Selling army, leave it (badly) painted or strip paint?

    First of all hello,

I was into warhammer 40k around 8 years ago and I have an eldar army which I now want to sell. The problem is that the paint job its pretty poor on a lot of the models, and in others the paint is slightly peeling away.

My question is if you guys were to buy an army off ebay, would you want it painted our stripped so you could paint it yourself?

    Cheers guys!

Put it up as it is. People can strip it themselves or keep it painted in order to field it right away. Just don't expect retail price

Hello and welcome to the forum!
It really is your choice, a unpainted army would sell for more, but then some people look for painted figures at a cheaper price and then strip them theirselves.

If you have the time and the gear Id say strip them down.

    Hope that helps|!

    Thanks for your help!

I think I'm going to strip them down, I'm not in a rush to sell them so I can take my time and do a good job.

Now another question (and I realise that you guys are my target audience, but here goes). Would I get more selling as a whole army, or should I split them up?

    Thanks guys!

You'd probably get more selling them individually, but I suspect you might end up with an odd unit or something that just wouldn't sell by itself. Not that I know, I'm just speculating! 40k minis sell pretty well on e-bay, so I reckon split them up.

Though don't go silly with separations.
I would hate to see soemone put up say a Tacticla SM force with...
    one.
    model.
    per.
    damn.
    auction.

Well, you could sell them at whatever price you wanted-unprimed and stripped.

Or leave them as is with a slightly lower price.

The Warp: Star Trek, Star Wars, and basically every other science fiction series uses hyperspace. 40K, however, uses the Warp, which is the weird pink-purple alternate-reality that explains both interstellar travel and why there are ugly demons running around in sci-fi land. Comparing the two, hyperspace is like DSL, while the Warp is like trying to connect to the internetz on dial-up with a frayed wire in the small town of Atalaxupalpatinowahasibixo, Mexico.

What units are include in your army and how much are you selling it for? Let say your whole army.

I've already stripped them, but I'm not at home until saturday night so i'll be able to give a full inventory then.

If memory serves me correctly this is what i have:

    1x Avatar
    2x Farseers (both with spears)
    2x Wraith lords
    2x War walkers
    8x striking scorpions w/ exarch
    10x Fire dragons w/ 1 or 2 exarch's
    10x gaurdians w/ weapons platform
    9x rangers
    10x dire avengers
1x unidentified (shown in picture, with one of the worse paint jobs of them all, lol)

Pretty sure thats it, the numbers may be slightly off.

So if anyone can identify this character I'd be pretty grateful:

I don't know anything about previous iterations of models but i'd say that is the pheonix lord for the dire avengers. If anyone else has a suggestion i'd bow to better knowledge

Nope, that sure is Asurman alright. He's about a 10 dollar model used. You could get about 7-9 for that right now, I reckon.

    W/L/D (1v1/)
    Eldar- 22/2/2
    Necrons- 4/2/0

I'll probably be posting sometime soon about my ebay listing. Lol.

    Cheers again!
