    Creating a Greater Daemon

Hey all, so I've fallen in love with the Chaos Daemons (still waiting for my codex to get here, but it's been ordered) I have a unit of Daemonettes so far, but what I'm wondering is do you think I could use a Sepurchral Stalker or two to make some Greater Daemons? They're plastic Tomb Kings that are basically giant snakes. They look awesome. I was thinking of making one into a Great Unclean One (making more of a slug type model) and a Keeper of Secrets. They will be converted and for $54 for two Greater Daemons it seems like it would be a heck of a deal!

The only problem you'd run into is size issues, Greater Daemons tend to be larger than those models are.

Ah, darn, was wondering about that. Thanks all. About how big are Greater Daemons?

They average out at being about the size of a Deff Dread - so between a Dreadnought and a Dreadknight. I believe the Bloodthirster and Lord of Change reach Dreadknight height thanks to their wings.

OK, thanks guys. Would the Stalkers I mentioned before be more Daemon Prince size or are they cavalry sized models? I can't really tell from the pictures.

I think they'd be fine for a demon prince, a little short maybe, but not by much. They'd certainly be thin for a demon prince, so I'd suggest the Mark of Slaanesh.

They're cavalry sized models. I personally wouldn't be happy using them as Daemon Princes. Daemon Princes aren't that much smaller than Greater Daemons.

Probably true. They'd make better Mounts than anything. Not sure if the Daemon Codex has anything like that though.

They'd be perfect for Seekers or Hounds.

Stalkers are fine for DPs IMO. I don't think you can get them on smaller than a 60mm round base (they use 50x100mm for WHF) so it restricts your options in terms of which Daemonic Cavalry you could use them as, Bloodcrushers would be the best fit.

I grabbed a box of the Stalkers and with the proper conversions I can definitely pass one off as at least a DP. I'll try to get some pics up when the model is completed (I only started on it last night) and see what you all think.
