I really liked the first. it had a solid plot line, good action sections, and fecking armored cars with guns that race!

Yeah theres spoilers but you really shouldnt watch this anyway.

I was excited when i heard there was going to be a sequel, a prequel to the first really. but it was a direct to dvd.

But its death race it has to be at least a fraction as good as the original right?

Well to start of there only using two original characters from the first. asian dude with mediocre performance. and lists the nerdy guy who apparently has done something bad to be in prison.

for ian mcshane is played by that guy from machete

hennesy isnt in the film but is done by a stupid hoe

and the love interest and navigator/tits is portrayed as a stupid bitch who cant act and has stupid expressions on her face when shit happens.

thats really it.

the movie is obbssessed with nudity, slow motion, and unneccesary explosions (car flips over, Car splodes :/)

story is dumb and inconsistant, starting with get away car douchebag carl luke who "accidentally" shoots a cop and tries to escape gets caught and goes to prison, which is an island/prison/ manufacturing plant (now they hardly even use any of the original sets from the first and most of the pieces just look low budget) and the prison has a tv show where convicted felons murder each other for sport and broadcast it on tv (because apparently there are no more standards for tv in 2012) and the bitch who runs the show wants douchbag carl to fight but doesnt want to and eventually he ends up fighting for some bullshit reason :/

so after a while (and over halfway through the movie) apparently the tv show sucks so spontaneously the bitch comes up with Death RACE! and in what seemed like 10 minutes both the track and all the cars were Built! and all of a sudden everyone has to quickly grab a car. {now here is where i thought the movie would be good with high octane racing action that made the first one so awesome But i was wrong!) the action is so Bad and inconsistent it made me cry. for example mustang being shot by other care (now the camera angles and transitions are soooo bad makes me nauseous) one short nausueous clip the mustang has a ton of fake bullet holes, next scene it has little and it just so Bleh!

I can go on and on about how god awful this movie is, but please If you see this movie in a discount bin. please put it at the bottom of the pile so noone will see this horrible terrible shit >_<

Why do you think it was direct-to-DVD? :P

I haven't seen this, because I expected everything you described. The Jason Statham Death Race was fantastic fun, but there's a fine line between ridiculous fun and just plain ridiculous.

I still plan to get it, partially because of the cast (Sean Bean, Danny Trejo, Ving Rhames), and partially because well, to be honest, I think your exagerating. I think you were expecting something different, so what you got was dissapointing and your letting that ruin the rest of the movie. I have a feeling that, if someone watches it without expectations, it wont be nearly as bad.

(Sean Bean, Danny Trejo, Ving Rhames)

To be fair, those three guys, although awesome, don't exactly have the greatest track record :P

Oh no doubt, but my point stands. Besides, this wont be the first crappy direct-to-DVD movie I've bought, and it wont be the last. With the righ mindset, any movie can be fun.

That's why you watch the DUNE movie, it's so sad that it's funny... Also REALLY funny if you've read the book first.

Hey now, the Dune movie isn't half bad. Or at least, one of them isn't. There's like a hundred versions. Different from the book certainly, but good enough in it's own right.

I'm talking about the one with the flying fat man...

Been ages since I watched the one I have, with William Hurt. Don't remember if that's that one.

Nope, not the same one, I'm talking about the 1984 version. Nonstop laughter all the way through.

Didn't think so. I have a very vague memory of a floating fat man spitting on someone, but thats all.
