Necrons rising! Some pictures of an new Necron Lord

I promised some people today that I would upload some photos. They are a bit crappy, made with my phone, but I hope they show which scheme I use with my Necrons.

I apologize for the large pictures, but I already downsized them. For more pictures, head to the Album Gallery. There are also some pictures there of my Monolith, scarab, Immortal and Flayed One color scheme.

    Enjoy!

I dig the red color on him... good departure from the basic metal

Do you mean the larger pictures? I am afraid that the quality there is not good either, as I took the photos with my mobile phone... I am currently looking for a nice camera, so I will try to update this with better quality pictures.

Thanks, I also like the scheme. I got the idea from the Codex, where they show combinations between metalic and ceramic color styles. I was instandly hooked on the combination.

A question to everybody seeing this: Right now, I do not highlight the red parts of the armour before applying some gloss varnish for the shine. Do you guys think it would look better, or only slightly?

Actually despite it being a bit graining, you can see the detailing fine. That is a very nice colour scheme and very nicely painted. Well done there

I would also like to know what you guys think of my conversions. The following pictures are two converted necron warriors, now Immortal and Flayed One.

Okay, so I have been having a sort of diorama in mind for a long time. It will be a battle between a Eldar War Walker and a Necron construct.

However, I am completely new to painting Eldar, so please tell me how this War Walker looks...

The Walker is standing on one foot and surprised by whatever is attacking it. Hope you guys like it! :p

Really dig the marbled red, especially on the larger areas like the Monolith's plates and the Destroyer's ass. Just not a fan of the really glossy finish. Looks a lot like a Quickshade dip on the infantry units.

It is not Quickshade, but a wash of Black Ink.

I think they look really glossy, because they were photographed up close with a flash of light (cannot recall the english name now... ;p), but normally they tend to look less shiny...

    That'd be a flash.

Looks OK to me, but the shellac in the ink is making the armour plating really shiny. Some paint on matt varnish would knock that right back and help improve their look I think.

Aaarrggh.... so much to paint, so little time... Working on a MSc thesis, playing new video games, building a haloween costume and painting Necrons is difficult to combine...

I finally finished painting a Necron Tomb Stalker... but put together with the Eldar War Walker, I think it looks great! Now to finish the base...

The War Walker is attached with a magnet and can be taken of. I did this to make both a diorame and an usable mini for in games where I do not combat Eldar... I plan to disguise the magnet...

Please C&C guys, I really appreciate your input! For more pictures and more detailed pictures (warning: includes the dreaded slide bars of doom...) you can visit my album Enjoy!

    They look awesome together!
And I like the scheme you use for your 'crons, not the standard gray-boring-metal
