Qyro looks back. "I am not my predecessors, and I do not agree with this fight. Compromise, or I leave."

Head east towards the river if the warden isn't willing to reach some sort of compromise.

The day will come when you understand. I hope it does not bring regret. Fair well, dragonling

You come upon the river, swelled now from the spring thaw.

"This is stupid... I want to go into town!" Drakon the rebellious whined.

...Then he starts to dig for disgusting worms with Calvin under the tree, besides - what could go wrong?

Soon you hear voices, someone is approaching through the woods. You do not recognize the voices

OOC: Indeed.

Sanctus goes to find the big man for his morning exercises, he planned to do a sneak attack on him from a nearby rooftop, hoping to pin the man and slobber all over him.

You sneak along the stones of the wall, poking over it now and then to get bearings. Soon you come to the training yard. The man is kneeling on a mat, meditating while others practice. You slither onto a parapet and shake your haunches as you prepare to leap. You push out spreading your full length as you soar out towards the man. A moment before you would hit, your furl out your wings to slow. The man rolls away and suddenly the mat is atop your head as you bewildered, crash into the ground

Grim'karl decides all is well in town, and decides to head east, to see if theres anything interesting thataway

To the east eventually you find a massive lake where many rivers seem to converge, and many islands occupy the waters

Not one to give up and let down his friends and just about all he has for a family, Stoneclaw continues fighting the orc scourge, focusing on some of the larger ones so his little friends can work on ones closer to their own size. if he can find the orc chieftan he'll pounce on him and try to bite his head off, even if it won't fit in his mouth!

You get bashed a bit, by the orcs around you. You also take a large gash to your wing. You look around as you get a bit free, and spot a large orc where they all started out. He is barking out orders and batting aside goblins that get close.

You lash out against all the orcs near you, taking some punishment as they block with weapons. You get away and spring head long at the orc chief. When you get close you leap as he prepares and swings his massive axe at you. You beat him to the hit and slam into him, ripping at his armor as you bring him to the ground. He struggles

Sa'Aq tenses at the site of the approaching ships and looks at the captain of his ship anxiously before returning to watch the other approaching ships nervously. He waits till they get closer to see what they do.

Everyone aboard the ship begins running about. The men with their weapons line the rails, and large iron cylinders are rolled forward. The smaller ships begin to fan out and speed up. Soon you see a large puff of smoke from the opposing ships...and then a loud crack like thunder rolls over the water. Several splashes explode between the ships, falling short.

The massive flagship opens fire with two massive cannons on the front of the ship. The concussive blast shakes the deck and smoke fills the air. You peer out and see one of the enemy ships explode in splintering wood.

Naron gives an annoyed snort and finds a torch or something to let him see as he progresses down the tunnel, carefully grabs it in either claw or teeth, then heads down the tunnel to do whatever it is the priest seems to think he should do.

The sconces are empty, torches long disintegrated. The miners have lanterns and begin to enter the tunnel, casting light down the stone tunnel. The tunnel is filled with stale air and descends deep into mountain. You follow the miners, though the priests leave after blessing the tunnels. Soon the tunnel opens to an ancient cavern. Your eyes adjust and soon you can make out bones littering areas of the floor.

Ethelinda flies towards the big mechanical beast, looking for any dwarves on it, if she can find some she'll attack them by swooping down and clawing at them, maybe push them off the thing.

If she can't find them, she'll just try to distract it from kicking elven ass >.>

There are several dwarves on the machine. Some are on the outer rail, operating weapons. A few sit more towards center, pulling levers and flipping switches. You leap and swoop at them, knocking two away from the rail to the ground. You sweep in and claw one of the dwarves sitting behind the controls. Suddenly the whirling arm blades stop.

EVERYONE

Welp the time has come, my thesis is do in about 2 weeks, so I need to concentrate on that. We will pick up in this exact spot around April 5 or so. While I won't be fully done with work, I won't need to be bogged down with design work. This date might need to be pushed back a bit, but in general...sometime in the next month or so.

Sanctus falls on his back, then flips over onto his feet. He gives the man the
"I almost had you but the sun was in my eye" look that he had perfected over the months.

After a playful growl, he sits patiently, waiting for the regular routine to start, watching the others go about their practice.

since this is story and not action, I'm putting it on hold.

Continue following, there's obviously something here otherwise the priest would not bother bringing me.

You hear a skittering sound and then a screech. The miners ready their picks, some take out small axes. Suddenly the tunnel across from you bursts with motion. Dozens of giant insects with razor tipped legs and clacking mandibles surge into the chamber. You now understand why this tunnel was sealed centuries ago...

Eyes narrowing and meeting Calvin's, he gestures with his tail to tell Calvin to hide.

Not realising how big he has gotten, Drakon attempts to hide inside some bushes...

[Come at me bro!!]

You push Calvin into the bushes with your tail and then hop in in a cloud of leaves and dust. The voices near, and you see that it is a pair of large brown-ish green skinned orcs with bows and axes. The come into view, and immediately spot your red scales...They jump back and immediately shout something.

Qyro jumps into the river and swims southwards, looking for any kind of settlement of any kind of race.

gonna toss this on hold for now

Ethelinda keeps up her swooping attacks on the dwarves on the machine.
After one of those swoops she looks around for a moment to see how the battle is going.

You swoop in again, but a bolt from a crossbow hits you in the shoulder, and sends you wheeling away.

