    Hi,
So I'm new to sisters of battle and I was just wondering what size Battle Sisters Squads I should have, I'm planning on having 3-5 squads in my army and I don't wan't an army with bad proportions. So please let me know what is the recommended squad size for a Battle Sisters squad. Thanks!

With the new codex, it'll probably take some playing around to get that figured out.

What else are you including? At what points cost?
We really need to know what sort of army list you're making to advise you on anything.

I'm going to have a Canoness as my HQ, a Sister Repentias squad and a Celestian squad as my elites, three Rhinos, a Seraphim squad as my fast attack, and two Penitent engines as my heavy support. Done. I can't figure out the points until the end of the month, but that's what I have planned.

10 is likely a good bet, in a Transport. It's how many other squads seem to roll these days.

This week I am good-naturedly shaking my fist at: Baragash. For being unreasonably reasonable.
    Sex, drugs and pointy ears.
Cheaphammer 40p: 2000 points of Marines as cheap as possible.
It'll be alright on the Knight - a slow refreshing of my original Grey Knight army.
Cordova: In my head you're eight foot tall, always carry an officer's sabre, and speak like Theoden at the battle of Pelennor Fields.

Grey Knights don't go to heaven: they go to hell and regroup.

With the old faith point system it was best to max out at around 8 lady squads, however with the way the "new" "codex" looks, you might as well take full 10 lady squads cause the faith points aren't going to matter as much. Reminds me of second, when we didn't even have faith points. I would say no matter what the more bodies and guns you have the better off you are going to be. Even in a full mechanized army you are going to want a good lot of guns.

If you are running a mech list though consider several 6 lady squads to run with your immolators.

don't you NEED to take a full 10 in a standard squad? Pretty sure you do.

    Yeah, this.

The 8 sweet spot for old Faith and 6 body limit for immolators is still applicable to other squads, but I don't think it was the intended subject of the thread.

As far as BSS, I don't see a reason to take more than 10 unless for some reason, you've filled up on troop slots and want to pad out your survivability/points more. It's worth noting that there's no longer anything stopping you from taking 20 sister squads with a dedicated rhino (or Immolator!); the WH codex had a clause for all dedicated transport options that indicated the squad must fit in order to take one, while the new WD codex lacks any such language. So, if you wanted, you could bubble wrap, or run the tanks separately, or shadow the foot squad until you took enough casualties to hop in.

Even if one of those options was attractive to you, though, I doubt they'll ever be attractive enough to pass up additional special weapons by adding squads. So, like I said, going over 10 only seems relevant if you've filled your FOC.

Indeed the old ways have changed, no longer can you have your cake and eat it too, now the Sisters of battle are even more expensive for thier abilities and almost always a pure footslog army which is really good at holding objectives with 10 - 20 ladies with some really awesome firpower
