Ann's War

Battle reports from my games and occasionally some other topics. I started out in gaming with original D&D back in the mid-70's and never shook the habit. I like to give my characters little roles to play and I count a game as a win if everyone had fun and I played my characters the way they are "supposed" to be played and not just to get Kill Points, take objectives and so on. Not that I mind getting Kill Points, taking objectives ... or even winning. It is just hard when your army is led by a warboss named "Hungry" who is both perpetually ravenous and also an invertebrate coward...

cheers!

I was cleaning out some pictures from my cell phone, when I ran across a couple of photos from a six or eight player game of Muskets & Tomahawks I had the pleasure of playing in some time ago. Muskets & Tomahawks bills itself as a game of "skirmishes in North America during the 18th century." I enjoy the game not only for how it plays, but because I have an interest in the French and Indian Wars. .Thank you very much to Gamemaster

  2. Ann's Battle Reports, Painting, etc.

Ann's summer painting challenge to complete some units. A few of the models were already painted but the idea was to make some playable units or max out some already playable ones, rather than just painting randomly as I'm often wont to do.

Finished a minimum-sized trio of three nob bikers with their warboss.

  3. Orks versus Orks: 1500 Points

Well, I failed my late 2013 painting challenge miserably. So my punishment was not to play orks until the challenge was finished. Five months of no orks and in fact no 40K at all, General Hungry has convinced me that we've all suffered enough and that perhaps it is time to just move on. So I had my first game of the year a few days ago.

    1500 Point Armies
Mission: The Scouring (fast attack is scoring)
Deployment: Dawn of War (long table edges)

  4. Ork #9 from a trukk squad

I haven't been playing or painting for 40K for several months. I was finding the game a little stale, so a break was in order. Also, the game store ten minutes from my house closed and moved 30 miles away. I haven't really made much of an effort to meet new gamers because I'm probably moving to the Seattle area at the end of May. My husband's company has him travel up there from time to time, and one of the groups he has worked with offered to bring him into their group, which he is excited ...