The sudden noise and smoke scares Sa'Aq and at first he thinks the men are trying to catch him but then he realises they're fighting each other. He takes off, being careful to avoid flying in front of where any of the cannons are firing and, whilst high in the air, flies over to the other ships and tries to get a look at them.

it's cool, just hold off til this comes back

-Level 1, use my two free affinity dice and auto roll them for 3's.

The orc charges at you fiercely. The pebbles do no damage, but slow his charge enough to take the danger out of immediacy. Your breathing is ragged now, as exhaustion wraps over you

The great claws dug into the earth, crushing gravel and stone. Dark scales glistened in the fading sun. A drop of red hit the dust, splattering. More drops fell to the ground like a summer rain. A dark shadow fell across the ground, and suddenly the dragon's body was slammed into the dust with a sickening crunch as spine broke and neck was torn releasing a spray of blood across the victor. The black dragon reared back, gore and blood staining its great maw. A roar broke across the rocks, shaking the earth. Hundreds of eyes watched the great black beast intently, unsure of themselves and bathed in fear. Then the first of them bowed its head and called out. Yellow orbs stared back at the other dragons, daring them to object. Heads lowered by the dozen. The night echoed with the calls of a hundred dragons.

The rookery had a new king.

-Flash to Battle-

Your breath comes ragged. You have pushed yourself to the edge of your own life, aware that you might collapse at any time, heart unable to take the strain. The large orc steps forward, spitting blood and shards of a broken tusk. He lifts his axe and charges. You rear back and slam down at him, trying to get within the orc's strike. You feel the blade tear into the flesh on your side and warm blood leaks down your leg. But the orc neglected the results of his action. He wounded you, but left himself open. The shaman upon your back leans out and jabs his spear straight into the neck of the orc chief. Blood spurts across you, and you feel the orc crumple as you fall upon him. You feel a cooling flow across you as the shaman struggles to close your wounds. Your eyes are heavy, and you cannot keep them open or lift your head any longer. As you fade into oblivion you see the goblins gathering, orcs nowhere around.

Suddenly you find yourself in the dark, a place of no smell or sound. Two yellow orbs stand before you, and you hear the flap of wings and scrape of claws. You feel the icy touch of death across your spine.

I am coming for you, little one. You are mine. Join me or fall

You awake suddenly, your heart racing. There are claw marks in the ground around you, and the animal skin below you is shredded. You recognize the interior of a goblin tent around you. A slab of something muddy is plastered on your side. Stretching causes you some pain, and you are stiff.

SGS

-Flash to that day in the cave-

Immediately you shuffle back, trying to figure out what is happening around you. The dwarves lash out, as the insects attack. Blade-like talons cut across armor, ripping it to shreds and spraying blood across the cavern. You leap out, crushing one of the insects below you. You tear at another, its bitter ichor staining your jaws. You soon realize that with several of the dwarves lying eviscerated on the ground, that you will be overrun in no time. The dwarves call a retreat, backing into the tunnel, fighting the insects off. You bound over to them, lashing out where you can. Soon the party has fought its way back to the dwarf barricades, you hear the trilling of the insects. It sounds like hundreds have joined the assault, and you can no longer see within the tunnel through the bodies. Another dwarf falls as they attempt to push barricades up. You summon power within you, and the earth begins to shake. Suddenly the tunnel begins to close as you contort the stone and the iron barricades to block the tunnel. The chittering of the things lasts throughout the night, and you can hear them, even within the stronghold. You go to sleep that night and soon find yourself within a dark place without smell or sound. Then two glowing yellow orbs flare to life before you, and you feel the icy touch of long claws digging into your flesh. You feel the heat of breath on your neck and then words fill your mind, before sharp fangs tear into your neck. You awake suddenly...the words lingering in your mind...

I am coming for you, little one. You are mine. Join me or fall

DrakonTheNightLord

-Flash to that day in the woods-

You hide in the bush, like a great red berry in a big green pile of leaves. The orcs spot you immediately and there is a shout of fright and an impressive jump backwards. One of the orcs notches an arrow and shakily raises his bow. You make a face:

http://www.40kforums.com/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=8487&d=1333425568

And the orcs look at each other. They near you, seeming to have not noticed Calvin. Soon the guard captain shouts through the woods, his sword drawn. Words are exchanged and the orcs lower their own weapons. More words are exchanged and it seems some sort of agreement is reached. The captain comes over and pats you on the head. He points towards the orcs and motions you on. Eventually you realize that you're following the orcs, who take you to their village. You and Calvin begin living with the orcs, which seems good for both of you. The village is not just orcs, but seems to be a group of refugees from various races. One night after some good deer meat you drift to sleep pointy side up, with Calvin against your wing.

Suddenly you find yourself somewhere dark, no sound or smell comes to you. Orbs of yellow emerge from the darkness and you feel an icy claw grab you.

I am coming for you, little one. You are mine. Join me or fall

The claw squeezes and you feel your body snap like a twig. You awake immediately and toss Calvin away in your fit.

PyroSikTh

You find yourself feared and chased away by most people you encounter. Perhaps the Warden was right. You eventually find a cave far enough from the places you found humans and other settlements. Your cave is fairly cozy and rather damp, which is perfect for you. One night you go to sleep, and suddenly find yourself in an unknown world of darkness. This isn't your cave....you would see moonlight. Suddenly two yellow orbs emerge from the darkness, and you feel yourself speared on an icy blade.

I am coming for you, little one. You are mine. Join me or fall

You are torn asunder and suddenly awake, your breathing ragged.

