So i want something a bit ... what's the work, more seductive for my Keeper of secrets and daemon princes (Slaneeshish) and I was wondering if there are any other companies that make such models. If I could find a 3 up of valkyia (from the fantasy book) she'd work perfectly for the daemon princes, alas though, There is none I can find. and I have resolved to using forgeworld keepers for my keeper, but what to do about the daemon prince.

I've seen several conversions of Inquistor scale models being used for slaaneshy DPs/SGD.
check the GW site under specialist games for: "Severina and Sevora Devout"
it's a pair of death cult assissins in tight leather/latex suits.

that or try to get yourself the forgeworld keeper.

Need I say more? All you need to do is slap her on a round base and you're set! The paintjob shown doesn't do the model justice though, it really can look smokin' hot. XD

ah, a man/teenaged dude/boy after my own heart. I've been trawling ebay and various games sites to find similar figures. the one directly about is a good one, and its wings arent massive, so it might even get that cover save.

the forgeworld KoS is MILES ahead of/TONS better than/WAAAY sexier than the GW KoS...which honestly, is FUGLY.

here's what im planning on getting/painting/already have (lots of slashes, i know)

Already have: this is a model from Reaper Miniatures, she's a 72 mm Sophie the succubus. the wings are pretty huge though and will likely be the (often) death of her. very nice model though, never had that much fun painting something. i might get another and attempt green-stuffing her boobs so she's topless, but... that's yet to reach the top of my list.

The next one i'll tell about is pretty much a fully nude model, therefore
!!!NSFW!!!
this is a link to the site, follow it at your own risk (mods/admin, just yell at me if you want the link pulled off.)

http://www.arcaneminiatures.co.uk/jmd-miniatures.asp

The succubus model from JMD can probly work as either a slaanesh or a khorne DP, as long as you let yer opponents know first. (probly not so cool in official tourneys)

Also, there's the 'urban legend' Sophie from reaper, who gives you all the nakedness you'd want, plus a bit of convenient censoring. you can find her here: (also, NSFW)

http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/sophie/sku-down/01418

She is the same pose as the one i've painted but minus the loincloth and bra. as for my greenstuffing comment, i would actually like to keep the loincloth, so it doesnt SCREAM 'im a pervert'. i prefer to do that myself.

hehe, well, hope that helps. are just the DP's and KoS gonna be the more slaaneshi models, or did you locate the 6th edition metal daemonnettes too? theres a pile of em up for grabs right now, and not to worry, i have all that i'll need (for a while, anyway)

I have this model, she isn't big enough to be anything other than a Herald.

actually, sadly enough, she might be bigger than the GW keeper... theirs is just barely over 54mm scale.

oh and thanks tokolover, I forgot to search Reaper for anything larger than 54mm.... silly me.

Nah I've never even seen the 6th edition ones... but I do plan on using dark elf and dark eldar stuff for those.

as for the demon prince I do prefer the more... armored version, the ones you posted are great but we do have some kids that come to the shop, so I'd prefer some more.... shapely armored versions. but beggers can't be choosers.

That succubus model is around 28mm scale, about the size of a Space Marine, that's a 25mm square base she's on.

these are the 6th editions i was talking about

http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk57/GKTerminators/Miscelanious/CSM_lsr_dem_sln_lg.jpg

metal daemonettes that look far nicer than the newer plastic ones. i managed to scrap up, mostly through ebay, 120 of the suckers which is the most you could field in a single standard battle.

And while i understand that kids may be present at lgs, they have to grow up eventuallt, right? (mostly kidding, i plan on getting a couple of the DP kits from GW for games in public.)

No Bara, the one YOU have is a 28mm, there are multiple versions from reaper the one he posted was a 54mm. There is also aparently a 72mm version.

ive not see a larger than 28mm version of that model gendo. i think bara's right. possibly a slick herald, but certainly not a DP.

