifestation of their gods? Sweeeet. If it weren't for my deep love of sorcery these would be my army of choice... in fact my Chaos Lord for Tzeentch started life as a Dark Apostle.

Now, to answer the original question... which is easiest? That's a to ugh one, but I have to say Black Legion for all the reasons before... the nearly limitless choices. Once someone sees what's out there, then they can pull what mark they want and go from there.

yeah he does stop the choas from corrupting them. but thats beacause he want his chaos power to be 100% magic. all he wants is magic from the warp not the mutations and physical power.

Black Legion are the Ultramarines of Chaos.

I would say for fluff reasons, my favourite chaos army would be word bearers, dark apostle's, yes please!

But for a beginner, black legion.

skipper, I can see you like khorne, so do I, I have a 1500 khorne/undivided army, but sadly they are not the most easy to use. Sure there fluffy, but well, black legion are alot more diverse.

A beginners army.

I'd go with Black Legion if only to ensure that you can expand into different directions with other forces of Chaos rather than picking one that you'll get bored with and leave on the shelf in years to come.

Just ask yourself if you want to win or if you want to have fun :?:

if you want to win the go for iw as i think any timmy can win with 9 oblierators, dp , basilisk and a few preditors. !!!!! Sick !

if you want to have fun then go slan or nurgle

Black Legion.

And as for marked units, a Black Legion army CAN be lead by a MoK HQ, which means any unit in the army with MoK is not forced to Elite in the roster. Only restrictions limit you to not being able to take the opposing god marked units (Slaanesh.) I've always considered Black Legion Khorne army w/ some MoT elites (like a squad of rubi termies)

Black Legion are the Ultramarines of Chaos.
Shadow Corps:

yes they are the main type of chaos like ultramarines but the ultras turned to alpha leagion so technically, alpha legion=ultramarines, and i guess black templars?=black leqion.

actually i think black leqion was the first then marines started splitting up and finding their own diety.

Ultramarines and Alpha Legion were two totally seperate Legions. Neither of them "turned" anywhere.

Black Legion were the Luna Wolves(Sons of Horus). And Black Templars are a successor chapter from the Imperial Fists.

Each one of the Chaos Legions turned at different times. (Well most surprised the other Legions during the Heresy). The Black Legion were The Sons of Horus, they were changed to the Black Legion under Abaddon's rule. Only 4 of the Legions chose "their own deity" Most stayed undivided. Several don't even worship Chaos they just didn't like the way things were.