Arateus

You follow the orcs for a while, they seem to be traversing the plains...no set direction seems to emerge. Eventually you are too tired to continue to follow, and seek a safe place to sleep. You find some rocks in the plains. You suddenly find yourself in great darkness, unbroken by sight, smell or sound. You look about, and then see two yellow orbs staring at you through the black. You feel something grab you around the body and a cold washes over you.

I am coming for you, little one. You are mine. Join me or fall

You feel a sudden jerk as you feel your skin ans muscles torn away. You awake and bang your head on a rock

Thatfatguy

You come to the edge of the great lake, upon the water you see some sort of building, possibly even a whole city, but you are tired from the travel and find a place to sleep in the rocks by the lake shore. You suddenly find yourself in great darkness, unbroken by sight, smell or sound. You look about, and then see two flaming yellow orbs staring at you through the black. You feel something grab you by the neck and a cold washes over you.

I am coming for you, little one. You are mine. Join me or fall

You feel a sudden jerk to the side and hear your own neck crack. You awake to falling off a rock.

Silas
You have fallen into routine at the temple, days of training, nights of learning. One day you wake, and feel an odd sense of something...similar to what you felt the day you were woken with ice water, but there is no bucket. It bothers you through the day and you cannot focus. That night you go to sleep after a rather unproductive lesson on the virtues of the 6 monks of Durn. You find yourself flying on the breezes perfect world below you. The temple lies ahead, shining in the light of the sun. You cry out happily and then open your eyes. The temple lies in ruins, a dark cloud billows around you. You land in what's left of the courtyard, rubble and corpse strewn. The bodies of your friends lie mutilated on the steps of the great hall, and the stained glass is broken all about. You enter the shattered door and look towards the altar, always a focus and even source of light....now cast in utter darkness. You approach, trying to break the dark by sheer force of will. You notice the cold, as if death has wrapped you in his cloak. Then suddenly a low rumble, a throaty purr of contented hatred breaks the silence of the graveyard.

I am here for you, little one. You are mine. I will drink from your veins and sup on the flesh of your gods

Two massive orbs of yellow appear before you as a great head emerges. It rushes forward at you, too fast to think, and swallows you in a blade filled maw of death and destruction

Sa'Aq wakes with a jolt just as the roll of the ship tips him over the rail and into the cold sea beside the ship. For a few seconds he is stunned and simply sinks without a reaction and then the burning in his lungs reminds him that he should really do something so he pushes for the surface and the ship with powerful strokes of his leg and tail. Once he reaches the surface he flaps his wings a couple of times to put himself back on the deck of the ship. He notices the sailors on deck are all looking at him fearfully and so tries to keep his movements calm and careful as he walks over to the spot where he'd been sleeping. Upon reaching it he discovers the tarp he was sleeping under has nearly been shredded to rags. That could perhaps be the reason the men seem anxious. He gathers it up as best as he can and curls up on top of it to keep out of the way as he looks out over the sea and ponders the dream.

Whatever this things was it was powerful. And it was coming for him. At east it wasn't going to just swoop down and kill him in one blow. It obviously meant to try and get him to join it first. Would he? Why should he? Why shouldn't he? He wouldn't know whether or not he would join this dark presence until he knew more about it. He decided he needed to find out if anyone else knew more about this strange presence. But for that he'd probably have to learn to speak their language; no easy feat.

He paused at this thought and listened to the sailors about him, paying attention to the noises they made, trying to note any pattern or system. He did note that the one at the back near the wheel didnt seem to speak as much as the others often did but when he said things it always made the others rush about doing and saying other things. Perhaps he would be able to help Sa'Aq learn. Sa'Aq carefully got up and slowly walked/flew to the back of the ship and found somewhere to land/stand where he would be out of the way but near to the important man. He listened to the noises the man made and every so often tried to make the same noises as him.

Fall in water.
Get out of water
Curl up out of the way on tarp
Think
Make way to back of ship next to commander or whoever seems to be making noise back there
Sit somewhere as out of the way as possible
Try to make same noises as the commander when he makes them.

If there's any problems with any of this just do what you can and i'll react to that obv.

The helmsman is not the commander, but rather an older man with wispy white hair pulled back into a tail behind his head. You recognize words like port and starboard and mast and such, but your throat seems unable to pronounce them clearly. The helmsman laughs as you echo his commands.

Ahead on the horizon is a great outcrop of rock with a stony fortress atop it.

Grim'karl flaps his wings tosteady himself, and lands on the water of the lake, floating for a moment before heading towards the city

You swan delicately across the water in the manner of a drowning elephant paddling in an ocean storm. When you reach the island in the center you see that there is a large bridge to land, easily a miles long and wide enough for 12 wagons across it. Many spires of the city reach up to the sky, and a great wall meets the stone of the island surrounding it and blocking sight.

Stoneclaw looks around quickly, sniffing all the corners in the hut and dark places making sure that dragon isn't in there waiting for him. He then harumphs to himself and goes to pull another skin over the one he shredded. After trying, and failing, at cleaning up his little mess he slowly makes his way outside to see what is going on in his village and how his friends fared against those mean ol' orcs.

You look about sneakily, then brush the debris under a deer skin rug. You make a slight whistling sound as you exit the tent. It seems like there is less bustle around the village than normal. As you see individual goblins, you see many with bandages, and some missing limbs. The village is generally quiet.

Naron growls at nothing in particular then decides to go about his day. Not like he was getting back to sleep after whatever the hell that was.

