The Valdia System is a group of six planets that orbit a red giant.

The system is governed by three forces: The United Planets, Mega Corporations and Clans.

In the year 3317, you find yourself as the sole leader of a new company of Mercs. It is your business to sell the firepower of your pilots and their massive Mech suits to those willing and able to pay for the service. You have a license to operate anywhere in the system in the only legal form of war, sabotage and murder.

As head of your company, you will be responsible for every aspect of your company except direct combat. This is the reason why you must hire the best pilots and weapon jocks that the system has to offer. Customize your mechs, your flight roster, and tactics. Negotiate with officials, CEOs and intergalactic criminals to make your mark on the universe. Line your coffers and watch your back...plenty of other Merc companies want a smaller field of competition.

************************************************** ****************************

United Planets: The government of the Valdia and other inhabited systems. Often looking for freelance militant forces, they pay to enforce peace. While the rewards might be lower than certain criminal undertakings, every mission is sanctioned and considered for the good of the colonies.

Mega Corporations: Massive companies that lead the universe in technology development and manufacturing. They pay well to protect their continent sized factories as well as the secrets held within. Often they are willing to look on the outskirts of the law for an edge over the competition.

Clans: These mercenary groups have a long tradition of selling their might for power. The top Clans rival the power of any other military force in the system. The Clans don't mind the smaller competition picking up scraps, but getting on the bad side of these groups can have disastrous effects. They do occasionally look for new members and allies.

************************************************** ****************************

GAMEPLAY

Your basic goal in this game is to build up your company into the finest Merc force in the system. You must traverse the delicate social and business networks of the Hub, a massive space station in orbit over Valdia Prime.

To achieve this goal you need 3 things: Mechs, Pilots and Contracts

Mechs: Massive tools of war. These machines carry all manner of weapons from machineguns and laser rifles to missile systems and energy bombs.

Pilots: Every turn of the Hub brings in a dozen new rookies fresh from the algae farms, manufacturing rings or planetary guard of their home systems. Each is looking to make their fortune or get the rush that only mech combat can bring. Pilots have 3 things that must be noted: Stats, Traits, Salary. this will be covered more below.

Contracts: You will need to purchase contracts if you wish to survive. Negotiate with handlers and brokers to get the best deals or the best jobs. Developing trust and a working reputation will be key to building your empire.

************************************************** ***************************

Pilots
Skill: A measurement of their pure talent in a mech
Leadership: Ability to follow orders and to lead a team
Traits: Special abilities that will dictate how they function both on the battlefield and in a social sense
Salary: The initial cost of hiring the pilot to your company, and the salary they receive for each mission

************************************************** ***************************

Basic Order of events for a mission

-Negotiate and accept a contract.
-Prepare Mechs: Buy, Repair, Arm and upgrade the mechs in your garage.
-Assign pilots to the mission and their mechs. Choose one to lead the team.
-Hire a Dropship to carry the team to the target location.
-Launch the mission.
-Reap reward upon success and repeat.

This is the post to watch for information, character details, mech details and any sort of broad information. Keep in mind that finding pilots and mechs to buy is more about your individual RP than my posting lists. We'll start with some extra background information. These are not the only examples:

Valdia System

Valdia--A red giant 50% larger than Sol. A much younger star that burns brightly.
Valdia Prime--A large world in Valdia's sweetzone that has been terraformed to support human life. 5 continents flourish with massive cities. It is illegal to perform any operations with 100 miles of any city on Prime. Moons: 1, military fortified
Valdia 2--A massive world made of barren rock and chemical seas. Moons: 6, 3 rock, 1 ice, 2 water
Valdia 3--Located at the farthest orbit from its mother star, this planet is covered in massive ice sheets and glacial flows. No Moons
Valdia 4--A small planet of silicates and rock. High winds and constant dust storms make this a dangerous operation zone. Moons: 2, 1 rock, 1 ice
Valdia 5--A middle sized planet known as Shadow. Unique electromagnetic fields cause this planet to keep one side to Valdia for most of it's orbit. The day side is a volcanic wasteland, while the dark side is a cold desert. Moons: 7, 2 ice, 2 rock, 1 volcanic, 2 change as they orbit
Valdia 6--Also known as Eden, this planet is a smaller version of Valdi Prime minus the cities. This planet house beautiful jungles, beaches, seas, and mountains. Eden is a paradise for those who can afford to buy veritable palaces on her surface. Moon: 1, rock

Mega Corporations

Frontier Foods--Main manufacturer of the System's food stuffs and purified water. Major government contracts. Factory site: Valdia 2

Nexus Corp--A leading manufacturer of Mech technology and weapons of war. Factory site: Valdia 3. Head Quarters: Valdia Prime.

Dynatix--A leading design and maker of weapons technology. Factory site: Valdia 2. Head Quarters: Valdia 6

United Bank of Valdia--The UP's main banking and investment company.

Clans

Scythe of God--An old order that far predates the discovery of the Valdia system. Known best now for their work in the Cachan Wars of 3025. They are said to be a very ritualistic group, though they no longer work as religious agents.

Tigers of Valdia--A major player in all big events in the system. To cross the Tigers is to die. They are without mercy when it comes to protecting the clan.

Black Hand--An incredibly mysterious group. Members do not wear identification as such. Their workings are highly guarded secrets. Often those who take contracts against them wind up dead in their dropship before the mechs even launch.

Men of Iron--An open union of mech pilots and company owners. An alliance based on need, honor and strength in numbers. While this clan operates without secrecy or ritual, the members are incredibly loyal and believe in their cause.

Mechs
Each mech is different, and each allows the player to customize it further. Here is a quick guide to the interchangeable parts of mechs:

Linked Arms: The arms of the mech share the same weapon split between sides
Linked Arms x2: The mech has four arms, 2 pairs of weapons linked as above
Arm (Arm x2): The arms of the mech can each hold a separate weapon
Arm x4: The mech has four arms, each may hold a different weapon
Missile Arm Systems: The mechs arms may only be equipped with missile and rocket weapons.
Shoulder: The mech has a shoulder mount for weaponry. Any shoulder mount may be used for missiles.
Chest: The mech has enough room within its torso for a weapon mount.
Shielding: The mech has an energy shield which helps to divert damage from most weapons, especially energy based weapons.
Enhanced or Advanced Systems: The mech has better systems in a particular field. Two mechs might treat the same enhanced system in different ways, inquire to a mechanic if you are curious.

************************************************** *******************************

Modules: Modules are modifications that alter the performance of a Mech. Modules are rated in Sizes and each Mech has a Module Size. A Mech can have Modules that have a total size less than or equal to the Mech's Module Size (Thus a Drake with a Module Size 3 can have 3 Size 1 Modules, 1 Size 1 Module and 1 Size 2 Module, or 1 Size 3 Module. It cannot mount Size 4 Modules)

Enhanced Range (Size 1) - This Module allows for better tracking of distant targets, granting an increase in effective range

Enhanced Reflex Systems (Size 2) - This Module allows the Mech to respond and move quicker, giving a bonus to avoid some attacks

Enhanced Armor (Size 2) - This Module, coupled with servos and special armor, allows the armor to react to incoming attacks and reduce damage

Enhanced Relay (Size 1) - This Module allows the Mech to relay targeting and sensor information to other Mechs

Anti-Aircraft Targeting (Size 1) - This Module is designed against aircraft, and give the Mech a accuracy bonus against all very fast moving targets

Ammunition Reserves (Size 2) - This Module contains empty space and ammo feeds, allowing each of the Mech's ammunition-based weapons (Excluding missiles) to carry an extra 50% the amount of ammo

Enhanced Targeting (Size 2) - This Module tracks and automatically adjusts the Mech's weapons, giving an increase in accuracy

Enhanced Mobility (Size 2) - This Module contains improved gyroscopes and balancing equipment, giving the Mech an increase in speed

Signal Cover (Size 4) - This Module incorporates a special mesh coating of the Mech's skin, decreasing detectability drastically. Mechs designed to use this module gain a significant advantage over those that do not

Enhanced Power Generator (Size 6) - This Module allows the Mech greater power to apply to its shields, engines, energy weapons, and other systems.

Sensor Drone (Size 2) - This Module launches a small sensor drone that relays information back to the Mech, grating a larger sensor coverage and resistance to sensor disruptions

Enhanced Defenses (Size 3) - This Module contains laser arrays, flechette launchers, and chaff launchers designed to foil any type of incoming weapons.

Advanced Recoil Support (Size 2) - This Module takes control of some of the Mech's movement systems while firing, decreasing the effects of recoil.

Enhanced Computing (Size 3) - This Module takes over some of the Cortex's functions, granting redundancy in case of a damaged cortex and giving a boost to range and targeting while the Cortex is fully functional

Shielding (Size 3) - This Module grants the Mech a shielding system

Enhanced Jets (Size 4) - This Module grants the mech additional jet capabilities, although not to the level of designed mechs or aircraft.

Advanced Defensive Grid (Size 6) - This Module is similar to the Enhanced Defenses Module, except that it is programmed to defend allies in addition to the Mech it is mounted on

Repair Systems (Size 4) - This Module contains damage control systems, enabling the Mech to effect some automatic repairs to its systems in-battle.

Enhanced Shielding (Size 5) - An improved and more powerful form of shielding

Holo-Generator (Size 5) - A specially designed drone is sent out, mimicing the sensor signature and visual appearance of the Mech

************************************************** *******************************
Ammunition Upgrades

Incendiary: Incendiary Ammunition ignites to incredible temperatures, causing internal damage to the target Mech's systems - Or causing massive damage to ground targets.

