    spore Q

Apologies if this has already been asked and answered but how many warriors can the spores hold? I know it says 20 infantry or one mc but seems to me that 20 warriors would fill up more space than a fex for example. Also the spores has 3 attacks and is classified as an MC so if he was assaulted by say a dread and somehow survives he would get str6+2d6 for armour pen and ignores armour saves?

    Edit:

Just wondered if the above was true as I was pondering this kind of list

    Prime with boneswords and talons-95

15 gants with devs in spores-190

6 warriors with deathspitters and talons and adrenal glands in spores-280

    Tervigon with catalyst-175

    20 hormogaunts with toxin-160

    20 hormogaunts with toxin-160

    3 hive guard-150

    2 zoans in spore-160

    25 gargoyles with toxin-175

    25 gargoyles with toxin-175

    Tervigon prime-240

Comes to 1960 I think. Prime with warriors to spam str 5 shots and then hopefully enough wounds there to survive a round before charging into combat and zoans spore near any pesky high av tanks ( punishers in particular). Also thinking that 50 goyles and 40 hormos will attract enough fire power for fear of mass poisened attacks in combat

the main limit to the number of warriors a mycetic spore could hold is the cap for a warriors brood size, so it can only take 9 warriors.
also the nid FAQ shafted putting a prime into a spore which in turn kinda defeats putting warriors into one. (pg2 of the FAQ, 5th question under the pic of rippers eating that guardsman)
and yes, it's a S6 monstrous creature, so +2d6 on armour pen vs vehicles / ignores armor saves on non-vehicles
-spores usually get to attack in close combat, they come with lash whips, so whatever assaults them becomes Initiative 1 (well everyone in base contact with the spore)

    addon:
and with no prime in the warriors' spore, I'd say ditch the spore and add another warrior to the brood and just walk them across the table.
it's a nice list, I don't really like the solo- trygon, but you have enough massed swarms to make your opponent pay for picking the trygon out early.

while I don't like the trygon prime, I wouldn't say pull it from the list. you'd be running pretty thin on synapse with only the tervgon and warriors on the table (zoanies then dropping down later in spore)
so the trygon prime gives you another synapse source which can keep up with the gargoyles and hormagaunts.. at least while it's alive. hopefully you overwhelm your opponent in models to force some tactical errors which could keep the trygon alive a little longer. or you could risk the tryon in reserves. it would stretch your starting synapse but by the time the trygon does show up all of your swarms should be engaged with any heavy weapons that could shoot down the trygon.

Agreed that the spread synapse is better so trygon stays. Instead of extra warrior would dropping goyles down to a 22/21 sized unit and taking those points plus the 40 I'm under and taking the doom in a spores be viable?

doom would be fun, gives you another unit that causes lots of anarchy as well as possibly anti-tank.
    go for it