The city is alive with action. Dwarves are moving about with purpose everywhere. The forges are blazing, the warriors are on guard, and the cooks are preparing hearty meals.

Sanctus startles awake, scrambling backwards and smashing against the back wall of his sleeping chambers. He sat there for a while, collecting his thought. Those eyes..... the dragon shivered and headed out to the libraries trying to remember if he'd seen carvings or paintings of a black dragon similar to the one in his dreams....

There is a tapestry in one of the deeper hallways of the temple that has dragons on it. There is a black dragon lashing up towards the sky, tipping over a pile of skulls and fire. A white dragon symmetrically lashes down from the clouds with light spilling down around it.

Wander around quite confused for a bit, and keep tailing the orcs out of something to do ness.

You have lost track of the orcs some time during your rest during the day, you must have slept and been in that dream longer than you thought

Greatly disturbed by the dream, Ethelinda follows the elves and their journey through the forest resting and recuperating from the battle as much as she can.

You are stiff from the battle, even though the healers tried to take care of your bolt wounds. You pad along softly with the elves. Night comes and the elves sit on the mossy ground, not truly asleep, but not truly awake. You sleep until woken by the female elf leader. After two days you encounter several elf warriors riding atop armored elk. They converse with your elves, looking often at you. When they are done, half the riders ride past, back the way you came, while the rest lead the refugees through the woods

You grab the priestess's sleeve and pull, tearing the delicate material. You recognize the scolding in her voice, but she follows along. You run ahead a bit, mewling for her to follow when she stops to talk to one of the monks you knocked over. Eventually she comes to the tapestry and looks at it. When you paw at it, she swats down your paw tenderly and then points to the white dragon, and then she kneels, gets close putting her face alongside yours and points up towards the white dragon again. She says something, and then another voice from behind. You look over and see the old priest walking slowly towards you. The priestess stands and greets him, before going to him and helping him towards you. He arrives and puts on some small lenses over his eyes.

You gather the energy inside you, the helmsman looks over noticing your change in stature and abrupt stop to echoing his singing. He goes back to looking forward then suddenly shouts and falls back swiping at the air in front of him. A sailor runs up and grabs the helm, while another helps the old man to his feet. The man begins to tell his comrades something pointing to his head and then making a fish movement with his hand. Then suddenly he stand up straight and looks at you, saying something and pointing at you. One of the sailors awkwardly salutes and backs away. He returns a minute later and hands something to the old man who has been staring at you the whole time. He walks over, kneels down and holds out a big blue fish.

Grim'karl flaps his wings, and heads for the tallest tower, landing on it and observing the city

Using the wall to kick off and climb up you eventually flap and circle high up. You look over the city where thousands of people move about the streets. Colors you have never seen and sounds you have never heard flutter in the wind and wash upon the breeze towards you. You land on the rounded spire of a tower, scraping and scratching for purchase on the slick material. There is a screech as your claws dig into the metal and stop your slide.

Stoneclaw tries his best to smile at every goblin he sees, even through the pain in his side. He searches out his friend Featherhead and tries to communicate the best he can about his dream, the yellow eyes, and the big black dragon.

You find the shaman shaking sticks and breaking fruits and rubbing herbs upon the wounded. You begin pantomiming your dream with a theatrical fall at the end. The goblin nods, thinking you are reenacting the battle, and continues his work

Drakon calms down, and sits Calvin and the Orc down and began to tell the tale of Dragon Horus and how they must unite to combat this dread threat...

Calvin nods as you tell your story, it's always only Calvin who can understand you it seems....the others either don't know how to speak, or are too in awe of you to speak your language. The orc tires quickly of your varied growls and cries and grunts. He pulls out of the tent, closing off the direct sunlight and leaving you with the reddish brown diffusion of the tent.

Qyro follows the Falcon as best he can, both on foot and in the air, to see where it's going.

soon you are able to get out of the canopy and take to the sky watching the falcon in the distance. Soon the falcon circles and lowers, crying out before disappearing over a small ridge presumably to land.

Naron heads to the kitchens to see if he can get a treat. Afterwards he heads back to the 'study' chamber to see if he can improve on his drawing skills a bit. Maybe this time someone won't loose their eyebrows.

The head cook greets you with a hearty shout and then tosses a fresh, bloody cut of goat to you. You catch the meat and scarf it down. After poking your head about, and upsetting a few cooks and pots of stew. You then head to the priest study and grab a brush and a rock. It turns out this is not a rune stone, but rather the rock used to prop open the door on warm days. You begin brushing ink on the stone with your mouth. You get bored after the first few marks stack up too much to read. You flop down and begin pawing at the stone lazily, while sprawling on the cool floor. After a while you stretch and stand and look at the rock. You have scratched in a rune deep enough with your claw that it is readable. One of the priests walks past, and you swish your tail at him to get him to come and look. He grumbles and comes over. He tuts and then pats you, it seems that you can claw out runes in the stone, better than you can brush them on.

Lexius87

By nightfall your party suddenly comes upon a wall...almost invisible in the wood. It is a white material like bone, but hard like rock. Once within the wall, you see that dozens of spires and beautifully sweeping buildings lie within. Many elves stand in the open courtyard and greet the refugees, tending to the wounded and leading the others into the city. Many crystals float about the area, some barely balanced on spindles others truly floating. All of them cast a soft blue, green light.

-Healing spell, low level, arcane I think, 2 auto rolled dice for 3's.