Ranger Rounds: Ranger Rounds sacrifice power for increased range and accuracy

Slug (Shotgun only): Slugs are a large chunk of metal, sacrificing range and accuracy for raw power.

High Explosive (Rifle/MG Only): High Explosive rounds carry a miniature warhead in their tip, exploding after either a proximity fuse or impact fuse has tripped. HE rounds also grant additional accuracy against aircraft.

************************************************** *******************************

Weaponry

There are 7 basic types of weaponry: Energy, Rifle, Machinegun, Cannon, Missile, Rocket, and Shotgun

-Energy: Weapons that fire a concentrated laser. Variable speeds and focal ranges.

-Rifle: Long range, slow fire rate. This includes everything from the most basic shell weapon to the most advanced sniper system.

-Machinegun: High speed shell weapon with typically lower range than counterparts.

-Cannon: High Caliber trajectory based weapon, typically explosive in nature.

-Shotgun: An incredibly powerful weapon with short range and a spread pattern. Recently developments have been made in a laser equivalent.

-Missile: High power explosive weapons housed within a vessel that has higher versatility of range and targeting over other weapons.

-Rocket: High power explosive weapons that fire in a straight path from the launcher. While they are self propelled, they cannot correct trajectory like missiles. Often rockets fire in large bundles to maximize efficiency and damage.

************************************************** *******************************
Dropships

-Air Drop: A low Altitude drop that requires jump jets to be used for landing. Can be Inaccurate and result in a scattered force. Dangerous in an active battle zone: 200 credits
-Combat Landing: A fast insertion during which the ship touches down just long enough to unload mechs. Fairly Accurate, no scatter. Dangerous in an active battlezone: 800 credits
-Assault Landing: A fast insertion from an armed assault lander. Accurate unless too heavily fired upon. Safest way to enter an active combat zone under fire: 2000 credits
-Orbital Drop: A blazing drop in a landing sphere. Accurate to within a meter, able to avoid enemy fire until planet-side. Safest way to drop, unless under fire at landing zone: 1500

************************************************** *******************************

You'll notice I left out price and specific weapons. This is up to you to find. In general Each weapon type has several variations available to you at all times. Higher rate of fire, Higher power, Longer range, etc. Keep in mind, only energy weapons are free to relaod.

************************************************** *******************************

The Hub

The Hub is a massive space station. There are bars on every floor where you can socialize and make contacts. The top floors are restricted access for VIP guests and residents, your license does not allow you in these areas. Your housing is in the middle levels. Garages are on the lower levels as are most mechanics. The lowest levels house less reputable things. As you go higher in the station the classier the surroundings get. Items can often be purchased on any level, with cost and legality being variable. When you want to go to a particular place (i.e. bar or weapon shop) specify a level. For ease we will use only 6 levels. Remember in seedier areas of the station...there may not be true shops...so knowing where to find a particular person might be a requirement (or hunting for someone). Level 1 is the lowest and shadiest area, level 6 is the VIP area.

************************************************** ****************************

I do believe that's all you need. I apologize if things are not clear, please pm or post questions here, otherwise you are free to start posting what sort of actions you want to take. Please be careful to put all character talking in quotes to be separated from character actions. You may also choose to make player actions different than character by way of italics or something. Just please make it clear for my ease. Good luck everyone!

************************************************** ****************************

You step off the transport shuttle and feel the first grip of artificial gravity on the Hub. In front of you, security personnel watch over the unloading. Men in ragged clothes offer to carry your bags, others in finer suits seem to be looking for particular passengers.

You notice that many passengers are wearing the same digital armband as you, indication of Mercenary Operator License. Apparently you picked a fine time to arrive, plenty of competition to keep the thrill alive. It's time to start your new life and your new company. Your 50,000 credits is ready to work for you. Good Luck Boss!

Naron walks to the elevators, giving one of the men in suits a brief nod if he catches their eye. After punching that he wants to go to the 4th floor he tries to find a bar and stir up some talk with the bartender, attempting to get the locations of the best places to buy some mechs on the station (combination of quality and lowest prices is what I'm looking for).

Stepping off the shuttle, Operative black takes a deep breath, enjoying the smell of opportunities in the air.

Dressed all in black, he blends into the shadows between the shuttles and other items within the bay, moving with confidence and purpose, noticing that the gravity of the hub is slightly higher than that he is used to.

Tightening the black bandana upon his head, hiding the operative tattoo that all of his mean wear in the centre of the forehead, he heads towards the levels stairs, and heads downwards towards the lower levels of the station.

Heading lower than many would think wise, Operative Black enters the second level of the station, noticing a small boy he asks him where he can find information on good places to find mechs and pilots, a pair of low denomination coins in his hand, as the boy finished, he throws him the coins.

(I'll decide what to do with the information once I hear it :P)

The bartender welcomes you, "New arrival, boss? I'm Nigel, let me know anything you need." He slides you a drink, "First round's on me. Mechs? There's a Nexus rep shop on this floor and Dynatix has a garage a few levels up (5). If you want real parts or new equipment, those are your best bets. There is a pretty good dealer a few level down (3) that offers used or repossessed equipment. These aren't the only places even on those levels...but they're the ones I hear guys talking about most in here."

Norman steps out, classily dressed in a 3 piece suit. adjusting his tie, he heads toward a preferably classy bar to look for information and possibly some off-duty pilots.

"My name is Bennet. In my line of work, I meet many capable pilots. I can organize some meetings for you. Anything in particular you are seeking?"

After a few hours you have noticed three people. One is very easily cheating in a game of cards. One has a Special Forces tattoo on his arm. The third has won every game of pool she has played and has quite a profit from wagers.

Lex got of the shuttle and headed for level 3,looking for a pub to find some pilots. You enter the bar...it's filled with semi-rowdy patrons and bar games. The Bartender nods as you enter and places a napkin on the bar. A moment later a patron comes up for another pint; he looks at you, noting the armband and says, "What brings you to the Hub, Boss?"

Play a few games of cards with the guys, and ask them if they are interested in piloting mechs The group chuckles as the game ends. Flint says, "We haven't had steady work in a while. We'd be interested if you're the kinda boss we want.

Naron waits at his office for the pilot to show up. Trent knocks on your door and enters. He smiles and says, "That's a nice machine you've got down there. I'm looking forward to getting behind the stick."

"This is a bit too public for my liking, I was looking for someone a bit more independant. And a bit darker as well if you get my drift." Hexor hands the man another 20 credits. "Know of any such place?" The man nods. And a few minutes later you find yourself in a garage full of parts and weapons near the Hub's reactor. When you inquire as to the owner of the 'establishment', the man places your bag on the ground and spreads his arms. Suddenly the man's accent changes (he's Irish in my head), "I'd be more'n happy to find whatever you need, the name's Gaelen" The man pulls a datascreen from his coat and hands it to you.

*More than likely, if you want it, he'll be able to get it (rather than me making a list). figure out the basic list of what you want and I'll then put together a price list and such. The beauty of the shady dealers is not having to stick to what's in stock*

Bennet turns and says, "Well Mr. Norman, what can we buy for you today?"

Patricia leads you in. The merchant greets you, and after a few minutes of talk he hands you a list of what he has readily available.

-Drake: 10000
-Zealot: 18000
-Patriot: 14000
-Hammer: 24000

Patricia suggests that she would most prefer the Hammer or Zealot. Zealot specifically if she has backup, due to it’s light nature (not a huge deal at first, PERHAPS)

"alright let's check out Nexus first, if the price is too high or if we need something else after that we can check out the lower levels."
Lex get's up and pays for his drink and pratchett's too.

"care to come along?" *You have your choice of any Nexus or Independent mech*. Everything below is in character of Pratchett simply conversing with you.*

Pratchett suggests the Patriot for its cost and versatility. He suggests that a Hammer might augment a force well by adding in a slightly heavier mech. The Zealot is an excellent choice for an assault heavy light mech as part of the team. Tempest is a good choice for missile support. He suggests that the Scribe and Reaper are both excellent mechs. Reaper is better stand-alone and scribe is invaluable for a well-constructed team. Crisis would work well with either other fast mechs (zealot, drake, aviator), or as a fast component of a supported team. The War Yak is the best balanced mech on market here. If you want a focus on heavy weapons with smaller support mechs, the Governor is an excellent choice. And if you want to dominate mech equivalents…the Judge is one of the finest craft I’ve seen.

"I'll take the Yak for now, but keep the others on standby, I'll definately be back for them. Now, would you know any place around here I can find a pilot for that beast, and a good source of contracts?" “There is a bar around the corner where some of my associates spend time. "If you need to then use the War Yak as a shield for the supplies. I don't really like to see ammunition being wasted but use however much it takes to make sure all threats are eliminated.”

