Hmm... I need to start doing some Vassal games, seeing as I'm now not going to get the models anytime soon, it's probably the only way I can still feel connected to the hobby. Likewise, I don't know my way around it. Perhaps we could arrange a little tutorial game in Vassal or something? I think merely watching it would be great for some people.

Always good to have more members to the community.

Shadow and T0k0 are now on the team as well after their tutorial last night they've both completed a full game.

    The Vassal community be growing!

That we are Sneggy! You did an awesome job explaining everything. I'm now able to play if anyone wants to, but just keep in mind that I'm still a noob (in 40k and Vassal). XD

For someone new, such as myself, this definitely seems like the best way to get into Warhammer 40k, without the initial plunge to my bank account. So long as people who are completely new to 40k are welcome, I'll go ahead and get acquainted with Vassal.

I've played Blood Bowl and Chaos in the Old World. >_> Not the same thing, but I digress...

Now that I've got this thing more or less figured out, I'm up for a game most nights.

Also, might be good for @Gimmers to update the first post so people know the current version of the main Vassal engine is 3.1.18 and the current version of the actual 40k module is 5.4E.

I'm having issues getting the new module to load properly. I've followed the FAQ from Vassal, and it has not helped at all. It originally tries to save as a WinZip file, so I manually save it as a VMOD, as the FAQ suggests. This doesn't seem to fix the problem, though. Anyone have an idea as to what I need to do?

4 different module downloads, +vassal update x 3, 7 different exrtaction attempts, 2 different extraction tools and about 8 hours computer time and I have it working at last. Victory is sweet. Although my download file looks so messy I cringe every time I open it!
