Ugh. Seems like minecraft and my new computer don't mix well. It's jerky to some degree, and over-detects my clicks. In creative mode, it'll destroy 3 blocks/place 3 blocks and that makes minecraft almost impossible to use.

from what i understand you may need to go to the Task Manager by ctlr alt del go to processes and right clik on the java processes and send to top or something like that. worked for me at least.

No joy there. No improvement - I even set it to "Realtime" and caused all sorts of wonkiness with my system until I turned it off, but I'm still getting 6-9 fps

say i wanted to make a 40kforums exclusive minecraft creative server.

but theme would be a steampunkish airship type world using movecraft (from which i understand the developer of it is working on making a smoother more updated one for mc 1.2.5)

would anyone be interested? and if so how does one go about creating said server? if it comes down to i wouldnt mind spending a little cash for it.

Check out the getting started section on here: http://wiki.bukkit.org/Main_Page particularly the Tutorial: Start your own server section and the Tutorial: Installing Plugins sections. You'll probably want to rent a server from somewhere. Not sure exactly how to do this but @Andon or @Arateus might be able to help you there. I might be interested but probably not particularly for the airship thing I'm afraid. So long as I've got somewhere to build a random house then I'm happy and I have that now on Ara's server.

Basicaly, @Deception , you either need to have a computer with a nice bit of ram and what have you- try out this link to be sure. http://canihostaminecraftserver.com/
Also, you'll need to have an internet cable plugged into your machine for however long your server is up- you can't host wirelessly. Or just buy a nice cheap server from a provider.

So, reviving this thread a bit. I've been playing on a new server, recently, and we are looking for more people. Its quite possibly one of the friendliest servers I've ever been on, and the admin is awesome. There is a forum up, found here: http://www.safetyminecraft.com/

Basically, it caters to adults who like to build. We are using IC2 and RP2, and its amazing some of the projects people are working on. There is an engineer opposite of the map from me. There are 4 worlds- Nether and Safety, both of which are permanent and meant to look as attractive as possible; the End which is accessible through the normal means, but being turned into a private base eventually; and the mining world, which is exclusively meant for being destructive, strip mining, and whatever else you want to do. The worlds each have a 5k block diameter, and you can view the main world on the forums.

To join the server, you have to be whitelisted, and the application process is kind of a pain. Read the rules though, take some pictures of your builds, and you should be able to get on. We are looking for people 18 years and older, and are going for quality over quantity.
