Who else has gotten this game? Im only about 50ish quests in, but im bloody addicted. My only complaint about the game is that it takes a RIDICULOUS amount of time to acquire better gear, seriously, as far as knives go ive only been able to get the jack knife, kard, and whatever the one that teaches you loot lvl 2 is, not including the Khuruki that Adelle come with, which doesnt teach any theif A-Abilities. Phail. Ah well, it wont keep me from playing it.

Not so much addicted anymore, but do have it.

Classes are bloody difficult to unlock without getting too high in level, ruins my planned builds. >_<

exaclty, which makes it exceptionaly difficult to "max out" the stats of your characters. Seriously, i think if you compared a lvl 20 fighter FFTA to one from FFTA2, the latter does a good 20 damage less with his physical attacks, not to mention them totally fuxing up the way battles work with the new facing thingymubobbers. (Higher damage from hitting an enemy from the back or sides as opposed to higher chance to hit, but it does make gunners and bowmen alot more fun ^^)

I played it a shitload during my last holidays.

Yeah, it's an improvement over FFTA. And I loved FFTA, definately one of my fav games. But I haven't played it since, so I dunno, I've lost interest.
I think it may be just way too long. I think I had, what, 50 hours on it, and I'm pretty sure I hadn't unlocked all of the abilities (there was something talked about in the manual that I couldn't do yet).
Maybe it's my dumb fault for choosing hard mode.

Sweet game. You need to sink a lot of hours into it though...

I got a bunch of DS games, but have played barely any of them because I only play DS when I'm travelling generally. Even though some are on par with PC/Wii games it doesn't feel right playing the DS at home. I feel bad about neglecting some of them -- I bought The World Ends With You a few months ago and I haven't started it yet.
Should get into them this summer holidays though, I just finished uni.

I have it as well. I have beaten it. Honestly, I thought the game overall was a pretty good game, but neither FFTA nor FFTA2 carried the same replay value as FFT and the psp version did, at least for me. I know they are two different games, but the you just can't beat the original at ALL.

And for those of you still playing here is a little tip from me:
Once you unlock Parivir, make your CC person a Black mage and get Geomancy, because Geomancy+Parivir skills (Don't know the actual name sorry)=Rape. Seriously, you would be able to kill something that was like, 20+ levels higher than you on Easy, but if you play hard, it is almost required you do that to survive later in the game.

What system is it for? I loved the original FFT and would like to get into another version if possible.

there are two different versions:
FFT and FFTWoL (War of the Lions right?) are PS and PSP respectively
FFTA and FFTA2 are GBA and DS respectively.

I've never played War of the Lion yet, but I think I'd still prefer the original over it. 1 quick question about it though:
Can you still dupe the One-of-a-kind swords like Excalibur, or did they fix that?

I havent tried it yet, but I think it should still work, you still get two save slots and the ability to trade characters and the like I believe.
