Im a new nid player, but been in 40k since second edition. So my feedback is purely based on reading the codex a bunch and what other, more experienced Nids players have said.
Carnifex - lots of points into a model that wont see close combat if the enemy doesnt want to. It would be useful to hold objectives, as itll force enemies to get close and fight him.. but would still be a more effective model if you dropped the claws and put a gun on em. that way, hes still doing something in the 3 or 4 turns that hes Not in combat.
Zoanthrope warp blast.. expensive points for something thatll be used once or twice at most in the game effectively. (pass psychic check , AND hit on a 4+ = less than 3 successful shots per game, under the assumption of being in range first turn) Give it psychic scream, itll be more useful for when your gaunts start hitting CC.
Implant attack on the tyrant is kinda useless, id drop that.
Warriors: good builds. maybe a bit heavy on the biomorphs. 2nd squad requires armament for the third model though.
Hormagaunts - Give them init5. they have a low tuffness and a weak save. if they can strike first, 90% of the time, youll see their effectiveness skyrocket. just wittle down the killzone so theres few return attacks.
1 ravener wont do much, might want to take him out and put the 40pts into more genestealers or gaunts

CC fex? No. Nonononono just NO. Unless the fex is Old One-Eye, who has special rules making him more effective, don't do this to yourself.

I'll respond with each unit:
Carnifex - Either this guy sucks up the entire enemy's line of fire, or he makes it into combat, at least in the few games I've played. He also dishes out some mean damage. Though I know my army lacks real firepower, so my next fex is gonna be a nice big guns.
Zoanthrope - He can choose between non-psychic test blast and more concentrated shot which needs psychic test, but Ld 10 and he hasn't failed it yet. His BS does suck, true, and I've only got a few shots off, but its' guns that I need. I might put Catalyst (if he can have it?) or Psychic Scream on him.
Tyrant - implant attack was fairly cheap, and if I'm up against a 5 wound model or something like that, I might be thankful for that.
Warriors - I beefed these guys up on purpose. BTW the top row is biomorphs for each model. So each model has 2x scything talons. Shredder's
Hormagaunts - in the game I played with them today, I thought about hyping them up with WS & I if I needed to squeeze some extra points in. But I'm sticking with the swarm fluff.
Ravener - I like this guy :) He scares people and looks cool. Plus, I don't have any models!
I've got 16 gaunts and 8 hormagaunts to build, plus another zoanthrope being shipped. I'm gonna make the gaunts with fleshborers. I think that should flesh me out to 1700 pts, since thats what everyone at GW wants to play with (they're doing Paint of Die w/ 1700 pts).
Thanks for the input!
