A small thing I'm worrying about is legions only having like 1-2, perhaps 3 choices per FoC section, because otherwise the codex will get too big. This would severely limit any legion army, since none of them can get the attention a whole codex provides (like BA, SW, BT, DA), while they are at least as interesting as the loyalist legions.

i am excited about legions, but i can see there being a huge "can i have this unit with these?" unfluffy op bezerkers and plague marine combos, or something of the sort. i just wish they'd put the time and money into individual codices for the main for legions of the gods (world eaters, emperors children etc etc) and have a main book for the rest with the individual special rules in. but no, its cool, its only chaos, not one of the biggest threats to the imperium and certainly not a race they can be bothered to put to much effort in to.

Just a quick release date tidbit before things fizzle out completely. It is from an excellent source (standard caveats apply of course, as nothing is ever certain). I've been told that Chaos is about six months from release, which is approximately late June / July, not sure if / how this is going to affect the release of 6th Edition.
I've been sitting on this one for about a week so if it's common knowledge, please ignore.
OT: Tau is being worked on, but further out than people think

That's not a real rumor...what IS a real rumor is the existence of a Legions codex...which WOULD include all of those legions

Yeah...but imagine adding in all the extra codices to the update cycle. Best to get them in one book that allows for changes of rules based on legion choice (similar to 4/5th ed marines)

They make lots of $$$ anyway.
Chaos Legions: Emperor's Children, Iron Warriors, Night Lords, World Eaters, Death Guard, Thousand Sons, Black Legion, Word Bearers, and Alpha Legion.
Chaos Renegades: The Fallen, Red Corsairs, and Lost and the Damned (think IG, but more Chaos-y), possibly some Dark Mechanicus.
Personally, I'd love to see someone make a Dornian Heresy codex. Nurgle Blood Angels. Khornate Space Wolves. Tau-flavored Ultramarines. But that's a topic for another thread.

I wonder if we get a Chaos Legions Codex if we will get Imperial Space Marine treatment so Special Characters for each legion and Legion themed box sets like the Space Wolves etc.
I have to admit I love my Tau but Nightlords hold a special place in the darker parts of my heart

more than likely get an 'upgrade' sprue, or direct only stuff. can't see everything released in one ether, as they tend to do "2nd waves" nowadays, which is pretty bloody annoying TERVIGON....hint hint.
i would like to see plastic obliterators, and some more tanks which are chaos only, like the defiler.

the HQ's are fine, considering everyone just uses daemon princes nowadays.
would be nice if they gave us something of substance and actual thought rather than just new rules for old models. things that need changing such as the very antiquated khorne bezerkers, plastic oblits, decent options other than termies for elites selections, and among other things only 2 real selections for the fast attack slot, both of which are spacemarine rules just with spikes on, i believe will be changed and edited to fix it.
on another point, the termie bits fit the bill for blessgiver and deathscreamer (the deamon weapon names for the lords in the current CSM codex.) also the shoulder pads depicted in the photo look the same as the lord sprue ones, so we could see this as an upgrade kit for plastic termie lords with an inevitable price hike.....or not at all :p

Plus some stuff on upcoming Necron/Nid waves.Concerning Chaos:
the book is done and almost at the printers
an Iron Warriors character (?) has been seen, with a huge servo harness
possible new Obliterators (plastic or Finecast?)
painted versions of all 4 cult terminators have been sighted - could be conversions though
plastic Plaguebearers on round bases have been sighted

Darnok recently brought some rumors to the table regarding Chaos, saying the codex is “done and almost at the printers” whatever that means.
He also spoke of a few miniatures we can expect to see, including an Iron Warriors character with servo harness, possible new Obliterators, and plastic Plaguebearers on round bases. What with 75hastings69's recent denial of Plaguebearers in the starter set, it is possible these are a full plastic kit.
Darnok also said that painted versions of all four Cult Terminators have been sighted, but said they could have been conversions. These could have been made with the sprues other rumours have mentioned.
theDarkGeneral told us new Chaos Bikes and the New Dread have been spotted by GW Memphis staff, who claim these plastic kits have lots of bits.
They also apparently have a pdf of some sort and say it "screams death and carnage"
The bikes were confirmed as being new, not recut, and the Dread was described as a "crazy spikey combat dread"
theDarkGeneral also implied that there may be an additional heavy weapon upgrade for Chaos units, but was supposedly told it's not a Plasma Cannon
ant1clock told us his local GW told his that the Thousand Sons kit is no longer available because they are moving to Finecast. It is unclear if this means a new, all Finecast kit, or if the metal components will move to FC.
