Norse Style Chaos Army

A little while ago I started putting together a Norse army based on the Chaos army list.

I plan to have the bulk of the army as Chaos warrior and marauders as the models seem to fit well with the theme.

I am converting some of the models to look more norsy

Any ideas welcome

GS chainmail on all the marauders to give them a more nordic look(just pay the points for light armor for WYSIWYG) I will look around for a tutorial on that, saw one once and it isn't all that difficult. As for warriors use lots of fur/leather bits and have them use nordic iconography instead of chaos symbols.

Well to be 100% correct the basic gear a viking went into battle with was his chain mail hauberk, spear, axe, sword, and shield. Warlords and the chiefs usually had some minor pieces of plate armor and sometimes an extra spear. Went at the homestead the warriors usually did not wear armor but did wear lots of fur cloaks and leather clothing.

But yes they do look very nordic as is.

I missed this thread til now, but you should check the norse Blood Bowl team. Essentially the frozen northlands are where the WoC come from...and they are incredibly norse both in fluff and appearance.
