I've finally finished my Baneblade and I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Then again I should be as I started the bloody thing back in January! Let me know what you think. The last two pictures are a better representation of how the colours actually look.

Great paint job! Nice texture, good highlights, excellent blending.

The only thing that kills me is the mold line down the barrel. Other than that, the only thing I can see to maybe work on are the glass lenses in the lamps. They seem a little flat.

I am nitpicking a bit... it's a good looking job!

The paint job looks great! I can see the chaos markings and such, but it needs to be more spikey or have some trophies or something on it to show just how chaos-y it is. Other than that, great work.

I like it. It isn't often you see clean Chaos stuff. I know ordered an chaos don't go together, but they are still a fighting force. You need some semblance of order in it for it to work. Personally I tend to find skipky, trophy covered vehicles a little..... much.

Yeah I agree.

That's probably the best chaos BB I've ever seen.

Cheers for the comments fellas. I've deliberately not done the whole spikes and faces on the gun muzzles thing. My chaos marines are like that and I think they look good. But after 10,000 years in the Eye of Terror, I've always thought that all the extras just grew there. This is the first installment of my renegade militia army. They were probably loyal imperials a few months ago, and have certainly never been anywhere near the EoT. That's why I just removed the imperial markings and replaced them with chaos symbols on a one to one basis.

How did you make the symbols?

Did you carve them yourself, or just painted on?

Or bought from forgeworld or something? Maybe they come with the model as extras in the box?

I wish I was talented enough to carve them. They are Forge World etched brass

I just filed off the imperial markings and glued on a chaos one before undercoating.

Very nice indeed Spidapex…

Cheers. I'm going to paint the stormhammer to match. I think I might have to get one of the plastic shadowswords to finish my super heavy squadron.

Agreed.

Also, I really like the colors on it Spidapex. The first two pictures make the colors look very bright and not all that great together. Then I got to the lst two pictures, and I went "Nice!" Great choices on the paint scheme.

Only suggestion would be to pick out the chaos symbols a little bit more. Not necessarily paint them in a different color, maybe just highlight them. They look very nice in these pictures, but I'm sure they're they are much harder to see in real life, unless tou're right up next to the thing.

I like it. It's subtle which is nice. I agree with Sharp that the chaos iconography needs to be a touch more represented, but other than that it's a very nice tank which will FALL TO THE INSURMOUNTABLE FORCES OF THE IMPRERIUM... But I digress...
