Deception

Posted this earlier but because of the forum time being reset have to repost it.

Well ive been in the hobby on and off for about 2 and a half years and ive never had a true epic conversion, always wanted to do one but i was either too busy, lazy or find an excuse to not bother attempting. but i think nows the time!

I ALWAYS wanted to make some sort of epic robot mecha thingy in 40k, im a Huge fan of giant robots and such, but not so much for the Titans as they seem just to large, Expensive, and unwieldy. I always wanted something like the Armored Core series, something Thats incredibly mobile, tough and with impressive firepower, then i thought Tau! perhaps instead of investing there resources into huge titans like the other factions they instead compact it into a smaller powerful frame.

So the actual model ill just use in friendly games as a HammerHead tank to go along with my battlesuit themed army, however in apocalypse games, im going to make it into a Flying Monsterous Creature! with the jetpacks it would make sense.

So i bought a Dreadknight because i thought it would be a good base to build off of however its quite stocky to what i would use, but when i was at the store the other day i happen to wonder by the toy section and noticed MegaBloks had a collection of halo themed playsets, and i noticed they had a 6" tall "magnetic" actionfigure like figures. upon closer inspection i saw that this model was not only poseable but the armor peices were able to be snapped on and off.

as you see this is going to be the base of my new Ubersuit. i got mainly for the fact i can still use most if not armor pieces (a side from the head) cut off in some areas with plasticard and other bits to fill in gaps and create a self contained appearance.



around the chest i plan to armor up the front and add vents from the Piranha and create a backpack like structure in the back with jet exhausts and mounts for weapons. and the head ill make into the tau signature camera like head.

definitely going to be a long project and right due to limited funds im just waiting on getting new kits to start kit bashing. but it will be fun. by the time i im through you shouldnt be able to recognise it.


So what does everyone think? comments questions suggestions?

Would like to hear suggestions for a proper name, like the XV100 escalations suit or something?