Indeed for you arcane. You feel your skin burn a bit, as the skin and muscle mends a bit. The stiffness disappears and you no longer feel pain. While you are not fully healed, you will be fine.

While you could possibly win the dragonling charades international tournament, you do not seem to convey great meaning to the Goblin. He seems agitated that you draw a dragon eating something...and launches into the same story and explanation you got months ago when you attempted to eat (or enthusiastically munch upon the snacke brought by) one of the goblins in the village. It soon occurs to you that you will probably not be able to really convey your dream to the shaman.

Qyro lands on the small ridge and peers carefully over it to see where the Falcon landed, and for who.

You realize as you approach that this is a very low ridge...more of a subtle hill. You plummet to the ground in a controlled crash to avoid being spotted. You employ your maximum stealth skills, blending in exactly 0% with the landscape of short grass and rock. You peer over the edge and see about two score humans in shiny metal armor atop varied horses below. One human in a particularly ornate suit of armor is holding the falcon and reading a message

Drakon thumps Calvin on the head playfully with his tail.

"What's the matter with you? Can't you translate whatever I said?"

Calvin shrugs...or maybe you imagine that, as he tumbles backwards onto a cushion

Ethelinda stares at the beautiful sight for a moment before searching for a place to sleep and something to eat.

You turn away from the glowing crystals and find several elves facing you. Of the five elves, only one is male. He enters a deep bow with a hand flourish you have come to recognize as a sign of respect and welcoming amongst the elves. One of the hand maidens has fruit; another bread. The women are also bowed, but in the manner of servants.

Grim'karl uses his vantage point to look for anything of interest, watching the human-things go around the large-strange-village

You are overcome by the sights and sounds...no one thing can claim your interest. Over here a man blows fire, over there a woman carries a steaming plate of honey glazed pastries, atop the wall a young man in a tunic is scolded by an armored man. Suddenly you hear a noise below you, and you creep a bit to the edge. A young man is standing on a balcony below you, his hands clenching a railing as he looks out at the city.

Try and contact the voice again- see if it will give me a place to go to.

You close your eyes, not thinking to try magic...and as hard as you try you cannot hear a response. But you suddenly feel a warmth of calm wash over you...as though you now know where you belong and how you can continue

Sa'Aq carefully reaches out and takes the fish and swallows it before sending a feeling of gratitude and apology to the helmsman through his mind before retreating back into his own mind, oddly tired from his simple spells, to ponder of the what he had done.

Your adventures at sea await your return. You don't need another spell; the link was maintained.

While you're exact thoughts may not be clear, the helmsman smiles and pats you, scratching slightly behind your ear. He then heads to the officers' deck through a door behind the helm. The younger sailor who is now at helm begins singing softly...it is a haunting melody and you sense a note of sadness in it. On the horizon you see the island, close now. It seems to be fortress atop a stony outcrop. It is night now, and the moonlight plays across the place, casting ghostly shadows. Pinpoints of light mark the island with braziers and torches, showing that there is someone there. You cannot be sure, but you estimate another two hours til arrival

You pump some energy into the stone (earth affinity). The rune glows slightly then fades. Perhaps you were not concentrating hard enough, but you become very excited, grabbing the rock and prancing about the library showing all the priests

For some reason the goblin seems to understand this, as if he had been expecting it. After a few hours of goodbyes and a short 'celebration' you are set up with some saddlebags and a skin to sleep on. You are not sure that they realize you're not actually a goblin. You set out towards the setting sun and soon you discover that these woods are next to a massive desert to the east. You can't believe this whole time that there was an ocean of sand and stone next to your home. It seems you can follow the river northwest or head into the desert

Grinning, Drakon checks if Calvin is okay (if he isn't, destroy the entire camp as I go berserk with grief, unleashing arcane energies of doom). After that Drakon wanders the refugee camp, looking for someone who might understand dragon-speak..

Calvin seems fine, a bit dirty, but ok. All of the people in the camp are orcs and humans. There is one very large orc like things that someone called an ogre. He spends most of his time eating dirt and flowers, but also carries logs and heavy things

After happily showing off his victory over rune crafting and usage, Naron sets the rock down and strikes a victory pose. This soon becomes boring, and he decides to go outside for a well earned play/explore.

You go to the main gate and wriggle through one of the cannon slots. There is a chilly breeze...the heart of the cold season is arriving (stupid Martin copyrighting the better wording of this sentiment)

The trees have a light dusting of snow, and animals stalk the woods. There are ram scouts patrolling around the woods and the mountainside

Qyro continues watching. The man in the ornate armour in particular. Maybe the man's reaction will give him an idea of what the message said.

The man hands the letter to one of the riders beside him, and then takes a skin at his side and drinks deeply from it before wiping his brow. He looks around and as his eyes come towards you, you pop down...perhaps a bit too late

Grim'karl tilts his head, and lets out a small snort at the man, looking down at him

The city is loud enough that the man does not hear you, and soon a woman joins him. She looks to be about his age but her hair is the color of honey versus his raven black locks. She puts a hand on his arm, and he slowly turns. He has a saddened look on his face, which immediately melts to a smile as he sees the woman. They say something and then embrace

Stop and sit awhile, feeling out with my mind until I can find some direction that feels like I should be travelling in that direction

The ogre seems to generally understand you though occasionally there mistakes...like the time you got a barrel full of amphibians instead of emptiness. He seems to want you to accompany him and Whump (and yes, he begrudgingly admits that Calvin can come) to carry some supplies to a village.

