Okay from various sources including some who wish not to be named, the Eldar Codex will be realeased around December/January. It will include the Eldar, Dark Eldar, Harlequins, Exodites, Craftworld Eldar and Eldar Pirates.

I have a hard time believing that. All indications point to the Tyranid Codex as the next release, on top of that fact there hasn't been a lot of talk about Eldar recently.

Well, from what I've heard, that is correct, although that release seems a little too soon.

No one has started working on re-doing the eldar, so how they know what'll be in it is anyones guess.

I just don't see how they could be releasing the new codex that soon, we we haven't heard a word about it whereas normally there is a ton of talk about it about 6 months before.

On top of that GW usually releases Codexes at least 6 months apart from each other, this would be 2 to 4 months.

Hmmmm the way they made it sound at Games Day Baltimore, the Dark Eldar will remain a seperate army, and wont get redone until after all the schudled ones, but GW is NOT dropping them. Codex Eldar will primarily be just that plain Eldar with Harlequins and Exodites having their small share as well.

If I am wrong you can beat me up.

no, that sounds about right. but i cant see harlies or exodites getting more than a mention, or possibly one squad in the new 'dex.

Well the Buzz makes it seem like the Harlies will get their own mini codex section, I only just heard that Exodites would be in there, but the Harliquins have quite a few unique units so I am wondering how big this codex would have to be.... I think itd be cool if GW released a 3rd codex with just harlies, pirates, and exodites.

Well seeing as the new marines will continuen to be released into November that's a very short time to do another army and they have to squeze nids in between.

it would be cool to se pirates and exodites have vaguely official rules, but i doubt it'll ever happen, and if it did, much like the actual eldar one, it wont be for aaaages yet.

I don't think it's coming out yet. Oh well. Sounds interesting.

I agree it sounds great. Ive also heard this rumour and I live in Australia. Can't wait for Harlequins to be released to see what changes have been made and to see what new models GM releases. 8)

i doubt they'll release new models even more than i doubt they'll release one giant codex, or any harley rules for that matter...

BlackDuck

nononono... i've played a rampant solitare many times, infact, i've never played against harlequins, only with them, but its not that, its that GW don't seem to like them, or atleast, they dont seem to want to do anything with them.

I doubt the part about the DE being in the Codex, I just can't see GW putting them in a codex with the Eldar.

Yeah, and didn't they re-realease the Dark Eldar codex with the new type of boarder around it?

They have a look going for it. And it looks good.

BlackDuck

they did, but that's for the 'old' rules, although they dont need alot of changing for the 'new' ones.

Did anyone see the second edition Dex. That had them all didn't it?

Could be wrong, cos ive only ever seen it briefly.

This is 4th Edition though, not 2nd Edition.

nah, they had rules for pirates, (one squad) and a character pirate type guy, but no DE.
