I've been losing motivation for 40K for a while (waiting for updated Templars), so I thought I'd give Fantasy a try. A month or two ago I picked up the Beastmen Army Book, and I've been thinking I wanted to try out a Centigor/Minotaur army, because it's highly mobile and will get the charge in CC. So here goes.

Drop Minotaur great weapons for full command. At S5 you really don't need the +2 from it. You want an army that gets the charge, and the advantage of charging is going first, but you give that up for having weapons that are ASL. The banner will help in combat where the opponent will nearly always have a +2 or 3 Combat Res for ranks.

I was under the impression that having the charge took priority over ASL.

Only for the next 6 days. :P

Is it confirmed that they're going to change that rule?

Oh yeah, the GW shops have had the preview books about a month now. I've been playing 8th Ed games for the last week. Charging=+1 combat res.

So I'll have to change that around a bit, won't I? How you suggest I do that?

Yeah. You should get your hands on the new book soon because there are a bunch of new magic common items that are great. Your theme makes this hard though.

Mangelder Sucks. I'd give this guy Sword of Quarrel(40 Points, New MW, +2A) and the Uncanny Senses gift since attacks are all done in Initiative order. That's 7(with frenzy) S5 attacks at I5.

A BSB is definatly worth looking into because it allows all failed Ld tests to be re-rolled and Frenzied units can be restrained with an Ld test.

Large blocks of infantry are where it is at now. Casualties are removed from the back rank and if your unit has more ranks than the unit it is fighting, your unit is stubborn. I'd drop the Centigor unit without Ghorros for a unit of 24 Gors with Additional HWs and full command and put the BSB there.

Monsterous infantry giving supporting attacks can attack with up to 3 attacks each and you only need 3 models to have a rank. I'd merge two of these units into one of 5 Minotaurs and give them a musician(you can do fun reforms and such with a musician). Then put the Gorebull in the unit and run them 3x2. Give the unit of 3 Minos a Musician too.