Ethelinda bows her head in greeting, before starting to eat the fruit and stuffs.
She then decides to take a quick nap and then investigate the new and strange place she arrived at

The place is much bigger than your village, easily triple the size...with as many more buildings and spires as much taller. It seems that since it is night the village is simply not filled with active elves right now. There are archers along the wall, and elk riders patrolling the woods nearby. The occasional robed elf walks along the wall.

Sanctus does not enjoy the looks he is getting, and slowly...slooooowwwlly begins to back away from the two.

Suddenly the man brightens and declares it dinner time. The hall is alive with noise as the temple residents eat and debate and tell about their days (it is feast day, once a week all residents eat at the same time, in the same place and there is better food)

With heartfelt goodbyes Stoneclaw heads out of the village and makes his way to the river which he begins to follow northwest. He's sad for a little while until he remembers he's on an adventure now and his mood brightens up. He begins hopping along beside the river like a playful little kid.

You're quite enjoying your trek until you see a shadow pass overhead. You look for the bird that made it, probably a large eagle. It's bright out, and the limited clouds obscure the sky. You don't see the bird, sad as chasing it might have been a good excuse to stretch your wings and a fun game to boot. You splash and play a bit more, before getting up on the bank and shaking off. You keep walking through the grass as the sun warms you and fish dart in the river.

Suddenly there is a massive thud and the ground shakes as a shadow blocks out the sun at your back. You turn quickly jumping back. Before you stands a massive white scaled dragon. It stares at you with green eyes, each the size of your paw.

Dragonling, you walk this world alone? Wearing the garb of a lowly pack animal put upon you by your lessers? You disgrace your kind

He narrows his eyes and you feel a welling of magic, suddenly a whipping of wind slices the harness from you. Your packs and blankets fall to the ground

Do you wish to know what it means to be a dragon? To be the most ancient of races of this world? Are you ready to take your place and reclaim this world with your brethren?

Qyro waits, hidden, keeping his eyes and ears keen on his surroundings, and listening to the men below.

Your right ear twitches and you slide your eyes there. One of the humans, in leather armor and carrying a bow with readied arrow, pointing down kneels in the grass, about 20' away. You look left and see two more similarly readied.

You soar along the mountain, soon realizing that the intense winds next to the cliffs are more than you really want to deal with. You twist out over forest and sail east, you eventually see a glittering blue serpent in the distance that must be the river coming down out of the mountains.

Drakon gets excited and jumps about frenziedly, stopping only for Calvin to put on his power armour I mean harness.

The ork slips the collar over your shoulder, and Whump lifts Calvin into the wagon. You take

Qyro watches the archers on either side. He remains incredibly still, just darting his eyes between them waiting to see what they do and/or why they're here.

If they raise their bows towards him and draw, Qyro will use the grass they're in to shunt them off-balance, giving him a chance to run/fly away (Should be basic? So just auto-3 my stock 2D6, if it's medium then auto-3 an extra 2D6 from my pool)

After a few moments one of them men stands and waves a piece of cloth. The others stand....bows still ready, but down. You hear movement below, and the small clatter of metal and footsteps

Feeling safer, Ethelinda decides to look for a soft and warm place to sleep.
When she wakes up, she'll go look for a mage or something to keep trainin her magics!

You wake up in a tangled heap of some sort of hay. There is an agitated elk watching you while it chews.

You don't really know where the mages might be, this whole place seems magical. You hadn't noticed before...but you can't find the old mage who used to play with you with the crystals. You can't remember seeing him, or really any of the older elves on the forest path to this city. You see some of the robed figures on the wall, and decide they must be magic.

Satisfied with the results so far Sa'Aq decides to leave off on more magic practice for tonight and instead moves to the front of the ship to get a better look at the place they're sailing towards.

You are now close enough, that your keen eyes can make out human figures on the island and the licking flames of torches. The ship slows as two of the smaller war ships dock on the island, the fleet staying further out. The smaller ships unload a series of men in ropes and chains. They seem to be prisoners from the battle, perhaps this island is some sort of fortress prison.

Sanctus reluctantly follows the two towards the feast, giving one last look back at the picture. He ate his food in silence and at the first opportunity, snuck outside for a night flight. Circling the grounds.

You fly over the temple and the surrounding fields in lazy and loose circles. Cattle scatter when you linger overhead. You keep seeing shadows flit across the edge of your vision and when you turn and see nothing, you know the yellow eyes are back where you had been looking. But alas the night is empty, snf you are haunted by nothing but fear.

Fly to the SUUNN!!
Try find any habitations around and scout them (not orks obviously)

It seems like there is not an real settlement anywhere on this plain...but it's large and you can only explore so much at a time. You do see something that grabs your attention. A large black rock that glitters like glass in the sun. You fly close and note how the rock almost looks like a creature. And then it moves. You crash to the ground as you turn to avoid the raised body and lifting head of a massive black dragon with glassy scales.

You make almost no presence on this place, you were not easy to find.

The dragon looks over your wounds, still slightly visible.

You are still weak, dragonling. Your isolation from the broods have left you malnourished and without power. The Lord of Dragons can change this. Come with me, little one. Learn what it means to be a dragon. Learn what it means to command the powers of this world

Grim'karl snakes his tail out, and touches the mans shoulder before quickly hiding on the roof, if he isn't noticed, he repeats

The man does not notice the first poke, then he says something and brushes the woman's hand away, before laughing. Apparently he thinks this woman is the one poking him...this bothers you and you poke a bit too hard...the couple looks up into your face...and scream. The man stumbles back, pushing the woman behind him, as he draws a slender sword and yells something at you

oh shit, sorry, got distracted and then moved on

You take off down the road, the wagon rumbling behind you. The first day is pretty basic, but night gets tricky as Whump is afraid of the dark. The next day you come to a bridge that has been all but washed away by the river flooding. This is your first indication that trouble might have befallen this village. But the next day after that, you discover that there might be even more to it than that. The village is partially burned down, and there are emaciated villagers all about.