Valdia 3:
The roar of the drop ship’s engines cuts the icy winds. There is a concussive boom as the War Yak is deployed. Trent fires up all systems and quick-tests all control surfaces. The drop ship managed to put you right next to a shuttle. Loading suits are moving large crates. It looks like the process will take a few hours.
Trent diverts power to the radar and settles himself looking across the ice flats around the landing platform. There is a subtle blip, but Trent immediately turns the massive craft. The blip disappears. The War Yak moves between the shuttle and the general position of the radar signal. He redistributes the power evenly along all systems and switches to visual across the clear icescape. Ten minutes pass; the last few crates are being loaded. Trent has a visual before the radar fires a warning. He spins the torso of the craft and squeezes the trigger. The twin machineguns roar to life kicking up a blizzard of snow. A small camouflaged craft skims across the snow, narrowly avoiding hail of bullets. The Yak’s arm flies forward and its rifle barks twice. The small craft is blown off balance by the slugs. Another shot rips open the hull of the craft in a blaze of fuel. Trent keeps the mech’s facing as three more of the skimming craft swarm in. One explodes in the torrent of machinegun fire. Rifle fire follows one, eventually clipping and destroying it. The last craft narrowly dodges from the massive mech’s firepower.
The shuttle has finished loading and the workers have taken shelter. As its engines come to life, the small craft fires a salvo of small rockets. Trent moves the Yak in a fluid motion that belies its bulk. He pushes the throttle open beyond its threshold and jets the craft in front of the rockets. The machinegun fire tears through the rockets and the skimmer. There is a furious series of explosions as the shuttle safely lifts off and breaks into orbit.
Trent sweeps the landscape with his scanners, and then flips open a com channel.

Hey guys, my apologies for the slow down. I'm currently entertaining family in town. This has unfortunately included a broken hip and hospital/ER visits. I'll slowly update what I can. The two missions might take longer than the quick stuff for other guys. Please bear with me, and I will hopefully get one 'quick' update a day over the next short period. Most likely this will occur in my late evenings (East US). Please remember that it is my pleasure to bring you a fun experience and a unique game, and I will do as much as i can to keep everything going smooth even if slow.

"Sounds good, get that mech set up for me. Mind if I drop your name for finding some good pilots?" Hexor heads to the suggested bar and makes some inquiries into a pilot or two. He drops the merchants name if it helps and if he told him it was ok. If he didn't I'll just go without. As soon as you say Gaelen's name you see a few heads turn. And a man approaches you, "You want some crew? Why don't you grab a drink and come talk with me"

Norman awaits his team, while they do that he looks to see if he can't backed afew credson his own, most likely through trading (buying things low price and selling them higher elsewhere) Without a way to fund the initial purchase of materials, I can't really allow anything here. Sorry toko, I'll have to ask you to wait until i have time for a mission write-up (maybe tonight)

Sigz walks up to the man playing darts and asks if he'd like to play a friendly game. Halfway through the game Mr. Sigz says, "I wondered if you'd be up for some mercenary work.""Been a while since I had steady work, I could be convinced to work with you."

"hmmm the War Yak seems like a nice choice to start with, what would be the price if i add a missle pod to the shoulder, a cannon for the arms and a machinegun in the torso?"
"The War Yak itself is 47000 credits. Our advanced missile system will be an additional 3000. I have a grenade launcher system newly in stock that will cost you 2400, and a Nexus Chain Gun is 2000"

Pratchett tells you that all these options are higher class than what is needed at this juncture. The Grenade Launcher is an excellent system with cheap and effective ammo. He suggests that you can find much cheaper missiles and machine guns...either from nexus or from another dealer. He adds that typically a bulk purchase would allow for a decent discount of 5% or more.

while the team is on mission, Operative Black decides to explore his surrounding a bit more, and will head to level 2 in order to find a slightly, higher class of bar.

Before he does, he Dresses in an expensive black suit with a black silk shirt and tie, leaving the black bandana upon his forehead however. *I do believe you were on level 2, so I'll move you to 3 for this.*

You notice that in general this is a higher class area. Merchants with established shops, rather than small places devoid of actual merchandise. There are a few bars as well.

"Alright boys. Time to get you guys the Mechs for the job. Know any decent places?"
"Define decent...There are a few people we can talk to. They can find things off station at prices that would make you think they simply fell off the transport...And there are other places on other floors."

After looking through the perks of each, he takes Patricia's preference into account. A happy pilot is an effective pilot.

"The Hammer would be lovely" He says to the Merchant. "Now what can I do about arming it? Preferably I'd like a Machine Gun and a Missile shoulder-mount. Can I get them here or where can I find them?"
"I can get you a Dynatix MG and some SYStern missiles for about 2400, if that's what you'd like"

No problems, as much as we want a good game, we want you to be ok. Update as you can and feel better Arch.

Oh no worries, it's not my hip. I just have to do a lot of driving and time organizing. Lex, my apologies for not having a price list for you of all nexus craft. But generally if you look at what others have paid (or initial retail cost...not haggled or discounted) then that should show you generally what things will cost.

I will try to get some more info down soon, possibly after dinner tonight.

FOR LEX: Nexus price sheet

-Tempest: 16k
-Zealot: 20k
-Hammer: 24k
-Crisis:30k
-Patriot: 16k
-War Yak: 47k
-Governor: 60k
(if I told you different before, then it was dealer price after any sort of negotiation...use THAT price)

Head towards the classiest looking bar, and ask around about the possibilities of better contracts
You find what seems to be an established pub with a good decor, that relates a quality place without the pretension of higher class. Poking around reveals that there are many Merchants (level 3) that are having trouble competing. Either their shipments are getting stolen, damaged or otherwise waylaid. In order to keep competitive discounts without losing everything to criminals they need help guarding an even procuring merchandise. They are often willing to pay several thousand for these services.

"Having a veteran on the team would be a great asset to Black Owl Corp. I can give you 17,000 credits to purchase any gear you need. You can also help pick the rest of your team if you like. Also, if you have any friends in need of work they'd be first on my list for potential hires. So Mr. Graves, do we have a deal?" Deacon considers the offer and nods, "So my contract and 14k for equipment of my choosing?" (this won't really buy too much more than a very light mech and a single weapon, unless the 17k is on top of his contract. Please clear that up for me so I can better help you.) "I'll make some calls and see what I can do about other pilots. In the mean time, you should look into other equipment and some jobs." Deacon thanks you for the contract and leaves. (I have ideas on what he'll get with either amount of money, so just let me know)

Hexor gets a drink at the bar and covers the mans tab, then casually heads over to his table along with another of what he's drinking. "I do happen to be looking for some good crew," he says as he sits down and hands the man his drink. "Gaelen told me this was the best place to find them."
"Gaelen is a trustworthy business man, even if his sources are less than credible. I have a small crew of people, all have worked with me before and with Gaelen as well. There are some disreputable pasts, but they are a good team, and clean...no murderers or any scum like that. If you want, we're in for 10000 credits, as well as you covering equipment of course. I want to keep my two guys with me, so if you can trust me, I'll deliver. If not, thanks for the drinks."

"Excellent. We'll go find these men that you guys can talk to! Lets get this circus running."

Randy hands you a data screen and asks you to write a list. Then you can try to find everything you want from one of their contacts. *List out what you want (and can reasonably afford...keeping in mind level 1 prices are gonna be considerably less due to 'delivery methods')* Also maybe weapon types and the range/strength/speed of weapon you want. Then I'll do your shopping and get back to you with some bundled deals. Maybe make a couple lists or an A/B choice for things.*

Contract
Type: Defend
Target: Shipment Transfer
Zone: Valdia 4

Reward: 7500 credits

Combat Landing

Team
- Flint Thompson: Skill 7, Leadership 6, Big Brother: Flint is incredibly protective of his team, especially his brother Mark, 200 salary
(Hammer: Nexus Battle Rifle Arms, Dynatix Assault MG Shoulder)

- Mark Thompson: Skill 5, Leadership 4, Rookie: Mark does not have much combat experience, 200 salary
(Patriot: Nexus Battle Rifle Arms, Dynatix Assault MG Shoulder)

Orders[b]

“Flint is to stand back and defend the target while mark patrols the perimeter, if attacked mark is to attack while flint gives covering fire. In the event of a larger than light attack, the two are to take defensive positions, if a very light threat occurs, go with the previous plan”

Valdia 4:
High winds roar across the surface of the world. Comm chatter from the cockpit of the drop ship informs the team that a precise insertion is impossible but they can touch down within 10 miles of the target. Upon debarkation Flint and Mark do a quick check and rebalance their mechs for the winds and low visibility. Mark is receiving radar glitches, so Flint takes point. Both bring their thrusters to life and begin skimming across the landscape. Within 3 minutes the duo has reached the site and everything seems to be in working order. Two shuttles lie on landing pads above you, which are attached to a small complex. Crates are being transferred between the two.
Visibility has not improved and without reliable radar function, Mark takes a forward position, while flint diverts power to sensors. One hour passes with little more than dust storms. Suddenly a salvo or rockets explodes around Mark’s craft. Mark dodges backwards with minor damage from the blast. Flint’s radar is now abuzz with craft that used the cover of the wind to approach. There are only two contacts, but both seem to be well armed. Another rocket salvo bursts through the swirling dust.
Flint nimbly adjusts the craft and opens fire with all guns. He is rewards by the loud thuds of machinegun and rifle fire hitting a target. Flames from the hit also give better visibility. Mark opens fire as well riddling the damaged craft with holes and scoring a hit on a fuel or ammunition supply. The craft explodes in a dazzling torrent of fire. The second craft has now flanked the team and fires rockets at the landing platform. The shuttle takes many hits and is jarred from its perch. It spins across the platform, smashing crates and equipment alike.
The two pilots fire into the storm; machineguns blaze without luck, but both rifles manage to score a series of hits, and the second craft explodes with minimal additional fire. The shuttle is mostly intact, but unable to fly. The bulk of the cargo is also intact. The undamaged shuttle takes off, as reinforcements and repair crews are called in. Several hours later Mark and Flint are able to request evac as a replacement transport carries the rest of the cargo away.

"The silo is out of the question at that budget. Even the Weaver and Magus will be difficult for under 30k. Those two mechs alone will probably run 32k (we might be able to find a few thousand off). The two missile sets you want will cost probably about 2200. And after that the laser systems are gonna cost at least 2k, if you are set in what you want." (36200 estimate without any dealing or changes, I have already subtracted the 1k you paid for contracts, and of course there is the 10k you will owe after the first mission. So if you settled up now you will have 'spent' 47200).

