    From Warseer:

Some comment about Black Templars being next in line "due to them sitting done for nearly 8 months". Makes sense in a way that, if they are pushing for a faster second wave for Necrons, another Space Marine chapter would take up fewer resources on the whole mold/model making process.

    Also:

Here's what current rumours point at (apparently)

    Basically;

    Eldar
    6th Edition
    Marines
    CSM
    BT or Tau

Eldar being next makes sense as there was mention of some of the kits designs when DE came out a year ago. However the rest of it goes against pretty much everything that's been rumoured for a while. Also, as one of the comments points out, Phil Kelly has practically said he's not doing Eldar...and I find it lulzy that "No 5th Edition codex will be updated in 6th" What, so after DA, we have 3 years of no releases? Suuuure.

    Eldars team? *kersplodes*

Ahem ... I hope so, definitely. But ... the recent trend of Marine/Xenos/Marine/Xenos wouldn't apply, so expectations would be that a Marine book would be next (undoubtedly to much cries of " More Marines, yay, zomg teh is borken".

On the BoLS link, point 5; "Tau and BT will get a release soon after CSM; other races updated in 5th will not be updated in 6th as their rules (at least from Guard onwards) are allready suited for 6th."

So Tyranids are suited for 6th? They're just about capable in 5th, so if that's a headsup to what the rules might be, I dread to think.

Thing is, if you look at the "3M principle" (Marines Make Money), dashing out a Templar or Dark Angel Codex wouldn't be that challenging and the model range is already mostly there. Doing either of these soon(ish) would be beneficial. However, you can't please all the people all the time ...

Interesting that there's no mention of Daemons on that list. So if they're sticking with their own book or getting re-amalgamated back into any Legions book is still up in the air. If they did, they'd have to get them exactly right.

Interesting... though only 6ED in summer fits in with most of the pulp pushed out by the rumor mill.

    My thoughts:

    1. Kelly on Eldar? Wouldn't that be a best kept secret? Even from Phil himself?

    2. Fits

    3. Everything has pointed to a major revision in the "starter set" and I doubt they would try to resurrect 'Crons for it after almost a year of them being released? It would make more sense to push some of the newer armies... plus we've heard that it won't be Ultras, so I would expect DA or BT plus a recent xeno/renegade release.

I suspect the inclusion of Damnos in a rumor is based only on the fact that there is a ton of 'Cron buzz right now.

    4. CSM won't be getting an update... but revised to Legions. Also, there should be at least one, if not two Imperial releases next year prior to 6ED

    5. I would expect both Tau and BT prior to 6ED / Legions. And no DA? Seriously? I hardly see that fitting anything. What other Imperial codex will get updated next year then? Or will we simply be treated to multiple "next waves" and WD/PDF flubdates?

    But who knows, right?

My personal prediction is Templars coming before 6th Ed, with Legions following closely. The starter set would be Templars v Chaos.

Orks were just before 5th, and Marines just afterwards, and they were both in the Starter Set - Just putting it out there.

So you think two releases before 6th? Popular opinion is heavily Tau next.

I think two releases if you're lucky, but I'm putting my money on Templars over Tau, almost purely because of the Imperial/Xenos trend, and secondly because Tau v Chaos wouldn't be much of a cash cow for GW methinks.

No it doesn't. Tau aren't Imperial, and the starter set needs at least 1 Imperial.

Unless the rumors that 6th edition will shift focus away from Imperial forces in favor of the expanding reach of Chaos are true.

I think DA or BT are both decent possibilities... the books will be the hardest part, I think. Since there are already kits for upgrading marines to either one there would be fewer models needed. Metals to finecast, update some characters and then stick with upgrade sprues?

But that might make too much sense for GW?

After that I expect Tau... which would leave either BT or DA (whichever did not get done in FEB) to follow after, or along side Legions... and be included in the new started edition(s).

I personally am hoping for the army starter sets that have been rumored... get a 1000 point army, a Finecast IC and a couple of small ruins in each box. Pick Imperial (DA/BT) or chaos (Legions).

Each box with templates, dice and 6ED rule book... codex would be nice too but that may be asking way too much.

Not only would this be a terrific way to start the game or update an army... it also lends itself to a new style of "Megaforce" set where they could feasibly release several different armies via starter set.

Again, might make too much sense...

    http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2011/...dex-order.html

The new one up on BOLS makes MUCH more sense for the new schedule.

    Eldar
    6th
    CSM
    Tau
    BT

can't say I'm happy about tau being moved back but if the box set is CSM and eldar this makes much more business sense (though BOLS goes on to say that SM are in the new starter set, so maybe, maybe not). And the new timeline puts BT very close to the release of the 40k MMORPG which is very much expected.

    as for DA

DA will probably not be updated anytime soon, because its not a popular army and GW does not want to waste money updating one or more armies that almost no one plays with a separate dex.
Though I think DA are more popular than BT, but BT will be getting love due to the MMORPG.

Everything I've read and been told (GW) is that it looks heavily like BT first then Tau for 40K releases in 2012. Eldar as first codex after release of 6th ed.

But we shall see. I take everything from BoLS with a hefty bag of salt.