There are some people with minor injuries, and you cast some magic (3 separate minor spells, 6 dice total) to heal them...this tires you greatly. But their real problem is hunger, which is solved with the dense and nutritious bread and dried meats in your cart. The children seem delighted by you, roughly patting and petting and poking. Soon all of dragon kind will be with us, when we reach the rookery. You will see hundreds of your brethren. The rookery is a massive network of cliffs and caves. Goblins are beneath us, servants to our greatness. You will return to them as their lord and master, if it is willed. the months you have existed are meaningless until you have a dragon to teach you about what you will become.

You fly on in silence, contemplating the words.

There

Ahead of you, on the horizon you see massive cliffs at the edge of the desert. Beyond you see only grey shadow in what looks like mist from here. When you reach the cliff, you see that there are massive forms moving in the mist. Greater even than your guide. The look slightly human, but more hulking and bulbous. As you fly past, they hang their heads, a collar around each of their necks. You are no bigger than the fingers on their hands. In the mist you also see the occasional dragon like silhouette in the distance.

Grim'karl looks at the man, making no move and just looking at the sword, tail swishing as he stares at the people

The man shouts again, perhaps trying to get you to go away. When you do not move, he skirts sideways, moving the woman behind him. He keeps his body in front of her, until he is able to push her inside and he stand before the doorway. He says something to her, and you hear the clicking of her shoes disappear within

If only that were true...When you get close you discover that it is in fact a large creature with shimmering blue scales and a serpentine body. You pull back, landing some distance away, realizing as the beautiful creature turns her face, that it is a dragon with gem-like scales.

I wondered if you would ever leave that musty mountain. The time has come for you to find your kind...and join us

The Commander is on deck now, his hat under one arm. He seems to be overseeing the loading of new supplies brought from the fortress on very fast ships. Some men are replenishing munitions, stacking metal balls for the cannons and positioning powder kegs. Others are bringing on fresh fruit, tossing a piece to every sailor on the way. The sailors cheer and pick their way into the fruits. A piece is tossed to you, and you gnaw on the shiny green fruit. It is incredibly sour, and you shake your head as the fruit dries your mouth while making you drool at the same time.

I'm here to take you to your people, child. The Dragon Lord cares for all his children, you will meet him. He will teach you to be powerful. Then one day you may return, and be king of this mountain

Shes straightens and unfurls her wings taking off slowly, waiting for you to follow.

The journey is long, even by air. Come, dragonling

Drakon sleeps HIS FRIENDS under his wing, protecting them from the adult arsonist douchebags they call their parents. When he wakes up he'll play hide and seek with them until its time to leave.

You stay for another day and in the morning of the following day you take up the cart again, now packed with some refugees. You must travel slower, so the journey home will take twice as long. Halfway home the party stops at the edge of a stream, while the orc goes to hunt. You and Whump are left to watch the children. All 10 of them. 9 of them. Wait...there were 10. He continues the rest of his flight in silence thinking about all the white has said to him on his journey.

Those are the Titans of the Waste, the Lord of the Rookery conquered them after his rise. They serve us by guarding the wall and digging out the lairs. That is just a mountain, the Rookery lies beyond

You crest the ridge of the mountain...and at first you don't process the view. Then you see it...and don't believe it. Before you hundreds of miles of dug out ground and carved canyons. Thousands of dragons wheel in the air or perch on the cliffs.

The Rookery

Grim'karl snorts, looking at the man, poking his tongue out at his strange behaviour, and attempting to make a silly face.

You're not certain...but perhaps dragon silly faces...due to the shape of your head and face....might resemble snarling.

The man immediately steps back and raises his guard, startled by your response. And suddenly his leg spasms as he slips on something. He tumbles backward...and right as you perk up at the funniness of him falling down...he slips over the railing.

Qyro slowly advances down the slope towards the leader and his groupies, attempting to look impressive (but not threatening) the whole time. Once he gets close enough, he nudges the Leader's hand with his face to encourage petting.

As you get fairly close, sniffing out, the man holds out an armored hand. You see that the metal only covers the tops, underneath is a leather glove. You prod the hand with your nose and push against it until he rubs your head a bit. He reaches into a pocket with another hand and pulls out a piece of dried meat. He holds it out to you while rubbing your muzzle.

I know that I don't know where they are in character.Sorry, to clarify- Fly south east.I know the other dragon was talking to me, but I have no idea where said dragon is. So flying in a direction in hopes I find said dragon is my choice at the moment.

So...I don't want to be that guy...but the dragon talking to you is like 20' in front of you. You were flying, saw what you thought was a big piece of like black-rock-glass thing...and then suddenly you realized that it was a dragon, who stood up and spoke to you.

What say you, dragonling. Will you follow me to the Rookery to take your place amongst the dragons. Or will you stay and rot amongst the ground dwellers?

You would let them use you? Like they used our ancestors? You would let them wall you up with them to die, to never taste the air of freedom and enjoy the world? You grab him by the shirt and put him on your back before trotting to the cart. The empty cart. Whump is under the cart, hands over eyes, saying his name in varied tones as he counts. You are now at 1 out of 10 children.