The 17k is on top of the contract. If he picks up another pilot they can also spend 17k on top of their contract (naturally I'd like to see their stats before hiring them). Also, I assume by other equipment he means weapons and mech upgrades?

Use the fact my pilots are in the bar, and hopefully not drunk, to my advantage, pointing them out and stating they just came back from a successful mission.
Mark and Flint explain that there was an error with one of the radars due to the planet's winds. To compensate the other diverted power to sensors, which in turn slowed reaction. The enemy managed to sneak up in the dust storm and strike first. While the damage was limited on the mechs, the one lucky shot of rockets managed to do some damage to the target.

While you are all celebrating, a man walks up "You seem to have a very close group here...perhaps you are looking for a reason to celebrate further?"

Lex sighs and turns around.
"well this is all very much over my price range, let's just take the patriot and get our weapons somewhere else." **Is it really out of budget? You have 42500...granted you can't buy a fleet of big mechs...but you should be able to get a decent haul. Both ships land with a solid boom, cushioned from harm by precision jets.

“Felix, give me a full sweep, I’m going dark.”

The Templar’s radar reaches out. The signal flows over the rock outcrops and across the world’s surface. The Mantis’s signal pings, pings and then is gone.

“You’re clean, John. No contacts.”
“Maintain visual on my position and follow back and right. I’ll paint what targets I can.”
“Aye.”

The two craft push their throttles and take off towards the original dropzone. The Templar allows the other craft to pull away, putting some distance between the two. After a few minutes, the team is at the edge of the original drop zone.

“Hold up, Felix. I’m going to slide in here and see what the situation is. Cover the left cliff edge.”

John maneuvers into the zone, the mantis’s systems covering its signal and heat traces. As the craft enters the clearing of rock, John pulls back on the throttle. The Mantis stops and raises its guns.

“~Felix, I have multiple contacts in this clearing. Drone craft, three so far. Looks like we were expected, stay frosty. I’m going to make a pass through at full bore, see if I can’t take one down and bring the rest with me. Cover that small outcrop on your left, that’s where I’ll be sweeping out~”

“Got it.”

Suddenly John’s signal cover is gone, as his engines roar to full power, and his craft explodes into motion. As he sweeps forward and left around the cliff, he opens his weapons and lays down a hail of fire. Within moments one of the craft explodes and the second takes heavy damage. The damaged craft begins pursuit but misses its own return fire. The remaining craft hangs back, but manages to clip the Mantis with its rifle. The mantis skims around the cliff and out past the templar. As the pursuit craft emerges, Felix steps in front of it and opens his shotgun and machinegun. Felix smiles a split second before depressing the trigger and decimating the target.

“Felix, I have no line on the third. We’re hot, so fire back up all sensors.”
“He’s bugging out north west at full speed. I think he’s got buddies, he’s looking to find.”
“Go high and take him out, I’ll push forward on dark and see if I can get the drop on anything else.”

Felix’s jets open and blue flames burst out as he lifts above the Cliffside. He picks up the fleeing craft on his HUD and lines up his rifle. He squeezes the trigger and a few seconds later the target lurches forward and crashes to the ground as its body is ripped open by the massive shell.

“Neutralized, following on your six”

John pushes forward, slowly exploring for any threats. He comes across a density of rocky spires and sees a wrecked convoy of heavy trucks.

“Felix, I think I’ve got the banking transports. They’ve been abandoned, but I think we’re close to any other contacts and possibly the shipment.”
“Coming up on your right.”
“Alright, I’m tired of these guys, fire up full sensors and let’s take them down.”

Felix diverts power to his sensors and sweeps the area.

“Multiple contacts ahead, grouped. Getting engine chatter from a mech, make undetermined.”
“Push out right and just lay down fire. Pick off whatever you can with your rifle. I’ll move in from the upper left and see what I can do.”

Felix guns his engines and skims out far to the right. He opens fire with his machinegun as soon as the enemies are in sight. He peppers one of the craft with bullets, causing visible damage and finishing it off with a fatal shot from his rifle. As he continues moving, the remaining two drones move in and open fire with their rifles. Two shots hit the Templar. One staggers the craft, and the second causes significant damage to the machinegun system. Felix pulls up and out of the fire while turning his rifle on the two craft. The first shot blows through the target and tears half its internal systems out the back. The second craft seems to have had a weapon malfunction and gets off only a single wild shot before Felix turns on it. The craft rolls and crashes forward as the shot plows into it.

“John, my MG is down, and the drones have been neutralized. I got a brief look at the mech before it slipped your way. Pretty sure it’s a Tempest, watch for missile locks.”
“Ok, pull back, Felix. Put your back to the cliff with the convoy. Keep a sweep going, and just unleash all weapons on any target. I’ll see if I can draw him out.”

John moves through the crags of the rocks. Suddenly he gets a warning alarm of a weapons lock. He slams the throttle open and the stick to the right. A missile sails past the mantis and destroys a spire of rock where the mech had been. John rolls back and opens fire blindly with his machine gun. He clips the Tempest, and then has a misfire before he ducks back down the cliff. Another missile explodes just behind the mantis, throwing the craft forward further. John skims out of the rocks and past the Templar. Felix waits for the Tempest to appear, and fires a full shotgun salvo into the mech. The Tempest counters with lasers which are deflected by the Templar’s shielding. John turns his Mantis and attempts to reopen fire. The ammo feed clears, and the barrels blaze to life again. The combined fire of both mechs cripples the target quickly. Upon securing the enemy and the site, John scans the area and discovers a hidden truck beneath a camouflaged cover. He knocks the back hatch off, and inside is a palette of printed currency and bonds.

FOR EVERYONE: Please look at your character sheet and let me know if it is up to date with all your equipment. If something is missing, let me know what section needs updating in your next post. Thanks.

If its cheaper I'd like rockets instead of missiles. Looking for something with more boom and ammo. If it ain't then I'll just take the original loadout.

After that I'll return to the wretched hive of scum and villainy to get a high-paying job. *It will be 1000 less over all on the total cost. Also it will be cheaper to replace. You lose tracking, but gain an extra 6 shots on each. So confirm and I'll change it (keep in mind missiles are much better, but more costly).*

You are on level 1. Where would you like to look for scum and villainy that pays for jobs?

"Sounds good." Hexor wanders around Gaelen's garage a bit looking at the few items he actually has in stock as he waits for some contract info.
"Ok, here's what I need from you. Do this and I might find it in my heart to find you a nice prize. A shipment of new merchandise is being transferred from it's manufacturer to a transport. Should that merchandise not make it to dealers, I stand to make a lot of money on my own sales. Of course should I get some of that merchandise for myself...I stand to make a good deal more."

Resigning from this, dont have time. Sorry guys.
Sorry to hear it, thanks for the heads up, mate.

"Well done gentlemen. Excellent work."
Norman meets his team to debrief them, and listen to what they thought of the mission.

Once he's done that, he'll look to see about more contracts.

They thought it was a fairly routine mission. Although the ambush and presence of a mech revealed that information from Hub Security is not too secure. They both think the combination of weapons and mechs is a good one that can only be improved by another mech/pilot.

Where would you like to check for missions? If you go back to hub security, you have the same choices as Pyro, if you do not use any sort of contact.

"Hmm, This shipping convoy, how many vehicles and what sort of armour do they have? Are they carrying anything explosive in the shipment, and what sort of resistance are you expecting?"

"Should be 5-6 trucks, lightly armored versus mechs. Some of the shipments will be unarmed explosives. You must be careful of any fire hitting the trucks. The convoy will have private guards, shouldn't be anything too heavy. And they won't be able to get reinforcements if you move quickly. Anything else?"

Above all else, survive, that is all"

Valdia 4:
There is a concussive boom as the orbital landing ship enters the planet’s atmosphere. The retrorockets fire and cushion the craft. It settles down with the cracking of silicates turned to glass. The hatches release their hydraulic hatches and open. The Hammer and Patriot step forward and begin a slow sweep of the area for the best positions. Upon finding spots to secure views of the roadway, both mechs shut down their engines and radars. After a few minutes the first vehicle passes by Flint. Two small buggies are positioned ahead of the first truck. Both seem to have a few weapon mounts and a turret. A gunship with searchlight whirs overhead, seeking threats with its beam. It sweeps back around and moves off towards the back of the convoy. Two cargo trucks pass followed by a large armored vehicle with a cannon mounted on the roof. The next two trucks go past and another armored vehicle. The final trucks pass Flint’s position and are followed by another pair of buggies. Flint allows the second armored vehicle to pass and then opens up all weapons into its rear near the cannon mount, as the Hammer’s simultaneously come to life.

The bullets stitch across the vehicle before finding a few desirable penetration points. The MG kicks back and Flint is forced to throttle forward. The rifle shots have more luck and tear into the hull. But Flint is too close to the vehicle to get a desirable target.

Dennis tears into the buggies decimating one as he brings the patriot around to combat the second buggy. The buggy opens fire with its turret mounted rockets. The first misses but the next three slam into the Patriot. There is negligible damage from the first two impacts, but the final rocket slams into the right leg, blowing out a chunk of the knee joint. Dennis has brought the patriot forward enough that he is able to unleash everything into the buggy, which explodes under the withering fire.

