Templar in February?

Who's up for a new Templars codex?

From a blog post at BoK, prodigalson said, "...the rumor from Ghost21 is that BT’s are going to be first, then tau."

So...

- November gets 'Cronned

- December off with nothing released (maybe a PDF of the WD SoB pages?)

- January should be a WFB release

... does that leave February for a new Black Templar book and models?

(followed by Tau in April, Legions and 6ED over summer?)

Makes sense. All of 5th Edition has been alternating between power armored troops for one release and weaker saves for the next:

Space Marines
Imperial Guard
Space Wolves
Tyranids
Blood Angels
Dark Eldar
Grey Knights
Necrons

Another 3+ save army would fit the pattern, be it Black Templars, Dark Angels, or one of the two rumored Chaos books.

That's a lot of half baked assumptions there, Both tau and Necrons are mixed armor save armies, Necrons are very nearly a 3+ army themselves, and tau are really half and half.

And Orks have a 2+ save unit. Doesn't make them Terminators. With the new Necrons Codex, the basic and most common Troops choice (Necron Warriors) has a 4+ save. Yes, Immortals and Deathmarks have a stronger 3+ save, but their points costs and low maximum unit size makes it unlikely that they will be the default Troops choice.

MAJORITY of orks are 6+ though. there is no majority save for tau. Necrons are almost a 3+ except for one or two units, so by your own logic, necrons are a 3+ army. I'm sorry but the armor save patter fails the logic test

This, THAT makes more sense. except the Space marine/imperial guard. So There really is no basic pattern, they're going off what will sell. we've had NO rumors on BT, and lots on tau, so that leads me to believe this is just someone wishlisting.

Wait imperial guard has a couple 3+ saves does that make them spehss mehreens?

anyway i wouldnt be surprised. they seem to be one of the lowest updated armys (i think...) next to dark angels, but i doubt it would be DA.

how soon to expect pics and info?

I think the strength of any Black Templar rumors comes from the fact that they are the default "good guys" in the upcoming 40k MMO.

I haven't seen anything new on a marine codex in months before this. At the time DA were the suspected next release but that was in the midst of the 6ED box set rumor explosion.

Cant see it being any time soon to be fair, I like the Templar's and would do mine as Knights Templar But I cant imagine they are popular enough over other old codices to be redone anytime soon.

We're running out of old Codices tho! DA, BT, Tau, Eldar....? Deamons? I can see one last 5th Dex but I think anything brand new I.e. Legions will be in 6th.

Dark angels I can see, BT no, They might be after tau but there's been next to no rumors about them compared to tau. Don't forget eldar, tau, daemons, BT aren't that popular, we'll probably see them some time right before dark Millennium comes out. Late 2012. Anything else is wishlisting. The order of codex's is based on what sells more and that'll sell more, not to mention tau have had WAY more chatter in the pipes.

Huh, I thought of doing a knights templar army using the Grey knights book though.
