I like this list. How a ravenguard list should be really. It is strong against the right enemy but you may struggle against firepower who can get you in line of sight. (see my marines hehe). The only thing i would say against fluff is that there aren't enough lightning claws.

2nd try, i now have 3 powerfists, 8 plasma pistols, 2 energy weaons, 2 Lascannons. I left lightning claw out because i believe they belong to the commander. The other way my Reclusiarch become too expensive.

Tell me wether it got better.

Scout, Marines and Assault Marines are Raven Guard's key units, and Land Speeders are their key vehicle. anything else than can't be dropped or tansported in thunderhawks are usually left behind.

You have a good list, but it's not totaly true to their fluff.

The 2 minimum troop choises makes it unfluffy, I dont care what army it is...


Strong? Try that agaisnt a 1500 point all genestealer Seeding Swarm (There was a guy at a palce I played warhammer, 36 Genestleaers for Fast Attack, 36 genestealers fr HS, 24 for troops, and an HT for hq (Represented by an Inquisitor scale genestealer). It would get slaughterd. Or hell, use it agaisnt my nid list, would be slaughterd (Higher init), aswell as agaisnt DE, and Khorn... And well, any purely cc based army. I mean, sure, Tau would have trouble, but everything elce could take it...


Interesting? Sure! Assault marines look cool if painted well, and it would be very intertainignt o see go on teh table! So many assault marines! ^^ I give it plus marks there.

I'd throw some LCs onto the HQ choices for both fluff and extra oomph.

1500pts .... I'd seriously think about dropping one of the Assault Squads ... you need to strengthen the Troops choices. In fact, think about a 10 strong Scout squad with Vet + PFist. This could infiltrate and tie up units early making the Assault Squads journey less dangerous. It's what I'm going to try out in my next game, as I'm going Assault Squad heavy as well.

For 1750 - 2000pts you can then throw the Assault Squad back in.

Don't be too concerned about having no Land Speeders for fluff reasons.... However, you may find yourself lacking the mobility they offer. If you were to drop one of your Assault Squads I'd take a couple of Tornados in the spare slot. Actually, make it some MM LSers as you're lacking in anti-tank weaponary.

Plus you might want to reduce one of your Assault squads numbers, give them Melta Bombs and use them as a mobile tank hunting force. Throw in an extra 15pts for a TH instead of a PF and you're even more dangerous.

Just noticed that 2 of your Assualt guys have a Bolt Pistol & Plasma Pistol. I like the idea. Still get a bonus attack, plus you don't have to gamble on killing yourself when firing at an easy target ... Plus the models could look good.

Not only is it good tactical idea, it's really fluffy. Pure RG stuff ...

In fact, it could be great if you took all Scouts and no Tactical squads, although you lose a lot of your anti-tank weapons.

Throw in 9 Snipers and you might get a lucky Sniper penetration on the side as well (2D6 now) ...

Things i didn't do:
-Landspeeders (I don't like em, can't say why)
-Infiltrating(24" instead of 18" is no real difference)
-Terminator Honorus(Didn't fit point wise)
-Drop 1 Assault squad(I dropped Elite instead)
-Snipers (expensive)