Flint moves around the armored vehicle continuing to fire into it. The lumbering thing begins to smoke, and tongues of fire begin to flare from the bullet holes. Feeling satisfied that the vehicle will no longer fight back, Flint turns on the trucks. The transports are attempting to turn and flee, the buggies behind have pulled back to give the trucks room. Flint skirts the side and fires across the cabs. The first sweep of bullets rips open the first cab, and the truck stops moving. As he turns on the second truck a few bullets tear into the cargo half, but the damage seems insignificant. As the path of fire continues, the cab shreds under the aggression.

Dennis pushes in and fires into the forward trucks. Both vehicles are silenced within moments. But then the cannon of the second armored vehicle booms and the rocks behind Dennis explode. He uses the reload time to push through the two trucks while firing into the front of the armored vehicle. The Armored vehicle shoots into the patriot with a front mounted machine gun, doing minor damage. A moment later the vehicle explodes out in flame from the shielded driver position.

The remaining buggies open fire on Flint. One rocket crashes into the Hammer dealing some damage, but not to any system specifically. A rogue rockets does slam into the back of one of the cargo trucks, causing an eruption of the vehicle and everything inside. Flint fires through the wreckage. The attack destroys the buggy, but the machinegun spools out of ammo. Flint turns to the remaining buggy and fires the rifle system. The buggy is decimated almost immediately.

Suddenly a new blip appears on the Hammer’s sensors and three missiles streak out of the sky. The first missile slams into the ground in front of Flint but the next two tear through his mech. The first rips open the left leg and the second tears off the right arm.

Dennis picks up a visual on the returning gunship and turns his weapons onto it. He fires into its path, leading the craft for a moment before crippling its engines and rotors. The craft falters and then explodes. Dennis sweeps the area and determines that there are no longer threats. He turns the patriot towards the remaining trucks and moves slowly towards them. The first truck attempt to escape and a single shot stops its motion. The second guns its engine towards the Patriot, a last ditch effort to ram the mech. Dennis destroys the cab.

“Flint, you alright over there?”
“I think we’ll be fine. Ready to go?’
“Yeah, let’s hit it”
“Mission 47250, extraction requested. Five cargo trucks for transport.”

“Set up an ambush for the convoy and use any and all means necessary to eliminate enemy opposition. Only cripple the transport, it's worth more if we recover it. Also, bring the mech back with minimal damage and do a good enough job and I'll double your mission salary.”

Valdia 3:
The dropship streaks through the clear skies, perfectly lining up the desired route. The War Yak is released from the hold and descends perfectly to the ground. In the distance Jim can see the convoy running perpendicular to him and preparing to come his way along a cliff line. The pilot hums to himself as he prepares the mech’s systems and then finds a good vantage from which to assault the target. As the convoy approaches he takes stock of the vehicles in the convoy. There appear to be half a dozen battle drones and at least one mech skimming along with the four cargo trucks. Jim notes that the mech is a Templar. It appears to have guns for most of its weapon mounts, but he cannot discern what it may have as a chest weapon before it fires…unless he gives up his position with sensors.
When the convoy is only 100 meters away, the War Yak comes to life like a great beast rising from the snow. Jim depresses the trigger and sweeps his laser rifle across the convoy. He hits two of the drones as they scatter from the attack. Both are crippled by the firepower. The Templar flares its engines and pushes forward from behind the transports, which gun their engines and spread out. The War Yak surges into motion, pushing inside the ring of drones. The small guns do only negligible damage to the massive mech as it cuts them down one by one with shotgun and laser fire. The drones are decimated quickly, but then the Templar is upon the larger mech. Its machine gun arms and shoulders fire a devastating salvo across the large mech. The attack does massive damage across the War Yak. The mech’s systems signal a critical error in the rocket pod. Jim turns the mech to fully face the new adversary. He fires the engine and charges, as all remaining weapons fire. The lasers blazes energy into the Templar. Much of the damage is absorbed by the shielding, but the weapon deals damage across the mech and critically destroys its shoulder mounted machine gun. The shotgun blows chunks away from the Templar’s armor, but seems to leave its systems intact. The templar jets to the right and Jim turns with it. Both mechs fire into each other.
The Yak’s laser and shotgun decimate the lower half of the Templar, blowing away both its legs and causing it to careen to the ground in an earthshaking tumble. However, the Templar gets a lucky volley of shots that tear through the massive mech’s head, but not its cortex. Jim is wounded by shrapnel, the damage is fairly critical. He turns on the Templar and fires into it, making sure it will not get up. He then sets his sights on the fleeing trucks, and squeezes the trigger. The first truck explodes, but the second one is simply overturned by the attack. The third takes a massive hit and keeps going while the last one’s cab explodes, causing the cargo portion to skid across the ice. Jim manages to bring up the rifle one last time and fires into the fleeing truck, the thing explodes in the distance. Jim begins to slip into unconsciousness, but manages to hit his emergency beacon, and barely whisper,

“Mission…extraction to beacon, medical needed.”

Well, that went quite well.

Await for them to return, an congratulate Flint and Dennis on a good job, and ask about the damage to the mechs.

"You did a good job, I did not forsee the gunship, it probably would have been best to take that out first, however you both did good jobs."

Head out, to the second level, and search of for the shop I bought the mechs from previously.

"Vlad, good to see you once more" shake Vlad's hand "I need a small and quick mech for operations, any idea where I could find one?"

Hexor visits Jim in the medical center to see how he's doing. Hopefully Will and Kate will be there so he can talk to them all at once. "The missoion didn't seem to go too well, but the important thing is you're back alive. I'll see about picking up a support mech for future missions. I know this may not be the best time to discuss business, but I'mm a business man. I was thinking a Tempest for Will to drive with shoulder missiles and pretty much whatever Will wants on the arms and a grenade launcher for the other arm on the Yak. If this is acceptable to you all I'll get it all prepared. Kate, you'll most likely be in the Yak for the next mission, do you or Jim have any suggestions beyond the grenade launcher for it's loadout?"

I'll think all the stuff over for all of what you guys want during the day. And to be honest, man, the main prob with your mission was losing the rockets immediately...coupled with very good rolls by the templar. Kind of just an unlucky set :D

Valdia 4, Rock Moon:
The drop ship flies in low. It touches down for no more than a second as the hammer exits through the hatch. Ahead lies a large complex with radar dishes and fortified towers. Patricia does a systems check, and then pushes the mech forward, while sweeping for anything in the area. When she is about halfway to the facility her radar lights up with several contacts.

A half dozen drones pour from the rocky outcrops around her. She opens fire with her machinegun. She sprays controlled bursts into the enemies, destroying one almost instantly. She cripples another, but then they are within firing range. She pushes the throttle open and to her left. She avoids the bulk of the fire, but sustains a few hits. She returns the volley. She heavily damages another two, and destroys the crippled one and the nearest unharmed drone in a hail of bullets. She turns the craft to make another attack but the system jams.

Patricia fully opens the throttle, lifting the mech up and back. She aims for a small ridge while trying to work through the system error. Enemy fire streaks into the back of the Hammer. She maintains her flight long enough to drop onto the ridge and gain shelter. Some of the enemy fire has damaged her mech’s shielding, but everything seems to be holding. She does a quick systems check and determines that her guns are online again. She drops off the ridge and turns her sights on the two remaining drones. Both explode almost instantly as her precision bursts tear through their light armor.

Patricia collects herself and then presses on towards the facility. She sees the guard tower light up a moment before the ground to her side explodes. She turns up the speed and zigzags towards the facility. The Hammer’s shoulder mount opens and four warheads lock into firing position. She achieves and lock and fires the first missile. It streaks through the sky and slams into the tower, blowing it apart. By now the other towers have begun firing on her. The beams streak towards the mech. One is deflected by the mech’s shielding, but one hits with considerable force. The hammer’s shielding goes offline. Patricia jets into the air at an angle, dropping every time she believes the laser battery is firing. She locks on with another missile and fires it off. The missile seems to track off a bit, but still hits into the side of the tower, silencing its gun. Patricia’s dodging buys her precious time and distance, she prepares the third missile. She gets a perfect lock and the missile sails into the tower, tearing the gun apart in a large explosion. Having neutralized all immediate threats, she closes the rest of the distance quickly, while attempting to bring her shield back up. She hears the familiar hum of her defense relays powering up.

As she enters the facilities she takes note of three hangars (no doubt where the drills are kept). There seems to be several landing pads, but only one transport. She sweeps the area. Nothing appears.

“Mission 7652, Requesting Security team to position. Area in possession of Valdia Mining.”

“Roger that, ETA: 4 minutes.”

Patricia moves the hammer to put its back to a ridge, from which she can see most approaches and all three hangars. After a minute she gets a radar contact. The craft is moving from behind her and coming fast. She spins the hammer around and moves to the center of the facility. She sees a gunship moving in, and after a moment a second appears in its radar shadow. She opens the missile guidance and takes aim, but is unable to achieve a lock. She saves the missile, and prepares her guns while beginning to move in a sweeping arc. The gunships fire a salvo of small missiles the first set misses her, but the second set was leading her enough to catch the hammer fully. The four warheads explode on the mech. The first two do little overall damage. The next two tear a massive chunk out of the Hammer’s chest, dropping the mech’s shield and ripping the left leg from the craft. The Hammer spins down across the ground from the force of impact. Patricia fires the jets to get a firing solution as the gunships turn for another pass. She opens the guidance system again, aiming for the leading gunship. She hears the clean beep of a perfect lock and she releases the final warhead. It blazes through the sky straight through the centerline of the target, destroying it in a massive explosion of jet fuel. She turns as much as she can and opens fire with her machine gun. She fills the sky with a trail of bullets rather than her previous controlled bursts. The gunship manages to evade for a moment and even gets off a few shots of its own before being shredded. Patricia releases the trigger long after the gun has ceased firing. She uses the mech’s arms and jets to bring the chassis up under the ridge and waits. A few moments later she gets another blip on her radar. She is out of ammunition and unable to flee in the mech. Her hand drops to the eject handle, and she waits in silence.

