    Reclusiarch Chaplains.

I recently had my first game using one of these guys, and was surprised to see that he was awesome. I ran him on foot with an honour guard, simply because i expected him to get killed within the first few turns. Instead he managed to munch through a squad of fragons and 2 dire avenger squads.

How do you guys kit out and use your Reclusiarch chappys?

They're basically old 4th Edition "power house" Chaplains. They were so good then that people rarely bothered with any other choices, hence why they were toned down for SMs. Black Templars still have them (for now), Dark Angels have a variant and thankfully Blood Angels have them back. As for equipment, what more do they need really? Terminator Armour if they're with Terminators, melta bombs if they're not. They have everything else they need: power weapon, good inv save, bolt pistol, frags and kraks. Keep 'em cheap and watch 'em kill stuff.

If the Reclusiarch is in your death company unit, I like to give him an infernus pistol. For his points I think its one of the better HQ choices available to blood angels.

    Yea they're awesome!

For 15 points more than an equivalent captain (with power weapon) but losing WS6 to WS5, you gain both of his special abilities, the fearless and re-rolling skills.

I think that is well worthwhile, but I would also try and capitalise on that BS5 as well by giving him an infernus pistol. He's the only model in my army I actually give one too, both because I know he will be close to the enemy, and because he's the most reliable model in my army to actually hit the damn target!

Infernus Pistol and/or melta bombs are the only worthwhile upgrade. Forget termie armor, you sacrifice an attack for protection, defense for offense? Hell no, offense all the way!

Good judgement comes from experience, alot of that comes from bad judgement
