Id go with 2 meltas over a wolf standard anyday. id add at least 1 power fist in that group of wolf guard in case you need to hit something with a toughness 8 or a vehicle. Id also go with 4 missle launcher long fangs + sgt over the second vindicator, but thats a toss up. i like the option of splitting 2 missiles each hitting on a 3+ rather than a chance of scattering away 1 str 10 shot with a 24 inch range.

I did run a land raider crusader last night that lasted the whole 8 turns... it had 7 wolf guard in term arm, w/ wolf claws, and storm shields... with the wolf lord with saga of the warrior born, wolf claw, storm shield. lol .. lets say that unit alone did 1,000 points worth of damage... lol.. (Although the unit itself costed over 680pts. WHoo get your moneys worth!)

I took 2 vindicators again with 2 grey hunters w/ 2 melta guns plus captain with p.w. inside RHinos... Convinced on using melta guns from here on out.. unless facing i.g. or ork then bringing out the flamer...

And again 2 vindicators = 1 time firing the cannon with only 1 vindicator.. other one weapon destroyed shaken first turn.. I will definitely try the long fangs next time with launchers... i like the way you think Fingers..

Also i usually use Rhinos with my troops.. but i think i wanna try drop pods... anybody favor one or the other .??

A couple more ideas to throw at you. Build a Wolfguard Cyclone Missile launcher terminator and attach him to your Long Fangs. One Vindi will draw lots of fire and still be a threat, by getting rid of one and putting fingers long Fangs with 4 missile launchers you gain more versatility in longer range fire. I personally would put a frost blade on the Lord rather than the Wolf Claw. The extra +1 strength and rending comes in handy.

yep i use the cml term with my long fangs.
as far as drop pods go, i think wolf guard with lots of combi melta or a cml term can drop in and mess some vehicles up. if you can manage to position them well, you should get cover saves from return fire as well.

and you have to try the logan grimnar + long fang squad for a first turn drop down 5 x multi melta goodness with relentless. expensive, but damn fun.

That is correct, Frost weapons don't coffer Rending.
