I played my very first game ( Annihilation/Dawn of War/1500 points ) with my Nids vs SM and it was a great success. I blew his Razorbacks sky high using the Trannofexs and was wounding his Sternguard that were trapped inside. the six units of Warriors were all wittling away his troops with the Barbed Stranglers. Two units of Warriors faired well against one of his Terminator squads. And the Zoanthrops are awesome. After the Pod with my Doom came down it took out a Tactical Marine unit and a Dreadnought and lived the rest of the game to tell the tale. Here is what I had and also what I can remember he had.

HQ:
1 Tyranid Prime

Troops:
3 Warriors ( 2 with Talons/Devourers, 1 with Talons/Barbed Strangler )
3 Warriors ( 2 with Talons/Devourers, 1 with Talons/Barbed Strangler )

3 Warriors ( 2 with Talons/Devourers, 1 with Talons/Barbed Strangler )

Elites:
1 Doom of Malan'tai ( Mycetic Spore #1 )
2 Zoanthropes ( Mycetic Spore #2 )

Heavy Support:
1 Tyrannofex ( Rupture Cannon )

hum interesting, for some reason I feel he has 5 elites slots... and that he should have made short work of your army, tho if he was packing lots of missile launchers it would have been even better for him

You are correct, 4 at least if 2 squads of 5 sternguard where combat squads.

For some reason quite a few newer players think Pedro makes Sternguard troops, when he dosen't. Only scoring.

very true, and the fact that almost the entire nid army is trying to out shoot the SM and that the nids have to walk to get into range to do so makes me wonder how the SM lost

I'd guess on objectives, those warriors are 9 wounds a squad vs 5 a squad.

yeah but this was an annihilation match, yeah if it was objectives it would be better for this type of nid list but i personally think the SM could shoot the warriors off the objective on the nid side while holding his own.

Honestly the reason why I won is because having 2 Trannos did so much destruction to his vechiles early on, as well as the Zoans, and even the Doom did great... his army was really hurting.

And when he's getting transports blown up left and right, having six well rounded units each with 3 feet large blast pinning is just iceing on the cake.

I know I'm new and have a lot to learn, but for my first army I thought it performed exactly how I envisioned it to. Especially for it being Annihilation with minimum sized warrior units.
