*cracks my neck as I grin.

Welcome my brethren in the gibbering hordes. For now you may call me Patriarch Mephaine, leader of the 40kForums Tyranid Cult. For months we waited the arrival of the great Hive Fleet 40kForums but to our horror the once glorious Nids had warped so beyond our recognition we cried in sadness. I personally led my disbelief and was outraged but now I realise this was pointless as this will be our position for years. The great unseen power has handed us a rabble and we shall refine it into the greatest of gems.

The purpose of this thread is for you to report a UNIT you have seen played or you used personally. We have alot of ground to cover but basically for us to grow lets not speculate. Play a unit or take notes of being played and report back to us.

Give it a good amount of detail. In this end I pray we can build a picture of personally experiences we have gone through and as such we can build the greatest Fleet to step into this Universe.

Hormaguaunts

Slashy death

Given Toxin Sacs, these guys can, and will kill anything. I've had them completely destroy entire units of Conscripts, Plague Marines and Great Unclean Ones in one turn of assault (though obviously not at the same time). In great number (really, anything around or above 15/brood) they are a force to be reckoned with and fairly difficult to get rid of without extensive template abuse. The only thing that detracts from their perfection is they still need Synapse. However, even without Synapse, they still do what you want them to do - get into combat as quickly as possible.

9/10, but only with Toxin Sacs.

100% agree with the above.

Special mention to "bounding leap" increasing running speed.

Even Hormies outside of synapse get to "feed" so its all good in my opinion.

Venomthrope: Bang in the middle of a swarm helps keep the homries alive and a bit more resistant to enemy fire.

6/10 on his own, but 9/10 when used correctly.

Unit Name: Tervigon
Description: Psychic powers
Effect on Battle: super awesome
Rating: 8/10

The termigaunts is spawns are fun but they die quickly. The run + shoot power means termigaunts, warriors, carni's, can cover lots of ground and shoot.
It actually makes the gaunts shooty weapons useful.

The feel no pain power speaks for itself.

I've tried using these things but they just never hurt anything! same with my opponents. They either fail the psychic tests, the strength 10 misses, or the penetration roll fails or only glances.
I gave it a 4/10 because I still have faith in it! and its one of the 2 pure anti-tank units nids got. If anything its good at absorbing enemy fire with the 3+ invulnerable.
---from now on I will proxy these guys in every nid game I play until they perform!

I'm going to have to argue against this. S10, AP1 Lance will do damage when it hits, and with Ld10 and BS4, it should be hitting more than missing. If this isn't popping tanks, then nothing can. The ONLY problem with it is range, and I'm going to say this in big capital letters; DEEP STRIKING IN A SPORE THEY ARE MORE THAN WORTH THE POINTS. Without the Mycetic Spore, Peacemaker has it spot on.

Zoanthrope - 4/10
Zoanthrope in a Mycetic Spore - 8/10

Unit Name: Death leaper
Description: Terrorism specialist
Effect on Battle: I chose my opponents lash prince as the target of his "its after me" rule and reduced 3 from his leadership (lucky) cam in turn 2 and hid. Then later on her jumped out of the trees to assault and kill 2 Oblits in CC, yay for 5&6 rending. not to mention the Prince failed his psychic test twice because of reduced leadership
Rating: 7/10 not higher because as stated luck was on my side for the leadership reduction roll

Couldn't agree more. Also couple in the wide spread of Shadow in the Warp there should be and it makes psykers very scared. I repeat myself when I say Death Leaper is how all Lictors should've been.

Fantastic work so far guys. Least we have some opinions. Personally I am going to be that moron and play test a Harpy. My reason why is this....I have always loved gargoyles and the excuse to field a really big one is enough for me. Still lets keep it up.

Yes he is the true lictor, and yes 1 of the 2 times he failed he was shadow of the warped by my warriors, but still would not have failed if not for the Death leaper , he rolled a 4,4,5
