Some Advice Needed - Starting a WH Army.

At long last my Partner has decided to jump in and join the family playing 40k.

She has set her heart on a Witch Hunters army, but with the roumers flying around about the impending new WH/SOB release possibly later this year, Im dubious to rush out and start buying units for her, I don't want to go and buy stuff only to find later this year they are useless when and if things change.

So my question is, What units can I buy that are likely to remain useful after the update, that can get her up and running for now?

Im looking at the basics for now to create a playable army here at home, we wont be taking it out to any game stores etc for now until she has the rules under her belt properly.

Buy accordingly. I reckon that either one of those won't be overruled come their Codex. A Nun with a gun is a nun with a gun after all, and the vehicles are more than likely to stay the same.

I would love to know your secret... my wife has zero interest. She considers game nights her quiet time since the kids and I disappear into the basement for hours, only to emerge occasionally for snacks and sundries.

Metal SoB will soon be Plastic, presumably costing much less and looking better to boot, but... when will that occur?

It may be best to buy a small force, and then hold off for the Re-Release to get a larger one.

Most of the nuns with guns should remain legal but if their is a new release it will most likely be plastic and probably look even better than the current range.If your partner loves the current looks i would buy up as many as you can just cause once they are gone it will be tough to find them.

Even when plastic models come out, it will be like every other plastic army: the specialist (imagifer, palatine, cannoness, hvy wpn...) will be in blisters and expensives (and likely to be the same as old). Anyway, she could always use whatever she purchased before on ground of "traditionnal" armor.
