If the olfactory organs of a Tau are inside the mouth, does anybody know what the purpose of "I"-shaped slit in the forehead is?

One question that seems to make the most nonsense ever, if tau are a Shooting race then why do they have terrible eyesight? please rework this in the new codex because thats like saying orks are a melee race but they have skinny weak arms.

Its a choice, they chose to be shooty... Also they (Tau) have weak arms too :p
Remember the Fire Cast evolved from hunters, not warriors, so that is their style of war.

They could of chose to learn melee like Farsight, hence his, and his army's way better stats.
