Lootas
So recently I have been having trouble with the amount of fire I have been recieving from the Nids I play regularly, but more then that its the big blasts that they have been putting all over my Horde. Fielding 2 Harpies, 2 squads of Biovore, The Tyrannofex, 3 Zoans, and 6 Hive Guard.
My Wagons and Trukks were popped by the 2nd turn, 3 wagons and 1 trukk. The boyz inside took HEAVY casualties as soon as they hit the field and just couldn't recover after that.
Now I quit using Lootas for a long time (not sure why now) but I threw them in an army for three reasons. 1. they are very cheap 2. they provide both volume and high strength fire and 3. at 48" this thing is like an Ork Las Cannon.
I picked up 2 squads of 5 and deployed them in buildings large enough to fire all 5 from.
He ignored them, sending the random Ordinace their way to try to take out the building every now and then but the whole game they were taking heavy tolls. I picked them up to hunt harpies and by the end of the game they had gunned down 14 Hormagants, 8 Genestelers, 1 Harpy, 3 Biovore and 4 Warriors.
I still lost all but 1 of my wagons, but the one that made it krumpt with the rolla before the boyz got out to put the end to the bugs objective.
I think I will need to pick up a few more of these Lootas. Thats my rant on that anyway, how is everyone elses holiday gaming coming?
Armageddon will fall. Waaaaaaaaagh!

Buuuuuuuuuuuurna boys! Just because!
And yes, lootas are great though I prefer to take them in larger units of 10 models. If you roll a 1 on no. of shots, five models aren't going to do much damage with BS 2.

I was rollin hot! 3 out of 5 more often then not hit, and with a 2/3+ to wound it wasn't hard to find the mark. my thing about the larger squads was findind a building large enough to house them, I didn't want to leave them in area terrain to eat a few wounds then break.

Loves me some burnas, I fell off using lootas for a while, I doubt I will ever not use my burnas.
As for the tank bustas, I NEVER do well with them. So much like the Lootas, I have quit using them. But, lesson learned with the lootas, I will give them a second chance.
Armageddon will fall. Waaaaaaaaagh!

Caps lock: Cruise control for cool.
Buy one box of Kanz. Three to a box. If you like them, buy more. If you don't like them, use the bits for conversions.
And most people don't field Stormboyz. I like them against shooty units in cover, led by a Nob with a big choppa. Plus the models are cool as hell. Also remember you don't have to use the rokkit packs all the time. Only when you need an extra boost to make up for their lack of a Waagh!