“Mission 7652, we are on your beacon. Dropping security detail to take over.”

Patricia lets out a long sigh as drones jet to the ground and a large military transport passes over the facility. She looks around. One of the hangars appears to be a pile of rubble. Perhaps decimated by the salvo of missiles that she avoided.

“Mission 7652, requesting extraction for damaged mech.”

I want both of you to stick together and watch each others back, although there shouldn't be too much resistance. Watch your fire and try not to actually damage the facility. So Deacon, if you're gonna use your rockets you damned well better be sure they're gonna hit your target. If everything goes as planned (I get the bonus), you can have 60% of the credits we get from salvage. I wish you luck on the first job."

Valdia 3:
The air is clear and crisp as the drop ship sailed along the ice flows. A few miles from the facility the ship touches down and releases its cargo. Deacon and Phillipe power on their systems and move towards the target. After only a minute the team encounters its first resistance. Clearly the drop ship was detected or expected. The tell-tale silhouette of a pair of mechs appears on the horizon. Phillipe stops and stays wide, waiting for a shot. Deacon moves slow, keeping Phillipe in assistance range. The enemies are close enough for identification--Patriot and an Aviator.

The Aviator jets into the air and moves left, as the Patriot lines up to engage Deacon. Phillipe opens fire on the Aviator catching it with a few shots, but doing only minimum damage. The Aviator corrects course to engage the Drake.

The Patriot is armed with missiles and gains a bead on the Zealot, as Deacon accelerates into combat. The Zealot’s systems give warning of a missile lock and then the warhead slams into the mech’s left leg, removing a good chunk of metal and mechanisms. Deacon compensates with jets and then opens fire with machineguns and rockets. The bullets stitch across the Patriot’s left arm and torso. Only one of the initial rockets hits the Patriot solidly. The explosive tears through the large mech’s leg. The Patriot returns fire with a pair of rifles. The precision shots of the rifle blow through the Zealot’s knees on the previously undamaged leg. The mech’s enhanced reflexes allow it to stay up and continue engaging the Patriot. Deacon opens all weapons systems and peppers the target with shotgun and machinegun fire. The attack decimates the Patriot’s right leg and torso. The rocket salvo does considerably more. The Patriot’s left leg is blown off at the hip and the undamaged arm is ripped away. The fourth rocket of the salvo jams in the tube. It explode s and rips open the shoulder weapon.Deacon pushes the throttle open to full to get the Zealot away as the Patriot is rocked to the ground. As the mech falls there is a plume of flame and smoke as an ejection capsule rockets into the sky.

Phillipe tracks the Aviator through its evasive maneuvers, clearly outranging it. He squeezes the trigger for precision shots, leading the flying mech. The volleys do significant damage to the Aviator’s arms and torso. It wheels off to the side and then opens fire with machine guns. The bullets rake through the Drake’s legs, doing mild damage. With the Aviator so close after its attack, Phillipe forgets precision aiming and unloads into the mech. The attack decimates the Aviator’s torso and flames lick out form the damaged craft. There is a plume of smoke as the pilot ejects. The aviator plows to the ground and explodes on impact.

The two pilots converse briefly, taking stock of their position and condition. The Zealot is no longer at full combat capacity, but still has plenty of stopping power and a little under half its ammo store. The Drake is much better off. They decide to continue from the far right of the facility.

Upon reaching the target they encounter some mounted defenses, which Phillipe takes out from a distance. Upon the destruction of the mounted defenses, small battle craft pour out of the facility. Five spider-like vehicles move towards the two mechs. They open with rocket fire. One hits the Zealot square in the face, ripping open the protective hull and exposing sensor equipment and computing processors. Two rockets hit the Drake tearing into the right side arms and legs. The Drake recoils, but is still capable. The enemy craft dodge Phillipes counter-fire, getting one of them caught in front of a second rocket volley that tears it apart. Phillipe’s weapon tears through two of the other craft, ripping through their cortexes and dropping them to the ground. Deacon sweeps up the final two in a hail of gunfire.

The mechs collect themselves and move into the facility, sweeping for targets. Finding none, they set up a defensive position.

-Randy Stevens: Skill 4, Leadership 4, High Aspirations: Randy has intent to rise above his status, 180 salary
-Lopez: Skill 3-6, Leadership 3-6, Possibly Crazy: Lopez might be insane, salary 180
-Dolph Gunger: Skill 4, Leadership 4, Henchman: Dolph is excellent at following orders, salary 180

Orders
Easy work mate, destroy the gun battery and all who try to stop you. Pick them off with your rifle and rockets only when you're sure you can hit them with it. Lopez take point while Randy and Dolph covers him. I know its only optional to destroy the air defence grid, but I want that down too. Do this well gentlemen, and that 10k is yours. Go for the S rank boys.

Valdia 5, Rock Moon:
The drop ship is unable to get in too close because of the nature of the target. Several miles away the ship touches down and drops off the team. The three weavers sync up and throttle forward towards the target. Randy spots the target over the next ridge, but then they encounter radar contacts. Several small drones fly towards the team. The three mechs open fire with their rifles.

Randy’s fire tears through two of the drones, but then the rifle jams and goes offline. Lopez has the exact same luck. He drops several drones but then his rifle jams and explodes from ammunition flaw. Dolph finishes off the rest of the drones before his weapons kicks back and stutters offline. A moment later the weapon responds. Randy attempts to bring his rifle back online while the other two mechs defend the position and sweep for new targets. There is no response from the weapon systems.

“Let’s remember this when we get back…I’m clubbing the guy that sold these rifles…”

The team moves towards the weapon array. The facility is well defended by small craft. The three mechs throttle in, and release rockets immediately. Seven of the vehicles explode immediately as the explosives catch them defenseless from the blitz. Dolph’s aim also brings down two of the four contract targets. He then opens fire with his rifle and remaining rockets at the remaining drone which is decimated under the attack. The team turn their weapons onto the remaining components of the defense grid. The gun battery is brought down quickly with only five rockets, some of which also take out precious radar equipment. Randy fires his remaining missiles destroying much of the array, but one of the rockets jams and explodes inside the weapon ripping it apart. Lopez moves forward and unleashes a spread of his remaining rockets. The massive radar collapses in a twisting heap of metal and explosions as the array erupts in fire.

-Dennis Weathers: Skill 6, Leadership 4, Hot Head: Dennis take grudges on the battlefield...this can have positive and negative effects, 200 salary
(Aviator: Infinia Ind. Enhanced Combat Rifle)

Orders
"You will drop a few Kilometres away from the downed dropship via Air Drop, and head towards the downed dropship with speed, try and stick together, Dennis you are to keep an eye on the sky from the Aviator, While Flint and Mark keep an eye on the ground forces, Flint, you have better sensors aboard the hammer, so keep an eye out for foes.

Once you reach the site of the downed dropship, Flint is to take a defensive position on any high ground he can find, while Mark will hunt and destroy any enemies within a half mile radius of the dropship, Dennis in the aviator is to make quick reconnaissance flyby's of the area, if an opportunity presents itself take out any foes, if attaked the three of you focus on defending the dropship and eachother."

Valdia 2, Water Moon:
A sudden storm has pushed the dropship well off course. The blinding rain falls in sheets, as the jets stutter through high winds. The pilots signal the need for the drop, and Dennis flips his switches. He falls away from the craft before firing his engines to land safely on the rock island below. Mark jumps next, his patriot sailing smoothly to the ground below within sight of Dennis. Flint is a second behind and lands close to Mark.

Flint diverts power to his sensors and scans the surroundings. He gets a very clear read of routing and a ping on the transport’s emergency beacon, no other contacts appear. The team must engage in a series of island hops across the coast of the moon’s only landmass. They begin the arduous trek. Soon they can barely make out the outline of the transport, as the sea crashes against its hull. The team reaches the transport without event and begins to scan the hold for the target items.

A series of explosions rocks the island and Flint’s Hammer takes a massive hit to his right arm and head. The Hammer’s head is sheared away and its computer systems shut down. The storm lets up slightly and the team sees a ship off the coast; its massive artillery guns trained on the island. The transport creaks and groans against the movements of water and explosion.

Dennis lifts off immediately and sets out toward the ship. Mark jets forward and looks for a way to get closer to the ship. He notes a small grouping of rocks that could be used for a single, mech and he takes off. The aviator opens fire aiming for radar equipment and the bridge of the ship. Dennis does mild damage across the ship before peeling away to avoid punishing AA fire. Some of the flak tears through the mech’s left arm ripping away ammunition feeds.

Flint tries desperately to get the engine to turn over or any system to come back up. He gets the jets to fire enough to move away from the transport before setting down again. The guns fire again, this time only half trained at him. The explosions rock the small island and the transport slips from its hold on the rocks, submerging several more feet.

The other shots are directed at Mark. The shots land short of the moving Patriot and mark launches up firing his jets on full. As soon as he is within range he opens all guns at the bridge and relay structures. Glass shatters, cables snap and equipments collapses under the onslaught. Dennis spins his mech and goes for another sweep. He does similar damage and the ship’s decks erupt in flame. The Aviator takes significant damage from the AA fire on this pass, and Dennis is forced to head back to Flint. Mark lands on the deck of the ship, crushing steel plating. He opens fire across the deck and ammunition stores begin to rupture and explode. He turns the mech back towards his island path and pushes the throttle open. The Patriot makes the jump just as the ship fires one last time before exploding and being knocked beneath the waves. The shells land near the transport shaking it farther into the sea. Water begins to pour into the hull. Mark and Dennis return to Flint and use their own mechs to keep the transport above water.

