My question when it comes to female Space Marines is why bother? They're not going to look different in their armor (trust me, a fused ribcage, unnatural bone and muscle growth, wide shoulders, and little to no body fat does not make a female figure), you have to jump through hoops to justify it, there's already an army about chicks in power armor, and you'll get a shit ton of flak about the army no matter where you go.
In short, a female Space Marine is going to look nothing like what SoS (not OP SoS
) posted. Instead, put this is a suit of armor, but taller and wider and more grotesque:
Dr. Manfredel is wrong. That kind of thinking is never justified.

More grotesque?
Damn the physics of it.
I'll take this model over the VW Bus BCS posted any day.
Rule of cool, man. If it looks good, it's in. If you have an army of models like this one SoS posted, yes, you'll have a couple mouth breathers bitching about how they go against everything the entire universe stands for and you're a horrible, horrible person for flying in the face of established canon. But if the models look cool, if they're painted well, and if you're not a douche about it, you'll be getting a lot more compliments than complaints, and you can take that to the bank.

would be easy enough to say that the emperor intended there to be female marines, just make some fluff about the deleted legions having been designed to be women, then ofcourse men being in charge delete them from the records for some reason or other possibly thinking women astartes are heretical (maybe extra heretical who knows
) and your chapter have found a descendant / stasised / very old one of those.
Also could go with haemonculuses did it for a laugh

I think the idea of women space marines is interesting, but I dont think the existing chapters would approve, especially not the Ultramarines. I think if a Chapter began to meddle with its geneseed then its not going to end well. I mean, the Emperors Children started to alter their geneseed just before they fell to Chaos, and look at what happened. I think the Inquisition would destroy the Chapter before anything would become of it.

If you're the one spending money on the project to make Lady-deptus Astartes, I can't say you can't use them. It would be arsehole-ry of the highest standard.
1) Could just say the 11th Legion's Primarch was just Emp's daughter. Horus kicked up a fuss because she was "daddy's girl" and got everything she wanted while he was trying to make him proud reclaiming the galaxy. And if anyone says otherwise, just tell them the Horus Heresy series is just a cover story Emperina set up
2) Cursed Company/ renegades could always be a way to go too. Mutation as part of the gene seed being implemented during their transformation, or some kind of lulzy curse from Slaanesh or Tzeentch wanting to kick up a fuss could always work well.
Doomed.

If you've seen female body builders who use steroids you'll notice that they looks like beardless men with bikinis (sometimes they also have beards) I'd imagine that if a female marine were to exist it would be indistinguishable from a male marine, aside from the naughty bits. If there were to be a seductive marine it would be Slaanesh's doing.

A rookie's examination of the situation.
Definitely a topic of interest.
Time to weigh in on it using the Space Marines and Grey Knights Codexes as my sources of factual backup.
The gene-seed, though vitally important, isn't actually used to turn a candidate into a Space Marine. Going off 'The Making of a Space Marine' (pgs 10 and 11 of the Space Marine codex), we can see that aspirants must be children or very young at best for this to occur. That immediately shoots down the possibility of a female Gaurdswoman becoming a Space Marine, as past a certain age the chapters would stop looking completely.
This also ignores the clear fact of the Inquisition's existence. If a Chapter found such a woman, failure to disclose that information to the Inquisition would be to invite an investigation which could see that chapter labelled Excommunicate Traitoris, and be purged as a result. That's my second factor to the scenario posted at the start of this thread.
My thrid point against, again referencing the Space Marines codex, is a direct quote from the section 'The Making of a Space Marine'. "Gene-seed is a finite resource, for it is a direct delinament of the bio-manipulations that created the Emperor's Primarchs. In a very real sense, the blood of the Primarchs flows through each Space Marine's veins. It is without doubt a Chapter's single most valued possession, for it alone allows the continued recruitment and development of Battle-Brothers."
By that quotation alone, it becomes quite clear that any gene-seed, even if it were accounted for as not being from a Chaos Space Marine, would still be quite suspect and would bring an Inquisitorial inspection, anyway. I'm aware that all of these are points which have been covered, but they are used as part of my argument, so restating them is helpful for getting through my process.
Next up, if you can find a way to explain how a girl would go through her teenage years without anybody detecting that she has a Secondary hear,t or noticing that her blood is significantly mroe efficient than any normal person's, then by all means, launch it on me and I'll see how it goes from there.
The main problem I have with the entire thread is that gene-seed is, in and of itself, actually the building blocks for the various organs needed to create a Space Marine. I am aware that it says in the section I've been referencing that "Each gene-seed comprises a series of geneticallyy tailored organs that are carefully implanted into the recruit's body.", but therein lies my very point to the argument to date: these organs are Genetically tailored and then carefully implanted. There are really only a very few people who can do that, and those are the Apothecaries of a chapter and possibly Servitors, as I understand it at the time of writing. Such people are carefully and ceaselessly guarded and monitored, even among normal Chapters.
In furtherance to my point, no Apothecary is allowed to enter battle without a guard of some sort. Apothecaries are generally accompanied by a Command Squad or, in the case of the Grey Knights, guarded by one or mroe members of the Paladin order. again returning to 'The Making of a Space Marine', I must as my final point indicate the Progenoid organs. There are two organs, one implanted in the neck and the other in the chest cavity. They require, for a start, the presence of the other organs such as the Larraman's Organ and the Neuroglottis, in order to make the germ cells which in point of fact are teh genetic blueprints for those organs. The second thing is that Chaos Marines would most likely ignore or deliberately remove and destroy their Progenoids as part of their 'betrayal to the Fale Emperor', making stocks of gene-seed outside of the Imperium's control almost an impossibility.
This is a point reinforced by the writing on the Progenoids themselves in 'The Making of a Space Marine'. "Mature progenoid organs can be removed and new implants artificially cultured from them. This is the only way new implants can be created, so a Chapter depends upon its Space marines to create other Space Marines." Throwing that quote in, that points out and reinforces that, for the Chapter's own survival, it must account for ALL stocks of its gene-seed at all times. Any gene-seed that is unaccounted for is, by nature of its vital importance to the Chapter's existence, extensively searched for in a quite detailed and meticulous manner.
Now that I've potentially made a fool of msyelf, again, I must point out that while the difficulties are there, if you can bypass these obstacles, you'll have some damn near unassailable fluff written. best of luck to you.