[edit]:Also that model's from freebooter minitures, not by reaper. yes, very similar, but not the same company.

ah, so that's not another sophie? sorry bara, thought that was the reaper mascot... on that note would the 72mm be big enough?

for that matter what about this by freebooter

she's 64mm

In reverse order...

It's a little confusing, 64mm is the height of the model, not the scale (the Succubus is 65mm high, but the model is about 30mm scale), that model is also about 30mm scale I believe.

54mm scale is a good size for a DP certainly, it's the same size as Inquisitor models. You could probably get away with it for a GD as well. I've never had a 72mm in the flesh in front of me, so I don't know if it would be too big (although this is only a problem if you are really bothered about TLoS).

alright, first off, someone tell me the height if the vanilla plastic daemon prince. once and for all. (i cant find anyplace that says how tall or wide it end up being)

and that model is certainly slaanesh qualified, but personally, i think she's a little too...erect, if you cant my meaning.

Gendoikari87
5th October 2010, 15:26
I think it's about 60mm high. while the above posted Horned succubus is actually 54mm High. about the same as the metal keeper. so it might work but it just seems ...somehow wrong, As the forgeworld keeper is 6 inches high

http://www.freebooterminiatures.de/sites/default/files/pub/shop/CHA005_mr_1_02.jpg
heres another she's 65mm high about 65mm scale (scale for minitures of this type I think are referred to how tall a normal human would be.}

I wouldn't be worried about anything being too big, so long as it's big enough.

i meant specifically the most previous model. i looked around on freebooter, but i didnt see any reference to size.

5th October 2010, 15:54
Just in case anyone missed it scale and height are not the same thing. The Succubus is (ignoring the wings) the height of a Space Marine, it is far too small to be a DP/GD.

65mm high does not mean 65mm scale. Freebooter's models are ideal for Heralds.

Found a pic of mine, head is the same size as GW's other 28mm parts if you look at the base.

EDIT2: that's a 40mm Termie base she's on btw, as is this model:

now, i KNOW a daemon prince isnt only 60 mm tall. it's likely much larger, perhaps around 80-90 mm. i was gonna stick my sophie on a base with a little more elevation if she needed it.

Gendoikari87
5th October 2010, 17:14
Yeah but if it's 65mm high it's big enough for at least a keeper.... That's about twice the size of the normal guardsman which is about an inch tall or 25-30mm.

isn't that the 28mm one though. I've seen some people using the 72 as a keeper ... oh and found another great model for a keeper... or GD of khorne

We had this conversation on page 1, there is only one size, it's not a Reaper miniature.

Gendoikari87

We had this conversation on page 1, there is only one size, it's not a Reaper miniature. ah... oh I see why now, she's about 40mm scale, not 65, she's 65mm tall, but that's because of the sword. I'd like to see some size comparisons of this one though.

http://www.freebooterminiatures.de/sites/default/files/pub/shop/CHA002_mr_01.jpg
The overall height on that ones only 54 but the highest point is here head and she's leaning over, so something like 60mm scale or something of that order. if not the 72mm reapers still work. and the dragon rider definately works.

actually if she's not too big she might be good for a fiend.... hmmm... what can I use other stuff in the codex chaos....

I should make a note here that the confusion comes from what the scale refers to, scale refers to the eye level hight, so while for most models standing it can be approximated to a degree as the overall height, it's not exactly the same. Also, free booter seemsto have no standard scale, the common ones are 15, 28, 54, and 72 They use almost random ones.

Edit: another thing, that all refers to HUMAN eye level height, not really alien or daemon....

I think I've decided on the models I'll use, what do you guys think. And bara your right those do make GREAT heralds, now if I can find the size comparison on the ones I want to use as fiends...

I chopped out the parts that didn't concern what I was going to comment on. Wings would neither grant the model, nor deny the model cover saves. Same with line of sight.

pg 16 - Check line of sight & pick a target - last paragraph right before the "own unit" section.
pg 21 - Cover Saves - When are models in cover? - first paragraph of listed section
pg 51 - Monstrous Creatures - Shooting - second paragraph of listed section