Valdia 4:
The winds of the planet are low as the dropship enters orbit. Reports of patrols in the area have forced the drop zone far to the planetary east. The ship touches down and the team steps out. The two mechs split and head towards the target. Upon getting close, Kate stops as Will goes farther to the north. The team picks up readings of inbound enemy craft on the perimeter of the checkpoint. Defense forces are mounted in assorted buggies and armored trucks. Kate sees no point in staying silent and pulls her trigger as soon as she has range for her rifle.

Two of the eight buggies suffer explosive hits as her laser cuts through the night. Will’s rifle fires across the other buggies, but he does little damage before his rifle kicks back and he begins to circle wider. The buggies fire off their missiles. The weapons streak towards the team, lighting up the ground around them. The War Yak takes direct hits from half the missiles; the Tempest suffers only three hits. The War Yak takes heavy damage to its head, but the shields and hull hold. The Yak’s extremities are heavier hit. The Yak’s left leg is mangled by a missile as another plows into the mech’s cannon.

Kate decides to test the new cannon to make sure its still functional. The mech’s computer tracks the shot and she pulls the trigger. A series of large canisters sail towards the incoming buggies. Two buggies are hit directly by the barrage and another two are caught in the blasts. Two of the craft are cut apart by shrapnel. One of the canisters bounces off a buggy and explodes behind it. Another manages to swerve from most of the blast. The armored vehicles join the battle with a chorus of heavy cannon fire. Kate throttles to the left, dodging most of the large blasts, but one catches the mech square in the chest. The War Yak topples sideways under the force. Kate pushes the throttle open to compensate, and manages to keep the massive mech from crashing to the ground. The buggies swarm around the large mech unleashing their machineguns. The buggies do mild damage across the mech, but a significant chunk of the rifle arm is broken away.

Will is having more luck, having only taken minor damage to the left leg of his Tempest. Deciding that the defense forces are priority for heavy weapons, he flips down the Tempest’s specialty interface. Each enemy craft lights up and the Tempest computer squares off each target, clarifying a lock. Will selects the two armored vehicles and squeezes the trigger halfway. Everything else on the HUD fades and the targeting chimes. He fully depresses the trigger and two warheads sail out. The targets explode as soon as the missiles pierce the hulls.

Kate opens fire with all of her weapons to simply decimate the buggies as she adjusts the mech. The remaining buggies are shredded under the onslaught. More radar contacts appear ahead. The team regroups and throttles toward the security checkpoint. Will reopens his systems and fires both missiles to the left and right of center in the checkpoint. The facility erupts in flames. Kate begins firing her laser through the buildings, keeping the defense forces at bay. When she gets in range she slowly sweeps the fragmentation cannon and rockets across the facility in opposite directions meeting in the middle before crossing over. The rockets streak through the building. Most do minor damage, but two ignite fuel stores. The explosion flares above even the massive mech. The fragmentation cannon has also done significant damage. The canisters tear down massive sections of the building, as they crash into the tight edifices. As the radar and main control tower crumble the team turns and begins to put distance between them and the target.

A single large gunship emerges from the facility and jets through the flames. Both mechs are given a weapons lock warning and they open their throttles fully to opposite sides. Missiles burst from both wings of the ship. Three slam into each of the mechs. The War Yak’s damaged leg is torn away and the other leg is mangled at the knee joint, making running impossible. The Tempest loses the lower half of its left leg as it jets away. Being out of missiles, Will turns and unloads with his guns as the ship attempts to turn quickly with the large mech. Will cannot keep up with the air ship and does very minor damage to it, as his rifle runs dry.

“Can’t stay with you, Kate. Pulling back.”
“Get out, and watch for recovery, I can’t take another hit like that.”

Kate Turns back and opens her shotguns and rifle. Between the shotguns and flak from early burst canisters, she gets the gunship to turn away. As it jets towards the facility, she fires her rifle as fast as it will recharge. The beams tear through the rotary engines and the craft plummets forward, exploding across the ground.

With that Hexor turns and heads down to have a chat with Gaelen. "I'm going to need a new missile launcher for the Tempest, most powerful and most missiles in a single rack you can aquire for me. Also, I'm thinking if I replace the Tempests missile system, I'll put the old one on the Yak and get another like it to replace the rocket pods. That'd give me two missile systems, plenty of ammo for them, and possiblly a pair of chest mounted machine guns, you know, replace that shotgun. If you can come up with some prices for those items, I'll see what I can get for now and what you should put on standby for me."

OOC: Easy list: more powerful, higher ammo missile system for Tempest. A matching missile system like the Tempest so the Yak has two, and two high caliber machine guns.

Santa Claus is coming to town.. Lopez goes off to arrange a pick up (500 credits when they deliver to your garage). You begin rooting through the office, finding 1000 credits. After about an hour lopez returns and tells you that the ship is at the airlock. Entering the garage you meet the crew of the ship and they ask what is to be transported.

(Just out of curiosity, why would I be paying for a drop if I have to meet the truck, wouldn't it be waiting at a secure building? So my my pilots would just go to the planet on a normal transport shuttle or something?) It's often a time issue, in this case you'd be meeting the truck outside of a secure area. As in you are not necessarily with the vehicle from beginning to end. Also...a normal shuttle for your mechs would cost the same amount unless you jumped out of it...which is only 200 credits. It's a matter of simply paying for the transport (also something I use to determine how missions begin.)

"Everything. Wipe this place clean of anything that isn't nailed down. And if you can prise it off, it ain't nailed down. Priority will be things of high monetary value. After the looting Drakon will endeavour to set the workshop on fire. The crew looks around and shrugs. Three hours later everything has been loaded and the transport takes the loot to your garage. You have discovered some fuel....You and Lopez are now alone in the mostly empty room with the unconscious mechanic. You splash around the fuel and then drop a match…not really planning the following moments. The room bursts into flames as you scramble to get out with your pilot. You stand outside watching it burn for a minute.

“That got out of hand quickly”

You nod and then run away as people gather.

The bartender tells you that the merchant has not been seen in a while, he hands you a drink on the house. You drink it and notice something odd at the bottom of the glass. It is a small plastic card stuck to the glass. The black card has a single orange symbol of a claw wrapped around Valdia. You take the card and place it in your palm upside down. As you get up, you glance down and see a few words.

- Patricia Fine: Skill 7, Leadership 5, Harbinger: Patricia is a fierce opponent with much pride, 200 salary
(Hammer: Dynatix Assault MG Arms, SYStern Missile Package Shoulders)

Orders
"Stick close to the security forces already there and cover them. You don't need to outdo yourself, just let them do most of the work."

The lander slams into the ground, and the door flies open with a hiss. The Hammer emerges into a small ring of metal workings and sensor arrays. There is a massive radar dish at the center of the ring and five gargantuan gun batteries on perimeter. Each is pointed up and out, defending Valdia’s desert factories from attack.

Within minutes of landing Patricia notes the alarms of facility as contacts appear beyond the defensive ring. Security personnel in buggies and small crab-like craft move towards the radar signature. Three signals appear on the Hammer’s radar. Patricia skims to the perimeter behind the security force. She sees three jet trails moving towards her.

The three mechs are moving quite fast in a three pronged formation. All three have the silhouettes of Patriots. Patricia sits and waits, sighting her missile system on the center mech. She fires as soon as she has a lock, but the lock is not full and the missile stutters in air. It manages to clip the Patriot and cause damage to its right arm. She moves and lines up another shot. This time she cannot get a lock and she moves to engage.

The security forces have split to engage each target equally. The small crab-like craft sport a single laser rifle and two rockets. The buggies have a small missile package and machineguns. The buggies unleash there full missiles at the mechs. The left most mech loses its right arm before it returns fire with its rifle and rockets. The two buggies on thje left explode. The center Patriot takes significant damage to its chest and left leg. Its counter attack destroys another two buggies. The final two buggies fire their missiles at the third Patriot. It takes significant damage to its left leg and destroys one of the buggies in turn.

The small laser drones sight up and fire as Patricia moves to the right of the center Patriot. The laser drones do little damage to the left and center mechs, but one barrage on the right catches the Patriot in the face. The mech’s shield flickers and Patricia sees it. She throttles open at the mech and waits for a lock. As soon as she hears the chime, she unleashes every weapon on the target. The missile rips into the side of the mech’s chest. Exploding off its arm and opening a large hole. Her machinegun fire does significant damage across the craft. The Patriot turns to engages, but Patricia is still bearing down on it. The mech takes hits to its side and head. The second arm is blown apart and the mech’s head rips open. The Patriot jerks and then shuts down. Patricia turns and jets off before the pilot has even ejected.

As the Hammer approaches the other mechs, she notes that the battle has continued. The laser drones have done significant damage to the head and torso of the center Patriot. The Patriot sweeps its rifles and rockets across the drones destroying three of the six. The left most Patriot finishes off the drones, but takes heavy damage to its leg and arm.

Patricia uses the distance to lock the two remaining missiles on the center Patriot. She can only get a single lock, an unknown stroke of luck to her. The missile that does fire streaks along a straight line and rips off the Patriots head as it explodes in a shower of mechanical sparks. The Patriot collapses mid stride as its systems die from the attack. The pilot’s escape capsule fires off as the mech falls. It jets towards the compound, presumably to be picked up by security forces for arrest or interrogation.

