Has anyone ever placed a tech marine in a BT Assualt squad? I was looking at the tech marine for BT and they can have items from the armory namely a jump pack, and in terminator honors and you have a character with 4 PW attacks a plasma pistol, a twin-linked flamer (w/ the signum), and 2 PF attacks,a and a 2+ save for a whole 140 pts. Seems like it would add a whole lot more punch to an Assualt squad already equipped with 2 flamers and a PF or PW.
I tried that. Seriously, do not do it. Its an independent character with 1 wound and no invulnerable save. That means a power weapon in btb with your techmarine (especially as you want to get in cc this is likely to happen) is extremely likely to take out 140 points of your army in one turn. I think the chances of the techmarine earning his points back (and more, otherwise there would be no point to taking him) would be extremely slim. try it if you want, but don't expect a great result.

Yes, that's a whole lot of punch, but Black Templars still have the Uber power houses that are the 4th Ed Chaplains, so I'd say you were better off with one of them joining an Assault Squad.

Nah, best IC config for BT is:
EC + Accept any challenge
Cheap Marshall for Ld10 Rites (possibly with the JP if you have an Assault Squad)

Well the BT techmarine has 2 wounds, and for 10 pts you can give him a storm shield for a 4+ invulnerable save. So that puts him up too 150 pts.
