The owner has been gaming far longer than I have and has a better tuned ear to how GW does its thing.

We talked about flyers. He and I share suspicions that there will be a plastic barracuda kit since many other armies are also seeing flyers added to their new codices. He also mentioned another Tau transport flyer; something of an Orca-Lite.

He did tell me not to get excited about the new Tau codex yet. He says GW is very good about forecasting their supply chain and they just replenished their stocks of old Tau codexes. That means if GW thinks they'll need the old one for a while, they don't plan on releasing the new one for some time.

I didn't think ask him about Chaos.

Up until just over a year ago I worked at my local FLGS and I can tell you that GW never told you anything about new releases until about 3 weeks before release date. They are not "very good at forecasting their supply chain" unless something has changed in the past year which I doubt.

But still, fingers crossed that Tau are upcoming though.

I am not convinced about ghost21 coming out as a fraud - I think its more to do with him having enough of it all. He was a well received, requested rumourer but got a lot of Flak. If you want out, what is the best way to do it, say you made it all up - of course he could of made it all up.

Still it is a bit annoying but hey ho.

I just wish we could get some decent info from GW about this book. Someone must be able to let something worthwhile out.

Black Templars and Sisters of Battle didn't get updated either. And the articles have disappeared from every army section in all three games. Because the paints used were out of date.

Some Tau released before the new Dex? Seems unlikely...

Fair enough, I don't follow Fantasy so I didn't know that.

Still seems odd though... we talking months or years?

Honestly, unless GW is starting a trend with the whole "New-models-to-throw-you-off-the-scent-HEY-look-just-kidding-here's-a-codex" thing, I'll stay a little skeptical about the pre-released models. I'm also hesitant to think that the articles coming down is heralding a book update, purely because of the SoB and BT pages. Granted, the Tau are a bit more popular than either of those armies, so it could mean something, but given that the folks at GW (and all the online rumour sites) have been dangling the Tau book over our heads for close to a year now, it probably isn't anything to get too excited about.

Comr4de, same here. From my local GW I heard that the people starting tau now are better of waiting a month or 3 for a huge surprise.

    Would be awesome though

    Ha, very true!

I wouldn't put too much faith in what the local staffers say.