Patricia smiles and closes in on the final Patriot which has just jetted into range of the final defense guns. The mech fires all of its rockets into the facility. The explosives rock the closest gun emplacement and destroy several mounts of the auto defenses which open fire in response. The auto-cannon destroys the mech’s damaged arm and doing damage across its torso. The mission success seeming secure, Patricia moves left towards the base and settles to slower speed to establish a lock on the now evasive mech. The missile destroys the Patriot’s leg. The auto-cannons correct their tracking and being firing again. The pilot seems to panic and the ejection capsule fires up into the atmosphere.

The Patriot crashes to the ground and the defense guns stop firing.

The first place I come across. Just walk around until I find a gang of pilots.
You see a group of men playing cards. Others are having smaller conversations at the actual bar.

Nod at the barman, and thank him for the drink, before heading down to Hanger 6, Level 2, bulkhead 3.
You find a small garage occupied only by a stool. On the sides are the normal tool wracks of a mechanic garage, and the far wall is the common airlock.

"Very nice. I look forward to checking out the new equipment. I was very impressed with how well my Zealot did in the last mission. A true testament to engineering."
"Oh yes, that was a major advancement for Nexus. We believe this new line of production will change the face of private military groups. Of course Dynatix and SYStern will be forced to move their own productions forward. You'll of course understand that I cannot speak about the products specifically."

OOC: Nice mission there.

Hexor orders a drink from the barkeep and quietly asks if he knows if any of his customers have work for a mercenary group.
*Was a damn nice mission (Would have been more difficult had the other player actually taken the attack contract and made this PVP...Turns out the merc group that took the contract was not as good...)

The barman points to a man and tells you that he is an arms dealer, and that he might have work.

Drakon returns to his garage to check his loot and see what Randy has come up by way of missions. He also divides the looted 1000 credits between himself and his pilots.

*(you can't divide the money as you need to pay the shipping crew 500)...you can give them each 150...so I did that.*

The Missiles are a step up from the rockets, and thus can replace them on the two weavers...however keep in mind...Dolph has the better targeting if you agree to the above...so you might want missiles for him. I must say that we tend to only hire those companies with a good reputations. It's not a matter of personal opinion its a matter of trust of quality. "All right, I got another job for you two. You'll be escorting a truck. Deacon, I want you to make sure the driver knows what to do if things go bad. A few mechs are expected to try to take down the truck. If anything threatening appears, blast the hell out of them. Keep your eyes on peeled and good luck."

Moon of Eden:
The dropship hovers over the truck briefly as it passes through the final safe zone. Then it jets ahead to touch down with the mechs in it’s cargo bays. The Zealot and Drake move toward the truck, tacking flanking positions. A shuttle flies over head. Previously it had been part of the convoy, now it flies west with its own escort of mechs. The Highway is a long path of mostly open ground enroute to a launch facility where off-world shuttles are stored.

With the launch facility on the horizon the team takes a wider perimeter around the craft. Nothing alerts the team to the ambush until it is too late. A series of missiles launch at the group. Two sail towards the truck, but a calculation crashes them together before impact. The driver swerves and accelerates. Two more missiles slam into the Zealot blasting through the core and head. The Zealot shuts down. The Drake manages to evade all but one missile and that does minor damage to its leg.

Deacon attempts to bring his craft back online. He manages to get the engine and jets to fire up. He begins pursuit of the transport. Phillipe scans the sky for the attackers and finds a pair of cloaked gunships bearing down on them. He opens fire causing one of the craft to break away and circle back. The second fires its machinegun as it soars past the Drake. The attack shatters many of the components of the Drake’s legs, but the small craft is kept moving by its jets.

Deacon has managed to bring his arm systems online and begins firing sporadically as a distraction. He is not able to hit either craft. Phillipe lines up a second volley as the gunship moves towards the fleeing transport. His shots cut through the gunship’s engines and it spins to the ground. He opens the throttle fully to catch up to the transport. The second gunship has now turned back and is once more in pursuit.

Deacon slams his fist down on the console, and systems flare back to life. He turns the craft and fires all weapons into the pursuing gunship Rockets and machine gun fire explode across the craft, sending it crashing down. The machine gun whirs and then goes back offline, power seems to have failed to it. The two mechs catch up to the transport and follow it, visually sweeping all edges of the periphery. Ahead of the transport sand next the road explode up and several small drones appear. Their lasers fire at the group of vehicles. Glass shatters on the transport, and a door is blown away, but little other damage is apparent. The two mechs react quickly. The drones are destroyed in moments.

The transport careens through the security shields of the shuttle launch station.

The operative looks up at the airlock, and takes a deep breath, grabbing hold of something solid, so that he won't be sucked out instantly if he is wrong, he prepare to meet whoever is on the other side... or his doom. There is a rush of air as the locks open and the interstitial space pressurizes. The doors open and a small group of men are standing where there should be open space.

"Sit down if you wish," The man gestures towards the stool, "You have done well enough for yourself. But you haven't proven what you're made of. We'll be testing you to see if you are of any interest, or simply fodder. Your candidacy is number 5372."

The airlock lights up again and begins to close.

Valdia 2, Rock Moon
Trent lands in the center of the complex. He is met with a small group of security forces including buggies and heavier battle tanks. Two large gunships are firing up their engines. Trent cracks his neck and moves towards the open side of the warehouses.

Jim and Will are moving in from their own drop zone. They are nearing engagement range when they are picked up on radar. The security forces move to engage using their higher numbers to flank the two mechs. Trent heads down the middle.

Will attempts t lock on the large mech and fires his first two missiles. Jim fires two as well. The missiles sail towards the defending mech. Trent engages the Yak’s defenses and a grouping of red hot flares shoot from the hull of the craft. One of each pair of missiles explode in the sky. The incendiary missile crashes into the War Yak’s left leg spilling napalm and fire across it and the ground. The other missile explodes between the shoulder and the head. The advantage of range is lost as the gunships join the battle.

One gunship attacks each of the two mechs. The War Yak easily repels the salvo. But the Tempest takes two hits. One missile slams into the right leg and head respectively. The Tempest’s head is torn open by the warhead. The mech’s systems flicker, but stay operational.

Trent throttles forward on a fiery path of napalm. As soon as he has range he opens fire with his cannons. The attack does little to the opposing War Yak, which returns fire with its own cannon and remaining missiles. Trent’s own machine gun destroys the missiles as they near, but the cannon fire explodes on his upper torso. Jim uses the opportunity to dodge and re-engage from the side. Being so close he simply opens fire with every available weapon. A rocket tears into the Yak’s torso ripping open a space weakened by previous cannon blast. The proximity of the two massive mechs makes the fragmentation cannons more useless. Trent’s Yak has the upper advantage at this range and pushes out and to the side while firing its own arsenal. The attack damages the craft across most of its systems.

Will has been forced to engage the security forces and one of the gunships. The buggies have scored a number of missile hits. And the gunships strafing gunfire have added to the damage. Will manages to bring down four of the attacking craft before a missile salvo from the gunship decimates the mech’s cortex. Will is plummeted into darkness as the security forces move to engage the other Mech.

Seeing his ally shutdown, Jim releases the rest of his rockets into the attacking mech. Trent jets to the side, avoiding most damage from the attack. The defender’s attack rips apart the enemy yak and does considerable damage to its cortex.

Jim tells Will to eject, while he himself attempts to divert power and keep his mech moving. He manages to redirect the engines to allow the mech to flee. The security forces attack the fleeing craft. They cease the pursuit when it is determined that the War Yak is no longer in the fight.

Name: Markus Korr
Company Name: Wings of Mercury
Bio: An aerial pilot by trade, Markus Korr (Typically Korr) knows from both sides of the spectrum just how dangerous small craft can be. His numerous scars, including a rather large one crawling back from his right eye through his jet-black hair and terminating just behind his ear, show that this information has not come cheaply. Born somewhere outside of the Valdia system - He won't say where - Korr has a distinctive look that stems from more than just his scars and muscles. A very well-built man, he carries a large knife - Obviously not designed for combat but a knife regardless - and it is fairly obvious to outsiders that physical combat with him would likely be unwise.

***

Korr steps into the Hub, a fresh start in a fresh system... hopefully. He makes his way to a bar that doesn't look too shabby, but doesn't look too high-class, either. After ordering a drink and pondering to himself some, he begins to speak.

"Let me ask you something. How many Mech pilots have you seen in here? A lot, right?" He pauses, looking around, and then laughs, his gaze returning to the bartender. "Half of them don't even deserve to be called pilots. You want a pilot... Choppers. Jets. Those need pilots. Mech drivers don't have to worry about things like gravity or turbulence... They've got feet. And what worry is another Mech when you've got fifty tons of metal between you and the outside world? A jet... You've got twenty, thirty tons in your whole plane. And if you're in a chopper... Well, you're lucky to get ten. Let me tell you... Staring down the barrel of a Mech's cannon with the only thing between you and it being a pane of glass is damned intimidating."

He stops, shakes his head, and takes a drink.

"I apologize. I've been ranting. Say, can you give me any info as to where I can find some aircraft? Jets, preferrably, although choppers or gunships will do. And if none of those are available, well... Guess I'll have to do what everyone else is doing and get some Mechs"

OOC: What I intend (If Arch lets me) is to be an aerial support group. One of YOU lot would hire ME to deal with air threats or light ground threats. Taking on Mechs would NOT be my priority, although it would certainly be possible, especially in support of mechs.
