broadsides
i know broadsides are one of our best units, but they are so dang expensive, im just starting tau and dont want to wait for the update, so i was thinking of buyng sniper drones for extra marker lights thinking that the broadsides will be one of the models updated.
should i just suck it up and buy the broads or think sniper drone teams and 2 hammerheads would work ok for now?

a devil fish lol... just ordered 6 xv8s a hammer head, a commander, piranha, and im goiing to buy the
battle box probably this week. so that will add another commander, 12 kroot, 12 warrior, stealth team and another fish
i really like the sniper teams i just know how much the broadsides help.
my general list i am going for is 2 commanders, 2 xv8 units, body guard, one stealth unit with marker drones, two hammer heads and then broadsides or 3 sniper teams, 2 fire warrior with devil fish and 2 pirahna, looking to field 2k competitive.

Dont know how its gonna run 2000 competative but U could run it in 1000 - 1500 pretty good and have units to switch depending on the people in the tourney
From what i know the units are basicly garbage without the rite loadout what kind of equipment are u gonna give em?

thinking unit of death rain with TA, one fire knife config. stealth suits taking 2 marker drones and 1 ML
then commanders more then likely will be fireknife. im still playing around with how many fire knifes and death rains ill run. but the list is going to mainly focus on killing things, probably leaving fire warriors
in reserve.
just curious as to wether i would be wasting my money buy sniper drones, i was thinking possibly the broads would get updated since its and old plastic/metal model and maybe they would be cheaper ( wishful thinking) so i was just going to run two hammerheads and 3 sniper teams until then. but i just feel like that the lack of broadsides would leave a big gap in my armies anti tank fire power.

Dont underestimate the power of fire warriors iv seen a maxed squad take out dam near everything that isent an armored vehicle and even some of them cant handle it
I forget wich ones but there are a few vehicles that can get a guided missle system wich is a pretty good str mislle that egnores line of sight with like a 40 inch range
aside from that id atleast pop 2 broadsides in there they like picking off stuff and there twin linked wich is amazing for antitank
I never played against a sniper team or with them so i cant tell u from personal experience wich way to go

I would say go with the broadsides if that is what you really want anyway. Even if they do get redone in plastic and are a little cheaper after the update are you really going to be saving any money if you buy the snipers now and the broadsides later?
