Mycetic Spore
I don't even play Tyranids, however I seem to a more gifted hobbyist than my friend who does. I was wondering what other Tyranid players thought of what I did.
Nothing in the picture for scale purpose, but it is 6 inches tall and wide enough for a carnifex to hide behind.
The spines are 1/4 inch wood dowel. The plates are grey stuff. And the whole thing is supported on a blue craft Easter Egg.
How does this fit your vision of what a Mycetic Spore might look like?

I think it's pretty freakin sweet! That's almost exactly what I think it should look like.
Purely optional suggestion: Just because I think you're capable, the Mycetic Spores have lashwhips. I kind of imagine them trailing from the top. Don't know if you want to experiment with those?

Thank you for your opinions, I know that it has lash whips and it can have other weapons, if I am not mistaken.
I was also thinking that the weapons should come out of the top.
I was just having some difficulty with what they might look like. I was leaning toward modelling them to like the whips that the Tyrant can carry, just a bit more twisted and springy, so that it could shoot out and hit stuff.
Thoughts...

I'm not fond of the solid egg shaped mycetic spores, but I have to admit that one is looking awesome.
It is hand's down the best looking 'egg' style spore pod I've seen sofar (and its not even finished yet lol )
my suggestion, if you don't mount it upright with tentacles coming out of the top..
is mount it tilted like you have in your photo and scuplt a mouth-like opening at the bottom of the egg (which would make it look alot like the picture in the codex) then have the tentacles/guns coming from the mouth

Tyranid 0/0/0 (updating)

Probly the best two I've seen. Is one made from a seashell. Far too realistic almost too creepy to feild. And the bloomed/ impacted flower looking. (take an egg, fry it, and have random tenticals& feelers coming out of the yoke)

@Forest
I like the second one, the not-shell one. Good looking tentacles there.

I like the shell one most because It's creePy looking, That can be a very big psychological factor. >
. If your going to try a heavy pod army I'd take both, the multiple shells to "terrorize the feild, probly nothing more then a fex or zoans(DoM), the bloomed ones are better for your devgaunts and such as it has more base area to use. Plus using more varieties will add color to the feild.

That's the beauty of it lol. That's why I went 3 ygmarl broods in a triangle list once. Used a POM &gargoyles as bait lured them inbeteeen the 3 structures and popped out lol my opponents actualy yelled out "oh god!". Loud enough to get everyones attention. Obviously I turned my flyers around and assaulted the unit. Lost but the reaction was worth it. Sbd that's when I learned never to assault terminators in multiple groups if one is breakable.
