1000pts Tomb Kings, Help!
Hey.
Im new to Warhammer (altho I played 40k back in 3rd edition) and want to start a Tomb Kings army. Ive glanced at the rulebook but dont know all the rules yet. I have the TK army book and this is what I thought of starting out with.
Lich Priest Lvl 4, Enkhills Kanopy
Tomb Prince, GW
15 Skeleton Archers, Standard
35 Skeletons Standard
3 Chariots
5 Skeleton Archer Horsemen
Hierotitan
The idee is to have the Lich Priest with the archers casting augmentations and hexes, and that vortex spell with backup from the hierotitan (minimizing the need of dice used for each spell so I dont get a misscast).
The Prince would go with the skeletons and give them that WS bonus, with the Chariots and the Hierotitan at the flanks.
The Hierotitan could also be used to get that Lore Of Death spell to assasinate some characters early (Ld 8 better than a lvl 1/2 Lich Ld 7).
Im least shore of the skeleton archer horsemen, I thought they would go for warmachines.
My main opponent is a high elf player who atleast has a chariot, bolt thrower, spearmen, archers, wizard and a melee hero + some other stuff I dont know of. The Enkhlis Kanopy is to protect me from some High Elf spell that causes wounds every round to all models in a unit (wich would be a quick death to my skeletons).
I also will play a wood elf player with some archers, horsemen, small trees, wizard and a hero + other stuff.
Any help from anyone who has played the game would be welcomed.
Cheers.

will come back to this after work but in a nutshell - less magic, more skeletons. it is only 1000pts a lvl 4 is misplaced IMHO. consider dropping the hierotitan for perhaps a warsphinx, screaming skull catalpult or chariots.

i could be wrong, but don't lich priests automatically know the four spells? I only leafed through a TK book.

Nope.
I agree with Pox, just have a L2 Priest with the Earthing Rod as your Hierophant. The points saved here could boost the Chariots a little.
I would swap the Hierotitan for a Catapult or 2 Catapults as you don't really have a way to damage hard targets otherwise.

I agree that the lvl4 should be replaced by a lvl2 with the earthing rod. Much more point efficient at 1k. Use the points to bump up the Chariots. I'd actually swap the Titan for a casket instead of a catapult. Gives you dice then you roll that winds of magic roll, not a whole lot of armies can have a high Ld general and a BSB at 1k, and it's pretty good at killing monsters and small units.
GW does not hate non-Space Marine armies. They just don't give a FAQ.
This song is totally the Battle of Prospero:
LanceWarrior: "1st rule of 40k forums rule-lawyering: Don't argue with Baragash"
Yahtzee: "It's like owning a giant swiss-army knife with 500 different little blades and one folds out into a mini-gun. There is no reason to use anything else."
