There was a box set put out with the Codex, they don't advertise it on the website and what not. But a few local hobby shops I know of have a few sets left. It has a little bit of everything. a sample of each troop choice if im not mistaken. Bloodletters, Karanak, and hounds. all of the special characters and a herald of khorne on a juggernaught. I think the had a few more elites, cant be sure which ones and also a Soul Grinder. bout 250 bucks.

I remember there being a big Daemon box that came out when Daemons were first released. It was a massive box, that contained enough for a small (and I'd argue not particularly great) army.
Here they are:

I'm not sure of their price - but sections of the internet seem to suggest around £125 when they came out (so take into account some price hikes since then), and I'm not sure if there was a bigger boxset available. But they're the two that spring to mind -if someone else wants to evaluate their usefulness/worth...

They both come with Epidemius and a Beast of Nurgle...that means you've wasted any saving you would've gotten.
Yeah, don't buy that unless you want some free paper-weights.

^^^^Thank god someone knew what I was talking about, thank you lance. I was wondering about Epidimus. and I don't know anything about that beast of nurgle.
The only one I can find is the box with the soulgrinder in it, so I ask, at 250 buck is this box worth it, or should I just start from scratch and build from the ground up.

So I wanna get 3 bloodcrushers and run them with herald of Khorne on a juggernaught.
But after that I'm not sure where i wanna go with it.
What do their (Tzeench) shooting attacks do? are the flamers good at range, other then the template weapon?
I was also thinking about going for a Keeper of secrets/Fateweaver, or 2 Heralds of Tzeench. leaning more toward the greater deamon.
But ya, what about troops? 2 squads of bloodletters was my thinking. and some Fiends to get in quick, but how many come in a squad?
For Heavy I wanted a few Princes.
My buddy and I wanna go in on a army, any help would be appriciated. He is still undecided and may start GK instead, leaving me to the power of Chaos.

Flamers are okay at range, but you may as well just get Horrors for that. When it comes to a Lord of Change or 2 Heralds, it's 2 Heralds all the way. Fateweaver does, however, have something over the Lord of Change and that's lovely re-rollable saves, which are golden for Bloodcrushers (Fatecrusher is the build's name). Troops you'll definitely want to pack in as many as possible. In my opinion the best are Plaguebearers for objective capturing and Horrors for spamming Bolt of Tzeentch. Fiends are also a good choice, maybe between 3 and 5 per squad.

Nice tactica.
But you have forgotten 2 things in my opinion:
1) Never ever use a soulgrinder to go after SM or CSM dreads. It's fairly obvious why so I can understand why you didn't mention it but I've seen too many people do it.
2) We've spoken about this in the past as well, in a competitive list, there is something said for the Screamers. I've won battles by using my last 48 points for a small unit of screamers and just turbo-boosting them onto an objective in the last turn so they contest. They also wreak havoc on basilisks, medusas and hydras as people often forget to move these before going to shooting.
Admittedly there are more interesting choices in the army though.

i would like to say from my exp, that the boon of mutation although not always effective is incredibly fun if you spam it. i found my self taking more then not, that one time u force a librarion or a pain boy or boss pole to turn into a spawn and they can not do anything about it really changes the game. ive had times where ii spam it and do alot of suicide move in close and try to make as many spawns as possible then when it goes off its Oh!!! crap, thought the spawn isnt the best in our codex you cannot ignore them. so none kill point games works great. just my 2 cents
also great read btw.
one last thing is using pavane with breath of chaos really upsets opponets also.