The little boy slides off your back, squeals in glee and runs off.

it is indeed tasty...completely devoid of spice, and most of its juice. The man calls out something to the others. The guys with bows come to the edge of the ridge looking down, their weapons are now sheathed

it's okay..someone had to be that guy...
Yes. That would be nice...I would leave the ground dwellers to rot.

Then come.

The glassy black dragon takes to the sky, circling once and then flying to the southeast. After several days of flying over massive plains, lakes, rivers and expansive forests...you reach the edge of a great sea of sand, larger than any plain you have seen. The dunes and stone outcrops expand forever to the north, east and south.

There is little water and food until the rookery. Be ready.

With that the dragon dips and soars out over the sand.

Sanctus tilts his head to the wolves..... and then an idea comes to him....

He calls upon the magic deep inside of him and imparts on the wolves the feeling that he is a part of the pack, one of their own.... imbuing them with a sense of loyalty and the promise of more goats....

Wolf Pack of one... that is now more than one.

If they accept, he will scooch aside and let them join in on his meal and then go get another goat and bring it back for more.

If they don't.... snarl at them and continue eating while keeping an eye them.

You summon the energy of your spirit as you stare down the wolves. Soon you see the effects of your calming spell, as the wolves' ears come forward and snarls stop. They come forward and lie down, tearing at the large goat

I'm the commander of the Free Company's fleet. We're hunting pirates who loot and ravage the coastal towns. That battle was with a pirate fleet that has been murdering its way down the coast. The prisoners are being left here. This is considered an inescapable prison. They will work here, until it is determined that they can be released to land, where they will work off their debts under the command of the magistrate

Naron drops back to the ground and starts to make his way back to the mountains by foot, walking a path around the other dragon if she continues to try blocking his path.

Suit yourself. I'm going back home. You best hope the rookery master isn't mad when he comes here

The dragon takes off disappearing into the blue sky in a shimmer of reflected light.

Drakon runs off to hide before Whump finds him!!

(not at all concerned that the children ran off into the woods...while whump thinks it's a game, eh?)

You run off in the woods...probably no where near the children and well out of sight of Whump, who you know cheats accidentally because he is afraid of the dark created by covering his eyes.

You dart through the trees and over a stream, and somewhere near grandma's house you trip over something.

You get up and angrily turn on what must have been a root....a blue root...a scaley blue root attached like a tail to a massive blue dragon.

Dragonling, what are you doing playing with children? You should be with your own kind, learning to be a noble dragon....not pulling a cart like some common pack animal

Qyro looks and sniffs around inquisitively looking for more meat.

You sniff about his belt and pouches before diving into one that contains meaty morsels. The falcon cries out and flaps, from its perch upon one of the other man's arm. You pull up...meat bits falling from your full maw. The men laugh. The leader closes the pouch and tosses it to the falcon wielding man.

Stoneclaw follows the white in looking around with saucers for eyes. His slight concerns over how haughty the white is forgotten for now while he takes in the wonders before him. He finishes the journey in silence.

You soon land behind the white dragon on a ledge before the dome. He steps aside and waves you in with his head. You enter the dome, and see hundreds of dragons, bigger than you, but smaller than your guide. Each is perched somewhere around the circular cavern. A great big cave is set at the opposite side, but it is too dark to see into. Some of the dragons look at you as you enter. You note that these dragons are all a dusty brown to black in scale color, and look generally the same.

Sanctus finishes his meal and then snuggles with the wolves for a little bit before licking the alpha goodbye and flying off towards the east, not ready yet to return to the temple as the dream of the yellow eyed dragon still plagued his thoughts.

The wolves yip a bit and see you off with howls. To the east the river continues, growing larger in parts and gentler in others. Soon you find that the river splits and picks up speed flowing south

Eat up what I can of anything around and drink (if possible) then follow the mysterious dragon away over the dunes

Soon you crest the ridge of the mountains...and at first you don't process the view. Then you see it...and don't believe it. Before you hundreds of miles of dug out ground and carved canyons. Thousands of dragons wheel in the air or perch on the cliffs. Your guide sweeps left and you see ahead that there is a large rounded mountain, easily able to hold hundreds of dragons within its sphere.

The guards by the main gates seem agitated and all the heavy locks are in place. As you make your way deeper into the kingdom...you notice that there are few dwarves about. Only the occasional guard still monitoring the tunnels. The priests are not in their study, and the king and his council are not in chambers.

Qyro eats until he's had his fill and then takes a wander around the camp to see what he can see.

You gulp down the last of the meat, but any hope to explore a camp is dashed when you realize all the men are on horses and in the fairly small group here (about 30 guys, plus leader). The archers return to their mounts and the leader replaces his gauntlet.

suddenly the light behind you is blocked again and you turn to see a big black dragon land. Next to him is a dragon about your size. His scales are somewhat rocky like yours, but black with red edges. The big dragon leaves, and you are left looking at the dragon like you.

The next morning you see that the ground is becoming less broken, and forests begin to creep up. Then men ride through the trees, slowing as necessary to navigate the trees. There are pockets of smaller magics here and there, most likely single mages or creatures of magic. There are also the magical ghotly images of dragons...one is in the essence in the mountain....one is southwest in the sea...one is far northeast and another lies beyond that to the east. There is a large plume of magic around a dragon form, moving fast from the mountains to the southeast, and another similar one moving from the south to the east.
