Plan is to paint it in Coteaz scheme - which is Dwarf bronze with shining gold highlights using deep tone as the shading.
Pick out main details like guns in boltgun metal and do the optics green. As for the FW doors, not sure yet.
So yeah - looking forward to seeing how this bad boy comes out.

Tiny update - I wont be doing the tank just yet until my new Airbrush arrives (yep ordered a basic one) and my Dad takes me through the basics (he is a long term user of airbrushes and has a vast library on using them and modelling in general).
In the mean time I am going to start painting tonight my other inquisitor and the 3 servo skulls.
I have also changed my list for what I am aiming to do - dropping the 2 Dreadknights for a Stormraven and another DCA and Crusader unit.

I now have the tools to paint my Redeemer :

Spinny turn table, a nice quiet air compressor and an Airbrush. I also have all the necessary thinners and cleaners and my dad gave me a Tamiya grey primer which he says is the best to use for vehicles.
So things are busy at the moment and a holiday is looming but I am hoping to get the redeemer primed in next few days and maybe even start getting the main colour down - Dwarf Bronze.

Last night I primed my Redeemer in Tamiya grey primer using the airbrush - I have to say its the best piece of hobby equipment I have ever used
I will try and get a picture up in next day or so with hopefully some of it started - probably practice on the underside of it to see how the Dwarf Bronze comes out.
Took me a bit of practive on some card to get the feel of the airbrush and set how much paint i like to come up (sensitivity of it) but it slowly became quite intuitive. However I say all of this and I have only applied a primer to date

Progress is progress CJB, and it's better to test it and get used to it rather than ruin a rather expensive model.

This week I am good-naturedly shaking my fist at: Baragash. For being unreasonably reasonable.

Cheaphammer 40p: 2000 points of Marines as cheap as possible.
It'll be alright on the Knight - a slow refreshing of my original Grey Knight army.

Small update - been a busy these past couple of weeks but I just got back from holiday at the weekend and looking forward to finally cracking on with painting the Redeemer. Raring to go this Wednesday but before then my Necrons have a 2k game tonight versus a mate - my Necrons have yet to lose this year.
Additionally, some of you may know it was fathers day last Sunday (not the one just gone but the one before) and this is what my little boy got me
It all helps !

So it has been about a couple of weeks since my failed first attempts at using an airbrush, but luckily I was testing on cardboard. Anyway, after being away and having a busy time at work I finally got back to painting and having learnt a few lessons got cracking spraying my Redeemer.
I am really pleased with the outcome - although its only got the base colours down, I have all the detailing, washing and highlighting to do. Also, since I only have a 0.3 needle at this time there is some overspray on the Boltgun metal (and I am a complete newbie), so tomorrow I am doing some touching up then moving on to the details.

I think Coteaz is rather pleased with the progress :

Please remember this is my first time on the airbrush, so I am finding my feet so I am not attempting anything fancy. I will be investing in low tac masking tape though to prevent overspray next time, but I will sort that out.

For a first try with it CJB, it's looking pretty damned nice. Can't wait to see it finished.

Looking great!
One tip I've heard is to hold a loose piece of cardboard over the part you don't want to spray, and moving it with the airbrush.
Much quicker than masking tape.

Thanks for the comments all !
It is a bit "in your face" bling, but I kinda wanted that - i figured if Coteaz came out of the shadows with a force, he would do it with an in your face, for the emperor and my word is final type bling way! The bronze will be the uniformed colour of the force, with the Stormshields from the Crusaders and all vehicles being the same - potentially the stormbolters on the Acolytes will be bronze as well. However, I will eventually have a spray of the anti-sheen matt varnish which will take the "shiny" edge off the vehicles.
Tonight I intend to tidy the oversprays up and then wash the boltgun metals with badab black, and start playing with the highlighting, making sure that burnished gold is an appropriate highlight for a vehicle (i used it on Coteaz, although a bit much on his chest, and it seems to be decent). After that look at the details, but I am not going to go crazy - getgood solid colours down, some details and highlights and leave it at that - as some have seen with my Tau, I like a fairly clean approach.
Pyro - my compressor (while free would be...) and airbrush would be no more than about £55 + plus the relevant supplies of thinners and cleaners. Obviously I dont know if £55 is a lot, ok, cheap to you but the compressor will last a long time and the airbrush will last if you clean it properly after use - so a good investment I think. It took me about 2.30hrs to get the Redeemer to that point, and that included my newbie element, so a skilled Airbrush user probably half the time.
