So two things-smiles- firstly, what sort of gear should I run with a canoness. I know it all depends on the army and such, but is there some 'bare necessities' that most people like to run with?

Also, I heard, somewhere, that the Canoness has an ability like the librarian for space marines and that IG guy. t he orbital bombardment thing. is that true?

A Canoness does not have an orbital bombardment ability.

However, both Inquisition codexes have orbital bombardments available as heavy support. This means that you have to run an army primarily from the Witch Hunter (in your case) or Demonhunter codex to use these, as you can't take Heavy Support as an ally in a SM/IG army.

Yeah, but the bombardement is 100 points, which is way too much for something that scatters horribly in a random direction.

The issue with a canoness is usually the fact that she dies from a wound twice her toughness, instant death. I always tend to giver her the item that protects her from the first insta-death wound. For the rest I give her a relic weapon.

That's what I always do, as of lately she's been running with my seraphim so she also has a jumppack.

the book of st Lucius is a must have if other squads are not carrying it heavily. cloak of st aspira is huge (combine with an act of faith for a 2+ invulnerable save). and with T3, the mantle of ophillia will help her not go all squishy the first time she takes a str 6+ wound.

And maybe give her some shootin' iron (Inferno pistol springs to mind). Besides that, Red and Rahv have pretty much summed up the must-haves for a canoness :)

Ugh. Need to re-adjust that in my campaign.

I tend to stick her in a dominion sqaud and a rhino. Tends to allow me to charge pretty early on in the game. That with a blessed weapon, cloack, and mantle, will chew up most things. Except when you take out an ogryn squad in one turn, and can't consolidate behind cover and sit there in the middle of a large guard army.
