    So are they boltgun metal, badab black with highlight of Chainmail or Boltgun ?

    Maybe I wash heavier with badab black, sorry, it did not jump out at me but yes I see it now.

    Looks good as a group Pyro. To me the turquoise looks a little bit flat. would suggest a wash or highlight on the immortals. The other necrons came out great with it though.

    Nice to see an army coming together so swiftly from you.
    I look forward to destroying it.

    Looking good! Maybe wash the blue parts with asurmen blue to add some depth to them, but nice work!

    Keep 'em coming.

    Spoiler

    Cheaphammer 40p: 2000 points of Marines as cheap as possible.
    It'll be alright on the Knight - a slow refreshing of my original Grey Knight army.

    All right, I bought the last 3 boxes I needed for my 1,500pt list ready for the Forum Meet in April. I wanted to get them out the way so I'd have plenty of time to get them painted up. I got 2 boxes of Lychguard and a box of Immortals. The Immortals are more of the same, but I wanted to show off the kit-bashing I've done for my Lychguard, Crypteks and Lords.

    WARNING: There will be mould lines. I don't care.

    First the Lychguard. I based these on the Lychguard to the left of the Necron Codex cover, so largely without all those silly frilly/Egyptian bits. Swords and Shields were Swords and Shields, but I used the Praetorian heads, and kept the loincloths on the sprues...

    And a closer look;

    Next up we have the Necron Lords. With all those spare Warscythes, Lychguard heads and loincloths, it was actually fairly easy. The only problem is that they largely look like GWs Lychguard. Hopefully it should be fairly obvious when they're in a squad of Immortals what they are though.
    First is my favourite Lord. The Resurrection Orb is from the Overlord in my second Annihilation Barge;

    And here's him with his peers;

    Lastly are the Crypteks. Warrior bodies, Deathmark heads, Praetorian Rod of the Covenants, Lychguard loincloths. I think it worked out fairly well;

    And then here's my favourite of them. Yes I had noticed the mould line. As I said, I don't care. It'll be less visible once he's painted;

    So that's my wonderful kit-bashes. I was too proud of them to paint them up to show first, so that's them in their WIP. Sorry that the Cryptek pictures don't really show them too well, but expect painted pictures over the next couple of months. Hopefully then the details will be more visible.

    Currently on the painting agenda;
    1 Annihilation Barge
    5 Immortals
    7 Lychguard
    3 Lords
    4 Crypteks
    2 Ghost Arks (these probably won't get painted for a VERY long time)

    Necrons
    Dark Eldar
    Death Guard
    Nurgle Daemons
    Traitor Guard

    I spy with my little eye ...

    That is one set of imposing mo-fos indeed. Nice mix and matches too. They're different, but not oddly so. I like.

    I don't think you really needed to spy it. I mean it's fairly obvious. I don't know why, but the box I used for all the conversions was wrought in mould lines, which is why most the Lychguard are fine, but the Crypteks are covered in them. Slapping some paint on will cure it enough for me.

    So thanks to @Thatfatguy , I found some Heavy Destroyers on eBay. Managed to get them 3 for Ł25 including P&P, which is a Ł20 saving from buying them new from GW. They were already painted, and in reasonably good nick. All I had to do was change the colours of a few things to suit my scheme, and drill the mounting holes a bit to make them more stable;

    Can't beat a good bargain now and then.

    Nice work too. At least they didn't need a full strip and rebuild like most of the ebay stuff. Good job.

    Nicely done Pyro - if only Heavy D's were as such a bargain in gaming terms as these were to buy

    On that we agree to disagree. They fill a void in my army that can't really be filled any other way. Harbringers of Destruction are nice, but more often than not they require a unit to be put into, and I'd rather have Lords dotted about.

    Well, in larger games when points are plentiful, having Crypteks, Lords and Heavy Destroyers will be easy enough, and I reckon will be the "must have" combo.

    Oh don't worry, my 2,000pt list that I've settled on has literally everything I want in a list; Immortals, Lords, Crypteks, Ghost Arks, Annihilation Barges, Heavy Destroyers, Tomb Spyders, Scarabs. Oh I'm so excited about it, and all I need are 3 Tomb Spyders...which I'm waiting for GW to re-release...
