i have 2 options, either IG or SM. i'll post 2 lists, tell me which u think I should go with, i can move around some stuff, but for IG i'm currently limited in what I have, and proxying is not allowed. i'll be playing against 3-4 SM (one BT), 2 orks, 1 nid, 1 chaos, other 2 players are unknown.

Well, how many Grenadiers are there in each squad?

Also, why use Grenadiers anyway? Go with a full Platoon of Guard, same points as all your Grenadiers, and you get 55 guys plus heavy weapons plus special weapons.

Well, your points are off, then. I don't have my codex handy, but I can tell you with absolute certainty that 10 stormies do not cost the same as 10 stormies and 2 plasma guns, nor do flamers cost more than plasma guns. Redo your points. Get yourself a better handle on how much things cost, and resubmit your list.

Also, is that 20 Guardsmen in addition to the ones you've listed in your command squad and heavy weapons crews, or 20 including them?

my bad, there isn't supposed 2 be plasma's in that squad, fixed now. 20 in addition to the command squad and heavy weapon ones.

If that's the case, drop one Heavy Weapons support squad, add a 2-squad platoon of Guards with an Autocannon in each squad and in the HQ unit. Makes your army harder to kill over the course of the game and makes those autocannon last much longer.

Oh! Also, drop the lascannon on the Russ in favour of another heavy bolter. Can't ever have too many heavy bolters with Guard. Heavy 3 mitigates their BS3

The SM list is flawed - Terminators and a dreadnought are too points-heavy in a small force. In my opinion, it would be easily slaughtered. Here's what I would do:

- give your commander terminator armor, storm bolter/power weapon - 120 easy points for the chapter master
- drop the Grey Knights and take a 4-man standard termie squad with 2 assault cannons
- use the remaining 50-odd points, combine with dropping the dreadnought, and get a third infiltrating tactical squad, and give them all meltaguns

If you're set on using the Grey Knights, at least drop the dreadnought - in such a small battle, it would too easily be isolated and would not stand up, especially as you have it equipped. Get meltaguns for your tac squads and beef them to 10 strong and maybe add another Grey Knight. Good luck.
